“And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?” -1 Samuel 17:29
Our last presidential elections proved you can learn a lot about a fellah by the friends he keeps (i.e., Van Jones, Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, etc.). You can also learn a lot about someone or something by its enemies. The key word though is learn.
My experience as an English teacher taught me that some folks (like the socialists who are bent on destroying this country) don’t want to learn. And some folks (like the proles who put the current crop of socialists in office) can’t learn. They’re functionally illiterate and hopelessly dependent on tax payers and socialist leaders to take care of them. Our public school system is the root cause of this learning disability.
Still,
if I knew nothing else about a soon-to-be-released documentary called
IndoctriNation, I’d eagerly watch for it
because of the list of enemies it has already made. Public school apostles
(teachers’ unions) and George
Soros’ news media propagandists began attacking IndoctriNation
months ago. With the U.S. on the verge of total economic and social
collapse, this is a very timely documentary.
For those of you who’ve never heard of this project, IndoctriNation
is a 90-minute film that explores America’s public education system
through the travels of Colin
Gunn, a Scottish filmmaker, actor, and homeschooling father of seven.
During the last year or so, he drove across America in a big, yellow
school bus on a quest to discover what America’s public schools
have done to America.
With a lot of help from co-producer, Joaquin Fernandez, this part documentary-part testimonial reveals an elaborate conspiracy to replace God’s plan for training subsequent generations with a humanistic model that deliberately fragments the traditional family and undermines the Church and its commission given by our Lord Jesus Christ.
The DVD of IndoctriNation is set to be released on August 9, 2011. The producers are currently running a “(Turn Your) Back to School” campaign at home school conventions and other venues as a lead up to the start of the 2011-2012 school year.
To those liberals who like to browse NewsWithViews for no better reason than to vent their hatred for biblical Christianity and constitutional government, before you email me with your scornful diatribe, try to understand that when we criticize your public (government) schools, we do so based on two major flaws in The System. First, the children required by law to attend public schools belong to their parents, not the government. Secondly, today’s public school system, which is really one system controlled by federal dollars, is a direct violation of the Constitution’s 1st and 10th Amendment.
Proof is found in one of IndoctriNation’s critics, who made the following comment: “…You invite people like me, formerly indifferent agnostics, to dedicate our time to stopping people like you, the enemies of all human goodness and progress.”
Since he or she and millions like him see Christians as the enemy, it’s little wonder he justifies taking our children from us as spoils of war in order to de-program them from our dangerous moral values and subversive religious beliefs.
Documentaries like IndoctriNation, books by many of the authors interviewed for this film (like Dr. Sam Blumenfeld, Chaplain Ray Moore, John Taylor Gatto, Dr. Bruce Shortt, Karl Priest, and others, including me) and sermons by ministers (like Franklin Graham, Dr. Charles Stanley, Dr. Erwin Lutzer and Dr. D. James Kennedy), asks the question, “Is there not a cause?” Apparently though, our cause is a threat to supposedly indifferent but really anti-Christian folks like the above critic.
Moreover, because we’re talking about our children, there should be even greater outrage from parents. There really is a cause! These are our kids they’re brainwashing!
According to the film, 90 percent of Christian parents send their kids to public schools, and 88 percent of those kids will have lost their faith by the time they graduate (if they graduate). Why do you suppose that happens? Hmmmm. Films like this one, books like mine and others, and ministers with a backbone, not only have the right but the duty to warn Christian parents about what’s happening to their children when they entrust them to their local government indoctrination centers – public schools. Maybe we can save some of our kids before it’s too late!
Despite what liberals claim, when the U.S. Supreme Court’s black-robed demigods decided in favor of a secular humanist in Torcaso v. Watkins (1961), it acknowledged that Secular Humanism is in fact a religion and is protected by the 1st Amendment. Infamous Justice Hugo Black noted, “Among religions in this country which do not teach what would generally be considered a belief in the existence of God are Buddhism, Taoism, Ethical Culture, Secular Humanism, and others.”
The same court soon went on to decide that prayer (Engel v. Vatale, 1962) and bible reading (Abington v. Schempp, 1963) and eventually the posting of the Ten Commandments in public schools (Stone v. Graham, 1980) were a violation of the same amendment. But as I’ve often argued, the Fundamentals of Humanism include Darwinism, Socialism and Moral Relativism, all of which are drilled into public school children from Head Start to high school graduation (if they graduate).
Public schools violate the 1st Amendment, not only by teaching religious beliefs contrary to those of the parents (“prohibiting the free exercise thereof”), but simply teaching religious beliefs (humanism) at all.
Supposedly, public schools are under the control of local governments within each state, but in reality, that’s far from true. Although parents have the façade of electing their local school board members, most of what goes on inside each school is beyond the authority of those board members.
