OPPOSITION TO INVASION OF IRAQ BASED ON EMOTION OR FACTS?
PART 2 of 2

Iraq was destined to be picked off a long time ago. The way to do it was to convince the American people Iraq was a threat to America and when that didn't work, resort to justifying this invasion as a "war of liberation."

March 20, 2004: President justifies U.S. war of 'liberation.' "There are still violent thugs and murderers in Iraq, and we're dealing with them," Bush said. "But no one can argue that the Iraqi people would be better off with the thugs and murderers back in the palaces. Who would prefer that Saddam's torture chambers still be open? Who would wish that more mass graves were still being filled? Who would begrudge the Iraqi people their long- awaited liberation?"

Really? 5.1 MILLION Iraq's are now displaced in their own country or are refugees abroad. "Long awaited liberation," Mr. Bush? From author Jeri Lynn Ball, four years ago:

"In Stalin's Russia, notes Mikhail Heller, enemies were blamed for everything; they were used to justify the invasion of Czechoslovakia (1968), the invasion of Afghanistan in 1980, and so on. The Soviet Communists were thus able to manipulate Soviet citizens into supporting government hunts for "terrorists," "traitors," and spies, for "liberation wars" for humanity.

"Using Marxist-Leninist strategies, the Russian, Chinese, and U.S. ruling elites have sought to frighten Americans and other populations with the specter of ruthless mass terror. They have created enemies and blamed them for everything including terrorist acts. They have used them ...to manipulate Americans into supporting government hunts for "traitors," "terrorists," and these never ending "wars of national liberation." Their aim is to manipulate whole populations into supporting "wars of national liberation" and achieving not only the sovietization of "liberated" underdeveloped countries such as Afghanistan and Iraq, but also the full altruization and sovietization of the United States and other Western nations.

"On September 20, 2001, President Bush said, "Americans are asking: Who attacked our country? The evidence we have gathered all points to...al Qaeda...This group and its leader - a person named Osama bin Laden - are linked to many other organizations in different countries...There are thousands of these terrorists in more than 60 countries. They are recruited from their own nations...and brought to camps in places like Afghanistan, where they are trained in the tactics of terror. The Chinese and Russian Marxist-Leninist-Maoist ruling elites were the originators and developers of air terrorism, they have provided terrorist training courses for Arab guerrillas and global Communists, and they have thus been able to blame acts of terrorism on "fanatics" and "rogue terrorists."

"Today, however, the Russian killers are back in Afghanistan, providing "humanitarian" aid to the "oppressed" peoples. The Russian, Chinese, and American governing elites manipulated the American people into fighting a "liberation war" in Afghanistan. On January 28, 2003, President Bush said, "In Afghanistan, we helped liberate an oppressed people." The Bush Administration now seeks to assist the Russians in their attempt to achieve the altruization and sovietization of Afghanistan, promoting community building and community values (the Communist morality), "strengthening" institutions, "educating" the children, developing media capacity, setting up "cultural exchange programs," and otherwise remaking Afghanistan in the image of the Soviet Communist totalitarian police state."

Getting Away with the Supreme International Crime. June 18th, 2008. "Here is the picture: over 1.5 million killed, 4 million refugees inside Iraq, 3 million outside Iraq, 75% unemployed, cancer rates increased 20,000% since 2003, no medical system, no functioning economy, prostitution is rampant and Iraq has the highest number of women turned prostitutes more than any country that experience war; US detains over 28,000 Iraqis kids below age 18, and over 110,000 adults; US and Shiites divided Baghdad with concrete walls, electricity is available every 4-6 days, no clean water, gasoline is scarce, and the killers still kill and no one knows who is killing who except of course the Americans."

What the Iraq War Is About by Paul Craig Roberts, April 23, 2008: "If the U.S. invaded Iraq for any of the succession of reasons the Bush regime has given, why would the U.S. have spent $750 million on a fortress "embassy" with anti-missile systems and its own electricity and water systems spread over 104 acres? No one has ever seen or heard of such an embassy before. Clearly, this "embassy" is constructed as the headquarters of an occupying colonial ruler. The fact is that Bush invaded Iraq with the intent of turning Iraq into an American colony. The so-called government of Maliki is not a government. Maliki is the well paid front man for U.S. colonial rule. Maliki's government does not exist outside the protected Green Zone, the headquarters of the American occupation."

