THANK YOU, FREEDOM-RUSH SUPPORTERS

I have watched my dad’s (Chuck Baldwin) pastoral ministry at Crossroad Baptist Church in Pensacola, FL my entire life (now 31 years). My mom (Connie), sister (Sarah), brother-in-law (Allan), brother (Chris), sister-in-law (Jana), nieces and nephews (Emily, Amy, Jay, Charlie, James and Jeb), wife (Jennifer) and grandparents (Betty and Bill) have all served under my dad’s leadership voluntarily, willingly and joyfully (some longer than others, obviously). We all follow his patriarchal leadership because we know His desire is to honestly and correctly follow God’s natural and revealed laws. More than that, I watched my dad and mom at home every day growing up and into adulthood. I know their sincerity and purity. Dad’s retirement from Crossroad Baptist Church was the hardest decision not only for my dad, but for all of the Baldwin family.

One would think (or hope) that with the proof of Chuck Baldwin’s integrity and character on display for all the world to see that attacks upon his (our) motive and purpose would not be called into question, but as events reveal, even people who have supposedly been the friends of Chuck Baldwin and his family over the past 10, 20 or even 30 years have proven to be nothing but wolves in sheep’s clothing. I truly feel sorry for those people. But we have seen this throughout the decades, so it is no different now that the Baldwin families have made a decision to do what we know to be right, regardless of who understands or likes it.

Before now, I could not fully appreciate the amount of antagonism and vilifying that my dad has received in his pastoral life. With my dad’s announcement of our entire family moving to Montana, the opposition has been more than noticeable. Honestly, it is fascinating how many people take interest. It is as if all those who have left Crossroad Baptist Church with a negative attitude, those who are disgruntled members or those who despise the involvement Chuck Baldwin has had over the past 3 ½ decades are coming out of the wood works in some sort of final attack on him and his family. So be it.

At this stage in my life and knowing what I know now about God, good, evil, life, justice, human nature, Christian ministry and social science, it is laughable to see people in a tizzy about this news. But it stands to reason from a spiritual perspective: where God and God’s people are moving for His will and purpose, Satan and those operating by that spirit move as well. Perhaps there are different ways of stating the same truth. What is amazing and wondrous to see, however, is in the face of the opposition, there is overwhelming support, encouragement and love being shown towards our family and our move—more than I would have ever expected and more than I have ever seen throughout our ministry at Crossroad Church.

People all across America—and especially Montanans—have called, written and emailed us showing not only their support of our family’s move to Montana but also their desire or their plan to move either to Montana or a nearby State. There is unquestionably and undoubtedly an exodus from the eastern States to the western for the same or similar reasons the Baldwin family is moving to Montana. Doctors, lawyers, judges, pilots, military officers, police officers, business owners, real estate brokers, retailers, corporate consultants, farmers, merchants, precious metal brokers, house wives, engineers, construction workers, educators and virtually every “type” of person you can imagine have expressed their support not just for the Baldwin family but also for the ideal of preserving faith, family and freedom. With every one antagonist, there are three supporters. At this point, the odds look good.

What the antagonists likely do not realize or do not want to accept is that what the Baldwins are doing has been going on for several years in America and will only continue to grow as oppression grows. It is a movement with a purpose in mind. Indeed, lines will be drawn in the sand whether people accept it or not. Neutral parties will not be welcome on either side. And those who do not realize that a war is currently raging are clueless. This battle disturbs the comfort and convenience of many, and so those who are lazy, indifferent, greedy or otherwise resist (mainly through mere words) anyone or any movement that would encourage such a stance.

These antagonists apparently do not consider or care about similar decisions made in the past, which have given way to freer lands: America’s forefathers did it, the early Christians did it, the Jews have done it and countless unknown peoples have done it throughout human history. The essence of life confirms the desire to live and prosper in a land of like-minded people. The family unit itself is based upon the premise of likeness, commonality and purpose. Society and government likewise are formed with the same premises in mind. It is for this reason, as I have argued for a while, that the United States as a proposed “one nation” will not, must not and cannot sustain. It defies natural law. Today, freedom’s quest for some seems to reside in voting for new federal agents, bureaucrats and whores—what a proven fruitless, ineffectual and silly avenue!
Much more is needed, and people are beginning to realize it.

I cannot convey how many people I have spoken with who envy what the Baldwins are doing. They desire to leave their home because they know and feel the utter lack of commonality, unity, sustainability and purpose of living in a free republic. To them, there are more important things in life than modern cities, conveniences and life-style. They see the apathy and disregard for the values of family, freedom and faith.

They see the darkness of the clouds hovering over their community and State while clueless people play on the beaches, lakes, condos and parks as if the happy sun will shine upon and the pleasant breeze will caress their lives forever. In short, they are disgusted, and they feel helplessly stuck for a variety of reasons. To those people, what the Baldwins are doing is a fantasy, a dream which they wish they could fulfill. I am humbled by their congratulations and saddened by their inability to accomplish that dream (thus far). I have such compassion and sympathy for their frustrating position. I only pray that God provides a way for those people to do what is best for themselves and their families.

As for the Baldwins, we know that our lives from here on out will entail more arduous work, understanding, labor and involvement than we have ever experienced before. We know that there will be strong opposition from those who oppose the philosophy we hold true. We know that we are not escaping hardship or are entering some sort of paradise or utopia. We also feel that there are millions of people who see what we see, who desire what we desire and who love what we love.

We, like so many others, are willing to invest our lives (however valued), fortunes (however small) and sacred honor (however perceived) to preserving what so many people before us sacrificed to obtain—and for many of them, a sacrifice which first began by moving to another land. Our lives are for the service and furtherance of those sacred things of human value: faith, family and freedom.

The Baldwin family graciously and humbly thanks those of you who have supported us and shown your encouragement!