Policies, standards and even curriculum are essentially set by unelected teachers’ unions and enforced by state boards of education, which are backed by federal dollars via the unconstitutional Department of Education. The 10th Amendment is frequently cited as proof that the DOE and therefore today’s public schools violate the Constitution.
The amendment reads, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
Do you recall seeing education enumerated as a power to the federal government by the Constitution? Me either. And for that matter, I don’t see where it’s delegated to the states. It would appear that the people are the ones delegated with the power to educate their own children. But this was not a power even the Constitution had the authority to delegate.
My conclusion is supported by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence, which spoke of “unalienable (God-given) rights.” Since we’re talking about our children, both the right and responsibility to educate them are ours, according to our God.
The Bible tells us the training of our children is not merely our right but our responsibility. Consider first Proverbs 22:6, the verse I use to introduce my website, www.voicefromthepews.com. Whom do you think God (via Solomon) is telling to train the child, the State? God forbid! Try Deuteronomy 11:19. The Lord (via Moses) clearly tells us to teach our children, not delegate that responsibility to the government. So why do we do it? Is it any wonder then each generation grows further and further from God?
I talk a lot more about this issue in my last two books, Legally STUPiD: Why Johnny doesn’t have to read and Prole Nation. In Legally STUPiD, I point out that Big Brother knew what he was doing when he kicked God out of the public schools. Without daily Bible reading, the Lord’s Prayer and the reminding presence of the Ten Commandments on the wall, he knew most children would not receive moral training at home or through today’s seeker friendly, apostate churches.
In Prole Nation, a novel, I depict our immediate future in which the federal government has begun to exercise even greater power over education by further restricting Christian schools and home schools, with an ultimate objective of closing them. If the Lord tarries, that day is coming soon.
Let me strongly encourage you to read further about the history of public schools. Find a copy of either of my books or Dr. Shortt’s The Harsh Truth About Public Schools, Gatto’s The Underground History of American Education or Priest’s Protester Voices – The 1974 Textbook Tea Party. Learn what your kids’ teachers and the news media don’t/won’t tell you, like gender training in California or especially how public schools were Goal #10 on the Communist Manifesto.
Before closing this article, let me show you what another public school advocate had to say about IndoctriNation: “Biggest @#$%&* ever made. The producers of this movie should be locked up in an insane asylum and the money used to make it should be taken back and put towards something beneficial for humanity like stem cell research or a cure for AIDS.”
This statement says so much about the opposition. Beyond the need to express himself with profanity, this fellah believes he or his government has the power to lock up in insane asylums folks who believe things contrary to the State, much like the use of the gulags in the old Soviet Union or George Orwell’s Ministry of Truth in Nineteen Eighty-Four, where folks like us were cured of our thoughtcrimes.
His hateful attitude is a clear example of political correctness run amuck and evidence of what we can expect in the near future. As I’ve asked in other NWVs articles, for whom do you think our government has built all those containment camps hidden throughout the country?
Notice too that he asserts that the money used to produce IndoctriNation, all of which came from individual donors or private, Christian organizations – not tax payers, can and should be taken, presumably by his government again, and re-distributed to support liberal causes, like stem cell research, which takes the life of unborn babies, or AIDS research, a disease, which, for the most part, is preventable by simply changing one’s lifestyle.
Less than 100 years ago, folks like him only wanted to teach an alternative view of creation. A generation later, that view was the only view allowed in public schools as mandated by the federal government. Almost 40 years ago, they told us the Constitution somewhere gave women the right to kill their babies. Shortly thereafter, they had tax payers paying for that so-called right.
John Dewey, the father of today’s public schools, once argued that reading skills were key to changing those schools. Not only what children read had to be controlled but how well they could read. The 1950’s introduced us to a new method of teaching reading, then called Look-Say, now called Whole Language. Under the old Phonics method of teaching reading, children could develop a 24,000-word vocabulary by the end of the 4th grade. Under the new method of memorizing words by sight (not sound), children now develop fewer than 1,500 words by the end of the 4th grade.
By dumbing down their vocabulary, they dumbed down a generation. Most Americans can no longer focus on what they’re thinking – if they’re thinking – because they can’t articulate what they’re thinking, much like George Orwell’s proles. Now they’re dependent on the government that made them that way.
And while our public schools were cleverly dumbing us down academically, they were indoctrinating us with moral relativism and revised history. Dumbed-down children who dared come to school with Christian values were easily taught to question what their parents believed, then doubt what their parents believed, then renounce what their parents believed in favor of what the State wants them to believe.

If you’re one of the millions of Americans with that learning disability caused by a public school education, and you therefore cannot understand what I’ve written in this article or my books or other such books, please watch IndoctriNation when it’s released on DVD later this summer.
In the meanwhile, try to improve your reading skills for your own sake and for your children’s sake. You may want to start by reading your Bible. After all, is there not a cause?
