BRRRR I'M COLD: IT MUST BE GLOBAL WARMING

We lost another calf, were the dreaded words uttered discouragingly by my farmer husband after he had finished the morning chores. Unexpectedly, three cows decided this bitterly cold weather was a good time to calve and by the time the babies were found, they were almost frozen. Extra care with good bedding and heat lamps were not enough to save them.

For those who think global warming is here, they have not lived in the nations mid-section this winter. In our area alone, we have had two severe ice storms with people suffering power outages for days. Many other parts of the country have undergone the same severe winter storms. Generator sales have soared.

Al Gore has been nominated for all kinds of awards - even the Nobel Peace Prize - for his promotion of global warming, but for those of us who have had an extremely cold winter, we say bring it on, we welcome a little warming.

We live in a deep valley with rich farmland formed by glaciers. A description of the area by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources says, When the glacier reached its southernmost limit about 20,000 years ago, the ice was a mile thick at Chicago.

If there was a mile thick chunk of ice 20,000 years ago, what happened to it? Power generation, home heating, factories and auto emissions certainly didnt have anything to do with the melt down. Could that mean there was global warming 20,000 years ago?

Another report said that in approximately 4.6 billion years of Earth history, there have been three major episodes of glaciations. Could it be there is just a natural cycle of cooling and heating on the earths surface? Many reputable scientists believe this is the case, but the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change issued a new Summary for Policymakers in Paris on February 2, 2007, filled with alarm against human activity.

Environmental News Service reported: Global Warming shock Wave Hits World Leaders, This morning in Paris, hundreds of scientists from around the world released a report showing that global warming is accelerating, that human activity is responsible for this warming, and that it is likely irreversible for centuries, even if greenhouse gas emissions are stabilized.

Could some of the scientists involved be political scientists?

The Second Assessment Report was released in 1996 to instill fear and stir up support for the 1997 Kyoto Protocol. This current round of global warming hype, including the Fourth Assessment Report, is designed to instill fear and stir up support for forcing the U.S. to join the Kyoto crowd in adopting energy restrictions that will have no effect on the climate, but will severely impact the economy, according to Henry Lambs article, The Other Green in Global Warming, published recently in World Net Daily.

Some scientists are going so far as to say that heating our homes and cooking affects the global climate and could potentially be targeted to counter the effects of global warming.

Illinois has jumped onto the global warming hype and immediately severe restrictions are being proposed. Governor Blagojevich has sought out University of Illinois scientists, environmental groups, such as the Sierra Club, and is convening a panel of experts to advise him on the potential fallout, according to an article by Marni Pyke of Chicagos Daily Herald.

Springfield Journal Register reported, A group of state lawmakers this week rallied around a "Blueprint for Action" drafted by Environment Illinois. The legislative remedies it suggests include California-style caps on carbon dioxide emissions from automobiles and coal-burning power plants.

Environment Illinois is an advocacy group fighting to reverse carbon dioxide emissions and some of their recommendations to the General Assembly are to support hybrid-electric cars; cap emissions from vehicles; tailor motorists' insurance premiums to reflect mileage, rewarding those who drive less; and adopt tough energy-efficiency standards. .

The environmentalists have long hindered any new investment in power plants. It is reported there is as much coal in Southern Illinois as there is oil in Saudi Arabia. Many Illinois coal mines were closed about 15 years ago because of the sulfur content found in the coal which is a pollutant. Power companies have spent millions of dollars to come into compliance with the required standards in order to use coal to generate electricity. Emissions may alter the air quality, but there are still no hard facts that emissions cause global warming.

New technology is under way to solve the sulfur problem, but it will only be a matter of time before the environmentalists make another claim to prevent the mining and the use of coal. It appears they want to put a hold on all the earths resources.

Electricity appears to be a main target of those who want to weaken the foundation of the United States. One way to accomplish their goal is to interfere with affordable electricity by attacking the power generations fuel whether it is nuclear, coal or oil. Close the factories, stop using wood to build, stop generating power, stop mining, stop fuel consumption, stop agriculture - and soon we will see what happens to America.

The United States is sounding more like a third world nation every day.

The League of Conservation Voters, a powerful environmental group, has started heating up their campaign for the next presidential election by saying, At this critical juncture, we have a tremendous opportunity to make sure our next president is committed to solving global warming. This is our shot - we can't waste any more time. The League of Conservation Voters is holding nothing back - we are making this one of our biggest priorities.

This is the group who supports Al Gore and labeled Barack Obama a Champion before he was even seated in the U.S. Senate.

So what is the purpose for the Kyoto Treaty, Climate Control and global warming propaganda? Since India, China, Mexico and other developing nations dont have to comply with emission standards, could this be a way to bring the U.S. and the European nations to their knees and equalize them with the Third World countries? Equity is one of the three Es that are being taught in todays schools.

In a recent discussion on global warming, one attendee said, Im not as worried about global warming as I am about running out of oil. Running out of oil is a legitimate fear because the global warming people are the same ones who are using endangered species to further their agenda.

Polar bears put Alaska oil development on thin ice, reported by Reuters News, said, Until now, the Alaskan oil industry and polar bears have coexisted peacefully, but proposals by the U.S. government to list polar bears as endangered by global warming have cast a shadow on oil development on Alaska's North Slope. A "threatened" listing for the struggling bears, proposed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, could bring new regulatory hurdles for future exploration and drilling, industry advocates say.

We should be concerned about air and water pollution, but to what extent? Do we want all of our factories and jobs to go to a third world country while we do without heat and electricity? Before we shout global warming, global warming, we need to make certain the problem really exists, or we could lose a lot more than we have gained.