Iraqis See US Embassy as Affront. April 24, 2008: "It is a symbol of occupation for the Iraqi people, that is all," says Anouar, a Baghdad graduate student who thought it was risk enough to give her first name. "We see the size of this embassy and we think we will be part of the American plan for our country and our region for many, many years."

There is no intention of ever leaving Iraq: U.S. seeking 58 bases in Iraq, Shiite lawmakers say

January 5, 2008. Iraqi Soldier Kills Two American GIs During Joint Mission in Baghdad. "According to Brig. Mutaa Habib Jassim al-Khazrachi, commander of the Iraqi army's 2nd Division, an initial investigation has indicated that the Iraqi soldier has links to militant groups in the area."

January 6, 2008. Iraqi Soldier Who Killed 3 GIs Hailed As Hero. "Unlike the empty promises and false allegations of Western leaders, the killing of the US soldiers was a direct response to the death, destruction and misery which the US and UK have brought with them to Iraq but more importantly, it was an act of defence and a reflection of the reality which Al-Jibouri and millions of Iraqis are facing daily."

June 13, 2008: Iraq war costs may reach $2.7 trillion. There is NO money in the U.S. Treasury. The Democrats continue (right along with Republicans) to throw more hundreds of billions of dollars for Bush's war - every penny will have to be borrowed from the privately owned and corrupt "Federal" Reserve. The interest slapped on our backs as well as our children and grand children. For what?

George W. Bush promised he would not engage in nation building when he ran for office the first time. He lied. He lied about WMDs. He lied about any connection between September 11, 2001 and Saddam Hussein. I want you to take about ten minutes to watch this video where you will see Bush during a press conference state: "The main reason we went into Iraq, uh, was, uh, the main reason we went into Iraq at the time was we thought, he [Hussein] had weapons of mass destruction. Turns out he didn't, but he had the capacity to make weapons of mass destruction."

So, Mr. Bush, you thought Hussein had WMDs and for this 'thought' we have destroyed the country of Iraq?

June 18, 2008: "Asked by The Observer reporter about WMD in Iraq, W. replied: "Still looking for them," sparking a strange moment of levity. Bush continued: "We didn't realize, nor did anybody else, that Saddam Hussein felt like he needed to play like he had weapons of mass destruction. It may have been, however, that in his mind all this was just a bluff."

In this video, Bush is asked what Iraq had to do with 9/11? He responds, "What did Iraq have to do with what?" Question: Attack on the World Trade Center. "Nothing, except for it's part of ...No one ever said..." This video also shows coconspirator, Condeleeza Rice, lie through her teeth. The same Condelezza Rice who stated last week that she was "proud" America invaded Iraq. I wanted to vomit when I read those words. Click here to read the words of Kevin Tillman, brother of Pat Tillman, killed by "friendly" fire and covered up by the military. Only a rock would not become emotional after reading what this Iraq veteran said so eloquently.

What you see above is just the tip of the iceberg. It will get far, far worse as our soldiers develop cancer and other severe health problems from DU exposure. Never mind what has been done to Iraq and on a smaller scale, Afghanistan. But, out of sight, out of mind as the American people turn a blind eye. "Better we fight the terrorists in someone else's country." I'm shamed any American would sign on to such hooey.

1000 soldiers trying to kill themselves every month. April 23, 2008. "Top officials of the Veterans Affairs and Defense departments faced harsh questioning from the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee on Wednesday about recently leaked e-mails written by the VA's head of mental health revealing that nearly 1,000 U.S. soldiers per month have attempted suicide after returning from service in Iraq and Afghanistan."

November 13, 2007. Suicide Epidemic Among Veterans. "Twenty-three-year-old Marine Reservist Jeff Lucey hanged himself with a garden hose in the cellar of this parents’ home - where his father, Kevin, found him. "There's a crisis going on and people are just turning the other way,” Kevin Lucey said." Out of sight, out of mind. While these troubled soldiers are killing themselves at a rate of 18 or more per day, the sissy men in this country sit around playing violent video games, trolling for porn on the Internet or have their backsides planted on the couch watching non stop sports instead of demanding we pull out of Iraq now and stop these sickening invasions of non threatening countries.

