BENGHAZI-GATE: A DISGRACE TO THE NATION

What is now being called "Benghazi-Gate" by internet journalists and bloggers but being ignored by the major American media, other than investigative reporters of Fox News, is a disgrace to the nation, and a disgrace to those of the major national media who pose and posture as impartial, objective, independent journalists.

Whatever the politics, party, or choice for president any American may have, the impartial, independent, objective reality is that what happened in Benghazi--and in its aftermath -- is a national disgrace.

It is now beyond all reasonable doubt that the administration of President Barack Hussein Obama, and Obama himself, did not speak truth to the American people of what happened at Benghazi, nor how, and why it happened.

The repeated representations of the Obama administration -- and Obama himself, including at the United Nations -- have now been exposed as utterly false political concoctions that Benghazi was a spontaneous response by a mob to an internet purported "trailer" to a (non-existent) film bashing the Prophet Muhammad as, among other things, a child-molesting sexual predator who married his favorite wife at the age of 6 and consummated the marriage when she was 9 years old. (That allegation, of course, happens to be a factually correct, in contrast to the contrived false representations of the Obama administration about Benghazi.)

Obama's false representations, like the false representations in the Watergate scandal, are a poison that damage the body politic, and the soul, of the nation. That poison can only be remedied by exposure of the truth by Obama and his administration--and/or by the media.

It is the media, after all, who tout that their very reason for existence is to serve "the public's right to know" the truth of the government. And it is government, after all, which exists to serve the people, not the other way around.

Our American government exists by the "consent of the governed" under our Declaration of Independence and Constitution. But the "consent of the governed" becomes a meaningless hoax if that consent is obtained by hiding the truth, or deliberately covering it up by false representations. Lies.

But Obama, while asking Americans to re-hire him as President for another four years, refuses to forthrightly address the Benghazi scandal and answer the critical questions presented.

Obama's refusal to deal honestly with what is rightly now deemed "Benghazi-Gate" is a disgrace not only to Obama and his administration, but to the nation itself.

Simply stated: Americans died, and Obama lied. And continues to lie. Blatantly. Boldly. In utter contempt of the American people, to whom he and Joe Biden pose the question: "Who do you trust?"

Meanwhile, the major media, led by the New York Times, does not fulfill its duty to serve "the public's right to know." It fails to cover the Benghazi scandal. Whatever happened to the NY Times boast of "all the news that's fit to print"? In truth, the NY Times and others of the major print and broadcast media, including the networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) are not reporting on the Benghazi scandal. Instead, they are covering-up the Obama cover-up, as utterly contemptuous of "the people" as is the Obama regime.

Only Fox News, so belittled and dismissed by the Obama regime and liberal elitists as not a "real" news medium, continues to do investigative journalism which was once the pride of journalists generally, almost daily exposing new facts which expose the lies of Obama and his regime.

The failure of the NY Times and other major print and broadcast media to treat the Benghazi scandal as "non-news," failing to report on it, is a disgrace to modern journalism itself.

I respectfully suggest that "We, the People" should demand that politicians and media elites cease and desist to participate in treating Americans like ignorant lemmings to be led by lies, and to report truthfully on Benghazi and its aftermath in fulfillment of their respective duties.

In that regard, three Senators published an Op-Ed in the Washington Times demanding that Obama answer "Five Unanwered Questions." Their demand ought to be supported by all Americans, whatever their party.

We are but days before choosing who will serve as president of the United States, in the U.S. Senate, and in the House. In doing so, we will be deciding, as free Americans, what kind of nation America shall be -- as the differences between the two candidates for president, and the two parties, as to the nature of government and governance, could not be more stark. The one, Romney and his party, stand for a nation of limited government, personal responsibility, and free enterprise; and the other, Obama and his party, stand for big government, personal dependency on government, and European-style democratic socialism with a government-managed economy and, among other things, socialized medicine (Obamacare).

The decision of what kind of nation America is to be should be made by free, fully-informed Americans regarding Benghazi, far and away the greatest national scandal since Watergate. The decision on the presidential election, and what kind of nation America shall be, should not be made with vital facts concealed and covered up by by a President and Commander-in-Chief who refuses to address critical questions forthrightly and honestly about a terrorist attack by Muslim fanatics in which Americans were murdered.

"All that is necessary for evil triumph, is for good men to remain silent," said the conservative sage and statesman Edmund Burke many generations ago.

What Edmund Burke said then remains true today. To the degree that we Americans remain silent in the face of this Benghazi scandal, and the refusal of Obama and the major media to let the truth be known in order for Americans to decide who will be their president and what kind of nation we shall be, to that degree we Americans, "We, the People," are as culpable as is Obama and the major media supporting him, in disgracing the nation. Enough is enough.
