"Politicians spout endless bromides, trite phrases and meaningless clichés in a high-charged emotional environment to get you to vote for them, or to convince you they are going to do something for you that government hasn't done before, or re-start something government should have been doing in the first place. Some politicians actually mean what they say, as naïve' as they might be. But most politicians haven't a clue what they will be able to do for you, because they are really intent on what they are going to do for them. The term "Honorable Politician" is almost on oxymoron, especially the longer a politician is in government.. The real tragedy is that millions of people believe them and hang on every word, to their own peril." —Ron Ewart
We listened to Ted Cruz's speech the other day where he announced that he is running for president. Like most politicians, he uttered all the right patriotic phrases to appeal to the emotions in the masses, at least the conservative masses. One phrase stuck out in his speech though. This phrase has been repeated throughout American history since it was uttered by Patrick Henry at the St John's Church in Virginia on March 23, 1775 when he shouted, "Give Me Liberty, or Give Me Death!"
Like millions of us, we have heard this phrase over and over again, shouted from the rooftops and in many speeches and writings by politicians and patriots. Hearing it again coming out of Ted Cruz's mouth, we suddenly realized how the phrase could be interpreted to mean that government must give us liberty, or we prefer death in the alternative. But government can't grant us something we have a natural right to, by virtue of our human existence. Freedom is a natural right, not granted by government. If freedom is to exist in any form, it must be preserved, protected and defended by those sovereign, natural born individuals upon which freedom has been bestowed by our creator. Government always takes freedom, it never grants it, or defends it. If government takes away freedom and it always will in time, freedom must then be TAKEN BACK by individual sovereign citizens, by force if necessary.
In a speech we are preparing for upcoming audiences as we explore the possibility of running for president, we would say this to the American people.
"Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I'm not a politician in the usual sense. I'm going to tell it like it is, not what you or I wish it to be. I deal in realities, not wish lists. Wish lists are for children. The reality is, America is a mess on so many different levels."
"But I'm not going stand here and promise you that I will be successful at what I do, or at what I try because government is messy and fraught with pitfalls, corruption, lobbyists, crazy politicians and special interest groups that all demand a seat at the table. And these problems don't even include the foreign interests that would like to destroy us. America is also beset with an intractable, inflexible judicial system run by gnomes called judges and attorneys and a set of rules that represent a spider gone mad, spinning a web from which he cannot escape."
"But worse than that ladies and gentlemen, a president and the people's representatives must govern in an atmosphere of way too many unknowns and way too much citizen apathy. Scientists call politics a non-linear dynamic system and any scientist knows that when you tweak a non-linear dynamic system, as government does so often without thought, deliberation, or logic, the unintended consequences from those tweaks can explode out of control and into situations that defy management by humans. We are in that situation right now where our non-existent foreign policy could very easily blow up in our faces ….. into a third world war."
"First, I will tell you what I believe. Then I will tell you what I intend to do about today's realities and how my beliefs and principles will influence my decisions on your behalf."
"Way too many Americans, especially politicians, ideologues and academics, describe an America that is full of errors, mistakes, sordid history and irreversible faults. In other words, they focus on the negative and they get some perverted pleasure from it. What these politicians, ideologues and academics fail to do is to see America in its entirety, to see it as a whole. In my book, Staring Deep Into the Cosmos, I wrote:"
"He
who looks down sees a very narrow horizon.
But he who looks up shall feast on all of heaven."
"Those that dissect America and accuse her of her faults are guilty of looking down, or worse, have evil in their hearts. They do not want to see the whole because they grovel and take refuge in America's faults, usually for an agenda that has everything to do with the preservation of their power and buying off the masses ….. for votes. They maintain power by making the masses feel guilty, just for living. On top of that these miscreants scare the people to death on trumped up catastrophes, like man-caused global warming. And because the masses are obviously guilty, they must pay the price for their guilt in draconian regulations and exorbitant taxes to repair the alleged damage that the masses have perpetrated on mother earth and each other. And Americans, being so successful and accused of doing most of the damage, must be severely punished and pay more than any other nation."
"In stark contrast ladies and gentlemen, I see America as a whole, the sum of all of its parts including the positives and the negatives. I can tell you in spite of all of its faults and there are many, America is an exceptional country occupied by exceptional and generous people. In over 2 centuries since freedom was born, I see what America has accomplished for itself, its people and the world at large. If America had not been created, the world would be in far worse shape than it is today. Of that there is no doubt. America is and still can be, a force for good in the world, but not if it is part of the one-world-order."