June 17, 2008. The Brain Trauma Vets. “We are facing a massive mental health problem as a result of our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. As a country, we have not responded adequately to this problem. Unless we act urgently and wisely, we'll be dealing with an epidemic of service-related psychological wounds for years to come.”

Welcome home soldier, now shut up. "More and more U.S. soldiers and Marines, at great cost to their own careers and reputations, are speaking publicly about U.S. atrocities in Iraq, even about the cowardice of their own commanders, who send youth into atrocity-producing situations only to hide from the consequences of their own orders. In 2007, two brilliant war memoirs - Road from Ramadi by Staff Sergeant Camilo Mejia, and The Sutras of Abu Ghraib by Army Reservist Aidan Delgado - appeared in print. In March 2008, at the Winter Soldier investigation just outside Washington D.C., hard-core U.S. Iraqi veterans, some shaking at the podium, some in tears, unburdened their souls. Jon Michael Turner described the horrific incident in which, on April 28, 2008, he shot an Iraqi boy in front of his father. His commanding officer congratulated him for “the kill.” To a stunned audience, Turner presented a photo of the boy's skull, and said: “I am sorry for the hate and destruction I have inflicted on innocent people.”

Is it any wonder so many of these kids and even hardened vets are killing themselves in large numbers? Is it any wonder we are so hated throughout the Middle East? And, remember this: 15 of the September 11, 2001, hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. Yet, Bush did not invade that oil rich country to chase down Al Qaeda terrorists or Bin Laden. Instead, he sold we the people a pack of lies and invaded a very weakened Iraq.

Oil and big money

June 3, 2008. Iraq is now the third most corrupt country in the world: "The Bush-Cheney administration has something else for which it can congratulate itself, in addition to the military quagmire it created in Iraq with its "surge." According to the international corruption watchdog group Transparency International, Iraq is now the third most corrupt nation in the world, ranking just ahead of last place Somalia and the military dictatorship of Burma."

June 24, 2008. At Last, Some Truth About Iraq and Afghanistan. "After a sea of lies and a tsunami of propaganda, the ugly truth behind the Iraq and Afghanistan wars finally emerged into full view this week. Four major western oil companies, Exxon, Mobil, Shell, BP and Total, are about to sign US-brokered no-bid contracts with the US-installed Baghdad regime to begin exploiting Iraq's oil fields. Saddam Hussein had kicked these firms out three decades ago when he nationalized Iraq's foreign-owned oil industry for the benefit of Iraq's national development. The Baghdad regime is turning back the clock.

"This agreement comes as talks are continuing between the Washington and its Baghdad client regime over future US basing rights in Iraq. After some face-saving Iraqi objections, it is expected that Baghdad will sign a compact with Washington giving US forces control of Iraq and its air space in a manner very similar to Great Britain's colonial arrangement with Iraq. Interestingly, the same oil companies that used to exploit Iraq when it was a British colony are now returning. As former US Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan recently admitted, the Iraq war was all about oil. VP Dick Cheney stated in 2003 that the invasion of Iraq was about oil, and for the sake of Israel."

Here is the bottom line: George W. Bush deliberately lied about Iraq. He took this nation into an unconstitutional, grotesque war under false pretenses. He, Cheney and Rice knew that American soldiers would die because of their lies. As I said in my last column, Vincent Bugliosi, lays out the case for trying George W. Bush for murder in a U.S. court room with Cheney and Rice as coconspirators. You can listen to an interview with Bugliosi here. This must be done and if I get a little emotional about this, forgive me. I know the big picture. I am sickened by the deaths of our soldiers, those dying from DU poisoning, their children being born with horrible deformities, their families, the Iraqi people and the rape of the American people's purse for nothing but lies.

What I've presented here is just a drop in the bucket about Iraq. This lunatic in the White House wants to repeat the same crimes in Iran. He will succeed unless the American people get on the phone today, call their Congress critter and counterfeit U.S. Senator and tell them NO military action against Iran. We've had enough lies and propaganda. For part one click below.

Our soldiers are coming home and dying from DU exposure. Their children from both Gulf Wars are being born with horrible birth defects and yeah, I do get a little emotional about this. A phony "war of liberation" and nation building that is a gross misuse of our military, but fits in perfectly with the plans of the mad power mongers who own Washington, DC.
