American politics and consequently American life has been becoming more openly socialist, especially since Franklin Roosevelt's administration but the Lyndon B. Johnson era really set it in stone. In fact, extreme leftist have infiltrated, influenced and are now the driving force in the Democratic Party in America. There are about 70 members of the Democrat Party that belong to the Democrat Socialists of America, John Conyers [Chairman of the Judiciary Committee], Tammy Baldwin, Jerrold Nadler, Luis Gutierrez, Melvin Watt, Maxine Waters, Hank Johnson, Steve Cohen, Barbara Lee, Robert Wexler, Linda Sanchez, Sheila Jackson-Lee, Bernie Sanders, Elijah Cummings, Keith Ellison (who is also a muslim), Alan Grayson, Jim McDermott, Charlie Rangel, Pete Stark just to name a few. Their blatant socialist agenda has the goal of making our Great Nation into a socialist/communist-style government and society. The left is openly at war, culturally and politically with traditional American Values and ideals that are Christian and conservative. It might just open our eyes to "what is socialism".
In short, socialism considers you and me as "wards of the State", and the politicians and government leaders who impose socialist rule on us are the "enlightened Elite". They, i.e., "The State" knows best and does everything in the best interest of the collective populace. The ways the socialist "tighten their grip on us" seems logical and harmless, at first, but results in totalitarian politics.
During his 1945 election campaign Winston Churchill stated that:
"...a socialist policy is abhorrent to the (British) ideas of freedom. Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the object worship of the state. It will prescribe for every one where they are to work, what they are to work at, where they may go and what they may say."
Socialism is an attack on the right to breathe freely.
No socialist system can be established without a political police.
They would have to fall back on some form of Gestapo, no doubt very humanely directed in the first instance been caught without a seatbelt, lately?
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism (just look at the former USSR, Cuba, China) the object worship of the state. (Let's see: Obama is the "New Savior"? Ever notice the iconic Picture of past/present socialist and communist leaders, hanging on every wall in those countries?)
It will prescribe for every one where they are to work, (the Democratic platform: "take care of every citizen from cradle to grave" what they are to work at, (just look at the socialist countries now, and look how American has changed since 9/11) where they may go and (try flying America!) what they may say. (say something you truly believe about homosexuals or abortion, aloud, in the "wrong place". You can be jailed!) Watch which words you use? Notice how it used to be "normal", then it was "a warning", now a crime in some areas?)

Socialism punishes those who work hard in the free enterprise system by taking their money through burdensome and unfair taxation and gives that money away to those who don't work or won't work. Yet it is the hardworking man and woman who creates the jobs others say they need. (Our tax system is unfair now. But, to increase the burden is deadly. No one can escape, no matter what a politician says)
Socialists ridicule, intimidate and silence the very citizens they say they want to help, when those citizens question socialist practices or when the citizens do not agree with them. This has always been their method of ruling. Just look at history! (Look recently at "Joe the Plumber" and the vicious attacks on an ordinary citizen asking a simple question of a candidate - BE AWARE!)
Socialism is a method of redistributing resources by a government according to the governments point of view.
Socialism states: "from each according to their ability, to each according to their DEEDS."
Socialism is the stage between Capitalism and Communism. It builds upon the previous system (Capitalism) by nationalizing the "means of production" (i.e. corporations, resources, banks, etc.), but not by making everyone equal. (Bailout)
John F. Kennedy's take on the matter:
"Communism has never come to power in a country that was not disrupted by war or corruption, or both." - John F. Kennedy
Why is this important? You may ask. Socialism has crept into every area of our lives: From our Government to our Schools to our Churches. Look at America today and compare it with 25 years ago, and see where YOUR life and the lives of your children is going!
Matthew 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
We are much worse off than 25 years ago. More wars, more disease, more starvation, more divorced families, more people in jails, higher cost of living, higher taxes, lower standards of life, etc., etc.. And, more socialist government, more socialist practices here at home.
As it currently stands, a fair percentage of the Western population knows almost nothing of the human rights record of Communist regimes and considers Communism a noble ideal that people weren't virtuous enough to practice.
What were the most significant human rights violations committed by Communist regimes, and who was responsible for them?
