HOW DO WE DEFINE STABILITY?

Our President has consulted, pondered, prayed about, no doubt and shared his new strategy for Iraq. He wants more troops to police a troubled province and the infamous Baghdad. What is the reasoning behind this? More troops will help gain the ground, then keep it secure so the bad guys can't come back in later and attack again. On the surface that might work for awhile, but its kind of like our border nightmare and the never ending story. 20 or 30 million illegal alien, mystery people roaming our country and little or no border security or protection because apparently, we feel guilty even defending our borders.

So, what do we have then, moments and pockets of security in between the onslaught assaults from the gang lords, drug lords, terrorists, pedophiles and killers. Here and there are a few poor and desperate Moms' with babies wanting to work and stay alive in our country. The rest, are thugs and raping our people and system!!! Here have some more social security payments while you are waiting in line for a home loan!

We haven't had the will for decades to actually secure our borders and support our border patrol with REAL authority, so I'm not surprised we think we can fix Iraq and stop the endless killing between the Sunnis and the Shiites after hundreds of years of slaughter and hatred between them. I reference you to the two brave, border patrol agents sentenced to prison for 11 and 12 years for shooting an illegal alien drug pusher with a van full of drugs who they thought had a gun and was aiming at them so they shot and unknowingly hit him in the butt. The bad guy got immunity, free medical care and is suing. The good guys get to go to prison for doing their jobs well!!!!! Many in congress have signed a letter asking our President for a pardon. What is the delay Mr. President? I like the part of the President's speech, where he expected the President of Iraq to meet some benchmarks and gain some ground himself. That is movement in the right direction. He and their leadership will have to find ways to stop the killing between groups, discuss the problems in their history and beliefs and find real strategies to live and work together or be arrested and stopped forcefully.

The deeper issue that creeps through our Middle East nightmare and threat to us is a deep belief, fueled by motivated and focused passion, that now is the time for Islam to rule the world and stop the great Satan, USA and the little Satan, Israel. This deeper danger is in our face and reflects the endless attacks on us and our interests since the 70s. We have mostly snoozed with all these attacks, talked it out, puffed our chests then retreated. Of course we bombed an aspirin factory and a camel here and there, but never have really taken on the over riding issue and threat�..Fundamentalist Islam wants and plans to take over the world.

That is why the attacks have not stopped and the attacks will continue until we finally wake up, identify the real enemy, have talks with the leadership that actually matter and hit them in their motivational heart. We must find out and acknowledge what actually matters to them��..if life doesn't matter, if money doesn't matter, if telling the truth doesn't matter��maybe Mecca and Medina will if we are attacked again!!! We must fight to actually win and protect freedom and our way of life or we will lose it!
