Thursday, May 2, 2013 was National Day of Prayer… Prayer has been a tradition since 1775 in this nation… this nation once known as a nation under God!
Where are we now? The same week we have our “Day of Prayer” we are told as a nation that the Pentagon may court martial soldiers who share Christian faith – NOTE it is only the Christian faith & Jewish faith, no other “religions” are mentioned in this warning.
This attack is coming from Obama’s civilian “appointees” who lead the Pentagon. According to Ken Klukowski author for View discussion: “It was confirmed that the military will make it a crime, possibly resulting in imprisonment for those in uniform to share their faith; including Christian pastors or priests or Jewish rabbis, whose duty since the founding of the US military under George Washington is to teach their faith and minister to the spiritual needs of troops who come to them for counsel, instruction, or comfort.”
So we tell our soldiers they’re fighting for freedom in other countries and yet we tell our military chaplains they cannot pray in the name of Jesus but they must perform marriages for which they believe is a sin… rituals of WICA, which they believe to be an exact opposite of their beliefs…. NOW we tell our soldiers, chaplains and all – they cannot speak or share their faith without risk of a court martial… Tell me exactly what freedom is it they are fighting for? (Again this is only directed at Christian & Jewish faiths)
Greece was a country that boasted the belief in many “religions” and “gods.” (covering all the bases so-to-speak) When Apostle Paul visited Athens he grew concerned over the “many gods.” There were statues honoring each but there was one without a name or face; Paul told them he knows this God and can introduce Him to them.
Acts 17:16-22 16 …While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was greatly distressed to see that the city was full of idols. 17 So he reasoned in the synagogue with both Jews and God-fearing Greeks, as well as in the marketplace day by day with those who happened to be there. 18 A group of Epicurean and Stoic philosophers began to debate with him. Some of them asked, “What is this babbler trying to say?” Others remarked, “He seems to be advocating foreign gods.” They said this because Paul was preaching the good news about Jesus and the resurrection. 19 Then they took him and brought him to a meeting of the Areopagus, where they said to him, “May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting? 20 You are bringing some strange ideas to our ears, and we would like to know what they mean.” 21 (All the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there spent their time doing nothing but talking about and listening to the latest ideas.) 22 Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: “People of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious. 23 For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. So you are ignorant of the very thing you worship—and this is what I am going to proclaim to you.”
Take time to know what Paul shared with them; that he knew the God and he shared that gospel…
Are we like the nation of Greece or even like Rome, just before its fall? We now want to embrace many “religions” and “gods” yet persecute those who follow what they believe (and I know to be true) is the ONE AND ONLY GOD! Paul was persecuted for his teachings and beliefs in the one and only true God – and eventually put to death by the Roman government.
Our so-called-public Christian leaders today are following a similar path; embracing other religions even trying to meld them together as one. WOW – I can’t imagine the wrath that will be wrought on those from the Great I AM!
Rick Warren is traveling down that slippery slope of acceptance. Making black & white gray is what sin does. There are absolutes in this world – and while we are not to hate others, we are to despise sin itself. Rick promotes “getting along” which is not a horrible thought – we are to get along… but Islam does not accept Christianity and it never will. (You might remember Rick’s 40-day study of a Purpose Driven Life, which I believed was a good & positive study.)
However, recently Rick Warren is promoting Chrislam, as his “Christian” church, (Saddleback Community Church in Orange Country California) embraces the joining of Christianity and Islam. This is a growing trend/fad of religious tolerance but I can assure you there is no true parallel with these two faiths. One god asks that you kill others who do not believe in him and if you try really hard he might or might not allow you in his heaven. WHILE the other God died for all living in sin that we might have eternal life with Him.
Our First Amendment is in place to protect people of all faiths (but still our laws are based on Christian Biblical laws).
FREEDOM OF SPEECH, PRESS, RELIGION AND PETITION OUR FIRST AMENDMENT
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for redress of grievances.
This amendment is being infringed upon by those civilians determining policy at our pentagon. This amendment is infringed upon when a school has to consider “policy” because a little first-grade girl wrote a Veteran’s Day poem honoring and quoting her grandfather, a Vietnam Vet; “I prayed to God for strength, I prayed to God for peace.” After a “member of the community” was offended and complained, the school board and administration had to create policy; I suppose the 1st Amendment wasn’t clear enough to them or to that “member of the community.” Let me say right now – our Bill of Rights and Constitution are not in place to guard you from having hurt feelings; quite the contrary!
ObamaCare is another infringement on our 1st Amendment! There are many churches and Christian companies who are suing over this forcing of paying for contraceptives. When did the use of contraceptives become a right due to you from others? IT ISN’T!! More of the GRAY in this world. I personally have nothing against certain contraceptives but I do have a problem with me footing the bill for what I consider a lifestyle choice AND worse yet those “abortion” pills, which I am against… “the morning after pill.” The FDA (because we certainly trust their judgment for our better health) has approved the purchasing of the “Morning-After Pill” as over the counter… and a young girl as young as 15 years old is free to purchase and use without parental consent or knowledge.
This article could continue with the grievances we have had bestowed upon us as WE THE PEOPLE by our government. We are fighting for our 2nd Amendment Right – We’re fighting for our 1st Amendment Rights AND we’re fighting for our 10th Amendment Rights… SOVERIEGNTY!

I think we’ve been patient long enough with our government officials – AND I think we’ve not spent enough time with our God, on our knees in repentance and prayer.
I’ll finish here by leaving you with words from Thomas Jefferson: “God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the Gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever; That a revolution of the wheel of fortune, a change of situation, is among possible events; that it may become probably by Supernatural influence! The Almighty has no attribute which can take side with us in that event.”
