SCHOOLHOUSE PHILOSOPHY
Joyce
Morrison The philosophy of the schoolhouse in this generation is the philosophy of the government in the next generation. -- attributed to Abraham Lincoln Abraham Lincolns statement should ring loud and clear in the ears of everyone who cares about the sovereignty of the United States government as we see the disintegration of our borders and the birth of the North American Union. Our youth are being taught a liberal global worldview and true wisdom and knowledge have been omitted from the curriculum. Where knowledge was once gained by the light of a candle and the student was taught in a one room school filled with children of all ages and grades, many are now foundationally left behind in state of the art structures with the highest paid teachers. Governor Blagojevich has proposed Illinois sell their lottery to pay to start universal preschool and build new schools. Is sending babies to government schools and building new buildings really the answer? Our district has two new schools and is deep in debt. Teachers constantly complain about low salaries and working conditions while workers with equivalent education commute to their jobs in the city working 8 hour days twelve months a year for less money. Residents on fixed incomes fear the loss of their modest homes because of the huge increase in property taxes due to the building of these new schools. Music, art, woodworking and other classes had to be cut back drastically due to the districts financial problems, but the sports programs and high paid coaches survived the cut. Administration has now proposed shortening the school day by forty minutes to save dollars. Three new gyms went into the new high school building while cutting the room space of the agriculture classes, mechanics and other vocational programs. With fewer teachers and program cuts, will we have smarter students because we built new schools? Schools that were not needed, nor could the district afford, built against the wishes of the voters, built only because there was a partial grant available. What is taught in the new schools should be of major concern to parents, grandparents and the public in general as our nations future leaders are there to be educated. Not one student can tell you about the United Nations Agenda 21 and their plans for the development of a global government. They are not being taught about the Council on Foreign Relations plan for a North American Union with Mexico and Canada. Our local school librarian was interviewed by our small town paper and she said her favorite book was The Di Vinci Code. A couple of students were interviewed by the paper and they said the librarian had greatly influenced their reading choices of The Di Vinci Code and Brave New World which were their favorite books. What did these students learn from these choices? Did the librarian instruct them? The Di Vinci Code has caused much confusion among those inadequately informed about the origins of the Gospels and the history of the early church. Brave New World could be used as an instruction tool teaching the horrors of Agenda 21s Smart Growth and Sustainable Development, but the book needs informed guidance for interpretation. [See DVD "Liberty or Sustainable Development] An 8th grade student told me she had to read The Giver this year and it made her sick. This has been required reading in the lower grades for years and it is difficult to understand why they continue to promote this book. Her teacher apologized for this assignment, but said it was required. Could it be they intend to plant seeds they hope will grow in these young minds? This same straight A student was given special recognition at her 8th grade promotion for her spelling. Yet when she writes, she uses are when she should use our, there in place of their and makes other major grammatical errors. She is very bright so it would appear a series of teachers were somehow negligent in their instruction..and she should not have received an A until she properly earned it. Sex education has become 95% instruction and 5% abstinence. The how to instruction only desensitizes young students to immediately want to experiment with their newly found knowledge. But, they are not equipped with the knowledge of the dangers of adolescent sex and their morals are at risk of being totally destroyed. Laptop computers are destined to be in the hands of every 7th and 8th grader. This will prevent mom and dad from snooping through their books to see what Johnny is reading.or to know if he even can read at this level. We all know about the revisionist versions of our American history. Events have been so distorted we hardly recognize them. The spin is always against the founding principles of this nation. Kids go to school with their nose and tongue pierced, tattoos, and horrible slogans on their T- shirts, yet they are not allowed to wear apparel with the name of Jesus or God written on them and must speak in whispers about their faith in Jesus Christ. The advancement and diffusion of knowledge is the only guardian of true liberty." -- James Madison (1751-1836), Father of the Constitution for the USA, 4th US President James Madison knew the only way we were to remain a sovereign, free nation was through (proper) knowledge. We are at the point of having the most uneducated students in our nations history, yet we keep pouring dollars into an education system that is failing and the result is dumbed down students. It is called Outcome based education which appeared to be the plan. Technology is the only knowledge some students have. They know every video game, all about computers, MP3 and Ipod gadgets, but if you shut off the electricity they are in big trouble and would have no idea how to entertain themselves unless they went to the mall. Bruce Shortt, author of "The Harsh Truth About Public Schools," says, "Unfortunately, Christian parents allow an aggressively anti-Christian institution to form the minds of their children, and the fruit of that choice is bitter. The overwhelming majority of children from evangelical families leave the church within two years after they graduate from high school; only 9 percent of evangelical teens believe that there is any such thing as absolute moral truth; and, our children are being forcibly indoctrinated to believe that homosexual behavior is acceptable." Shortts message should cause parents to take at close look at what their child is learning when he wrote about, moral relativism (no fixed standards), academic dumbing down, far-left programs, near absence of discipline and the persistent but pitiable rationalizations offered by government education professionals." The United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization, better known as UNESCO, designs much of the curriculum preparing your child to be a dumbed down, obedient Global servant who has to work on a team and cannot think for himself. Recently a college freshman said she didnt have time to work although there were several job opportunities. She did however have time to spend evenings visiting over at the boys apartment. The apartments are on campus in place of dormitories. We hear college students complaining they have to pay off student loans. Would bringing up their academics to qualify for scholarships and working part time help that situation? Or is their complete education the taxpayers responsibility? A few decades ago, students spent many hours in the library because there were no computers. In fact, they had to locate a typewriter to type their essays and reports.and retype them until they were perfect. Most students worked part time and some worked even longer hours to pay their way. Nights were for study not for play. Higher education was serious business. Today, college classes are often cancelled, and it seems each school year there are fewer days spent in class. Very little time is spent at the library because everyone has his/her own computer and research is done quickly and easily over the internet and the word processor brings typing to the kindergarten level.
Will
this high dollar education system prepare college graduates to be
equipped with the proper knowledge? More importantly, will the philosophy
of Abraham Lincoln and the founding fathers be the philosophy of this
generation? Will todays students keep the United States government
a strong sovereign government in the next generation or are they being
taught the transition to global citizenship? 2006 Joyce Morrison