All Communist governments have practiced widespread killing of non-combatants, i.e. citizens. The extermination of the bourgeoisie and wealthy "as a class" has been most loudly proclaimed, although in actual fact peasants have been by far the majority of the victims. In addition, Communist governments have ordered the genocide of numerous ethnic minorities deemed disloyal or anti- Communist. Finally, Communist governments have frequently killed large numbers of rival Communists. In most cases, the official reasons given for mass killings have been economic or political rather than racial, but punishment has rarely been inflicted for individual infractions of the law. Rather, Communist governments would judge "enemies of the people" to be common in one's class, family, or ethnicity, and respond with blanket repression of the entire suspect group. As the democratic socialist historian Carl Landauer notes in his discussion of Stalin's "dekulakization" campaign.
Communism is dead or dying all over the world. Given this, does the history of Communism retain any practical political implications? The ideas of Karl Marx have never been successful anywhere they have been implemented. That's no surprise. He never held a job in his life. EVER! Never ran a company, a crew, nothing. He never proved any of his theories.
Communism is in serious decline today, but history has a way of repeating itself. For this reason alone, it is important for the future of the world that the basic facts about Communist regimes become common knowledge. While admirers of Hitler's Germany still exist, the public knows enough about the Holocaust to make a revival of Nazism far less likely than it otherwise would be. Greater awareness of the crimes of Lenin, Stalin, and Mao could similarly inoculate the world against any future Communist revival.
Government is at best a necessary evil and at worst an intolerable one. Nothing could better confirm the truth of Thomas Paine's dictum than the experience of Communism; it is virtually a controlled experiment. Remove the checks upon government power, and government quickly produces hell on earth. Not only did Communism kill millions of people. It created poverty rather than plenty, drove human creativity underground, and turned hypocrisy into a basic survival skill. This provides a powerful argument for viewing all government power with intense skepticism.

world, all societies have a mixture of free markets and socialism; this
can make it difficult to figure out which institutions lead to prosperity.
Communism again provided the world with a controlled experiment: Give
the government total control over the economy, and see what happens. The
results were typically mass starvation, followed by stagnation. The contrast
was particularly stark when historical chance split Germany, Korea, and
China into distinct politico- economic units. The culture and initial
living standards of the fragments were initially the same. As the Communist
countries' prosperity lagged ever further behind that of their more capitalist
counterparts, even many skeptics concluded that the difference was not
coincidental, but systemic.
Few would deny any longer that communism--Marxism-Leninism and its variants--meant in practice bloody terrorism, deadly purges, lethal gulags and forced labor, fatal deportations, man-made famines, extrajudicial executions and show trials, and genocide. It is also widely known that as a result millions of innocent people have been murdered in cold blood."
That total is 259,432,000 murdered at the hands of communism.
Most of our national political leaders have ignored us, failed us and used us for personal gain (35% of all members of Congress are now or have become millionaires since entering politics). Most of our national business leaders lie in the name of business, cheat us and fail us (ENRON, WorldCom, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, etc.) Most of our religious leaders lie from the pulpit, cheat, preach a message other than the Gospel of Christ, use us for personal gain. They, too, have failed us. Many of our national institutions are failing.
The enemies of American (within and outside our borders) are UNITED on one cause: The destruction of America as we know it. They call it "CHANGE". And it is change – indeed. There goal is to change America from a democratic republic of conservative and Christian patriots into a socialist union. They are well organized and powerful. But now, it is our turn. It was once proclaimed: "We support of this (our) Declaration (of independence), with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor."
It may be time for the patriots in America to re-state this pledge and to live it out.
We must pray:
No one moves to any worthwhile action or behavior from a reflex. Too many of us have been conditioned to REACT instead of ACT. We respond to what goes on around us, but we rarely create conditions or situations, because we are busy responding to the actions and leadership of initiators.
The democratic and socialist party has initiated a frontal assault on American. They are motivated. They are creating their view of what a socialist-America would be. They are on the move. They are on the attack. Conservatives and Christians have been slow to respond. Slow to react if they react at all. And when our conservative and Christian Leaders have responded, too often they have acted improperly. So, reacting to the socialist threat has been and will continue to be inadequate.
We need positive, resolute, honest, committed leadership. We leaders who will take initiative. We must be moved to act. Inspired to act.
It takes a "Live Free or Die" type of passion for the things we say we believe that will inspire us to act.
For this to work, for our Prayer to be effective,
prayer must be simple.
It is going to take the Body of Christ to act in complete unison to stop America from continuing down the path we are now on. 2 Chrinicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Only the hand of God will sustain this great nation. Only the church seeking Him will bring forth that Hand. Let us NOT be less diligent than our Founding Fathers. It is our freedom that we are fighting for.