"Of course, not all the people in America are exceptional. For the last 100 plus years, the failed ideology of Progressivism has been pushing government dependency, the mundane and the mediocre and they have been doing it on purpose ….. for votes. The American people are better than that and they can once again be better than that with the right leaders, positive role models and a message that emphasizes excellence, success, courage, honor, integrity and morality. We can be a positive influence on this world again but we must shed the energy-robbing, mind sapping idea that tells us we are weak, dependent and incapable of managing our own lives in a free land. America was best when it was regulated least."
"Nevertheless, there exists in America millions of exceptional individuals that have not succumbed to the flawed Progressive ideology, political correctness, collectivism and government dependency and they continue to move towards excellence and success. These individuals are what hold up America today. To counter this, government, under the Progressives, has put a bounty on excellence and success to pay for dependency, the mundane and the mediocre ….. in exchange for votes and the perpetuation of their political power."
"At the same time, there are millions more Americans that have no intention of lying down and playing dead while government grows more powerful at freedom's expense. There is a low rumble in America and every now and then the rumble boils to the surface in confrontations between government and the people. As government tightens its grip on power, those confrontations will become more frequent because Americans are not pre-programmed to go quietly into the night."
"Gun and ammunition sales are up dramatically in America and there is a good reason for it, rising government tyranny. The incidents at Waco and Ruby Ridge fell to the government. But newer incidents are falling on the side of the people. The recent highly charged incident at the Bundy Ranch in Nevada a few months ago by armed private citizens, forced government to back down. Previous events on the Klamath (CA) and Jarbidge Rivers (NV) where the government backed down as the people rose up. It should not go without notice that these incidents of resistance, where the people stood up against the government, took place West of the Mississippi River. Sadly, many of the states East of the Mississippi River have fallen to socialism, collectivism and the siren call of government dependency."
"But ladies and gentlemen, if we are to defuse these growing confrontations between angry citizens and government, Americans who believe in the absolute sanctity of individual, unalienable rights and America's excellence and her greatness, must do much more than vote every election cycle. Presidents, Senators and Congressmen and women can only do so much and if left un-attended by the people, they will do what benefits them, or bend to the will of the elite. Only the people, in a large-scale involvement in the political process, can overcome institutionalized Progressivism, the will and power of the elite, or the political main stream. If we are to survive as free people, we must heed the admonition of Medori Severi wherein he states:"
"Until we abandon our manifold private agendas and unite, we will merely be hapless observers standing at the bottom of a dark, deep pit, wistfully hoping to save the world, but really doing little more than breaking the fall of compatriots who are pushed in on top of us…." (quote compliments of Walt Myers)
"Any nation is a reflection of its people. If the people are free, industrious, educated and courageous and strive for excellence, that nation will prosper. However, if a large percentage of the people are weak, dependent on government, ignorant and apathetic, that nation will fall into the black hole of tyranny and the fetid cesspool of mediocrity.
"Freedom, like a disease or a great idea, is infectious. If America projects freedom, good will and generosity and demonstrates the great power of liberty, the people of other nations will demand that their nation parrot the success of America. America does not project freedom, good will and generosity, if it wallows in appeasement and a guilty conscience and fails to confront the bullies of the world with the full force of its military might."
"Further, America will fall like so many other nations from history and become just another failed experiment with freedom, or worse, a third-world banana republic, if it does not take immediate steps to close the borders, strictly enforce immigration law, make a determined effort to improve the economy thereby promoting job growth and wealth and reining in exploding entitlements. A weak and a broke nation is an easy target for other nations determined to build a larger empire on the bodies of their weakened foe."

"As president of the United States, I will take these beliefs and principles to the job of leading this great nation and thrusting it once more into the beacon light of liberty for every other nation to see and emulate. It is totally up to the American people to stand by my side, or put roadblocks in the way. If the people stand by my side, we, together, will start America on a firm path to reclaiming liberty and restoring our Constitutional Republic. But rest assured ladies and gentlemen, it won't be easy and it could take a long time because there are a lot of misguided Americans who want to bring America to her knees. As president and a proud American I will not stand by and let that happen."
"Thank you and good night."
