SHAME, SHAME ON THE OLD NOTRE DAME

NWV Readers: Please allow me to share this appeal before you read on.
I rarely ask for your help....you know that…but I need it now. Pass The Salt is currently fighting on two fronts. As you read this I am on the campus at Notre Dame standing with Dr. Alan Keyes in open rebuke of the leadership for honoring the most pro-abortion President in history. View our exclusive interview with Dr. Keyes Here filmed minutes before his arrest last week.
On Sunday we will travel to Washington D.C. to join with our friends at Operation Save America to let our theology become flesh on the streets outside The Whitehouse as we stand against Hate Crimes Legislation currently being debated in the Senate. We will read the Bible openly in defiance of the Congress, the Courts, and the President.
Quite frankly, we have men traveling to DC who cannot afford it. They have taken off work…purchased airline tickets....made hotel reservations…rented cars…fuel…food…(BAIL?)…all on faith. Would you please help defray the costs for these valiant men? If you can’t go, can you send them? Could your church raise an offering?
Regular readers of my writings know that I am more than just a talker. Faith without works is dead…we are going, but we need your help. Allow us to lift Jesus up as the standard as a witness to a lost nation.

Shame, Shame on Old Notre Dame
Shame on Old Notre Dame
Wake up the echoes they’ve sold out their name,
Their decision to let babies die,
Should bring the thunder down from the sky,
It’s time to stand up the great or small
Old Notre Dame is dropping the ball,
Bowing to the applause of men ignoring
Those they’ve sworn to defend. Listen to Notre Dame’s Fight Song
I was at Notre Dame on Thursday and I couldn’t believe what I saw. I’m telling you folks, I feel like I live in a parallel universe.
I made the journey to stand with my friend Alan Keyes who made the decision that it was time to move from rhetoric to action. Say what you will about Dr. Keyes, but can you name anyone of his stature that would go to jail for the unborn?
I eye-witnessed the 25 peaceful pro-lifers being arrested for bearing witness to the un-biblical actions of the leadership of the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Keyes was the most famous, but he was not the most courageous.
Take five minutes and look at this interview I taped with Dr. Keyes minutes before his arrest. He should be president of something….perhaps Notre Dame!
Listen folks, we hear lot’s of talk about reclaiming our government, but perhaps we should start with reclaiming our churches!
Stop right there! Please Catholic-bashers don’t waste an email. I’m not interested in your reasons for not standing with our Catholic friends. I am not asking you to convert; I’m asking followers of Jesus to coalesce against abortion.
The lame-stream media won’t cover the story. Obama is their messiah and abortion is their sacrament. For those in the dark allow me a brief opportunity to bring you up to speed.
Barack Obama, the most pro-abortion president in the history of America has been invited to speak at Notre Dame’s commencement on May 17. Many rank and file Catholics were out-raged and some well-respected Catholic leaders spoke harshly of the invitation. Notre Dame President John Jenkins said he was honored that Obama accepted. Donations to Notre Dame are down. Both sides have dug in their heels.
The position of the Catholic Church is 100% pro-life, but yet, studies show that 54% of Catholics voted against the position of their Church by pulling the lever for Obama. Is it any wonder there is so much confusion?
John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, Ted Kennedy, and Kathleen Sebelius are all bold pro-abortion Catholics who have received no discipline from their church. You cannot be pro-abortion and a Catholic. Some Catholics are finally standing up to say so.
Pro-lifers will be descending on South Bend this week. They see it as a national stage for the pro-life cause. Notre Dame’s actions are bringing the eyes of the world to the abortion issue. It is an opportunity that cannot be missed by those who hate abortion.
As Dr. Keyes so eloquently expressed in my interview with him, this is not about Obama. It is about calling our churches back to the Word of God. The University of Notre Dame is about to honor the promoters of child-killing. No Christ-serving follower can remain silent.
I have been active in pro-life circles for over a decade. The in-fighting within the movement is heart-breaking. It is time ministry leaders laid down they’re swords against each other and came together to raise a righteous standard before the eyes of the world. Stop squabbling over names, donors, and the cameras and unite against the horrible evil of child-killing.
A wise man once told me, “You don’t have to be my twin in order to be my brother.”
I wasn’t one of those arrested last Thursday. I went to support my friends and to archive the event. My 21 year-old college-student daughter accompanied me. On the way home she said, “Dad, something is wrong. Peaceful Catholic grandmas who did nothing more than walk on the campus of a Catholic University, were arrested by that Catholic University for defending a position that the tenets of their Catholic faith teach them they must uphold. What is the message Notre Dame is giving the students?”
I am not Catholic, but I am pro-life. I am returning to Notre Dame later this week. I will not be going to follow any pro-life leader who leads any particular ministry. Thousands of Christians will be there. It will be an opportunity to let your light shine. The apostasy in all of our churches is reaching new heights. The Lord is separating the wheat from the chaff.
The world will take notice of what happens there.
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: Deut. 30:19.
