America�s kids are attending government schools and universities run by liberals who are indoctrinating them into their �value-free� culture. No one disputes that anymore. Yes, many teachers are wonderful people with no ax to grind and no political agenda. As a matter of fact I have friends who are bleeding heart liberal teachers. But that�s beside the point. What parents need to come to grips with is the Leftist indoctrination going on right under their noses.

Wake up and smell the coffee, people!

If the Left has its way America�s kids will join the ranks of the godless liberals. The rude awakening will come when children who were raised in Christian homes start spewing pure socialist propaganda. Who knows? Your child could become the next Michael Moore or Cindy Sheehan. Does that thought warm the cockles of your heart?

In public schools the prevailing worldview is secular humanism. Schools have become hot beds of multiculturalism, political correctness, moral equivalency and sexual indoctrination. Consequently their hearts and minds have been taken captive by our culture of corruption.

And there�s more indoctrination coming down the pike. Here�s one example. In California the Democrat-controlled Assembly voted in favor of legislation that would revise K-12 public education textbooks, instructional materials, and school-sponsored activities so as to �positively refer to homosexuality as well as bisexuality, trans-sexuality, and transvestitism.� Conservative groups are fighting back. "The liberal majority in Sacramento has made its desires clear. Nothing short of homosexual indoctrination in our schools will please them," said Penny Harrington, Concerned Women for America state director of legislation. "The battle lines have been drawn. Will we offer our children willingly or fight for them?"

Mom�s and Dads, are you willing to fight for the heart and soul of your child?

There�s more. In Ohio evolutionists who oppose Intelligent Design curricula in public school classrooms have formed a group, Help Ohio Public Education, to silence all dissent. �Evolutionists claim that they are not against religion,� said Dr. Patrick Jonston, �they just want religious ideas kept out of science classes. What they fail to acknowledge and want to keep the public from realizing is that their own pre-commitment to naturalism is just as religious as biblical creationism.�[1]

Parents, are you going to allow committed atheists to silence those who dispute their assertions?

Fact: By the time a child graduates from high school, he or she will have spent 11,000 hours in school, 2,000 hours with their parents, 800 hours in church (if they attend church regularly) and 63,000 hours consuming the Internet, computer games, occult books, TV, movies and music.

Fact: �Teens who said they listened to lots of music with degrading sexual messages were almost twice as likely to start having intercourse or other sexual activities within the following two years as were teens who listened to little or no sexually degrading music.�[2]

Fact: On college compasses across America students are exposed to moral depravity, which includes prostitution, pornography, orgies, drunkenness, addictive drugs, raunchy movies, and music with sexually explicit lyrics.

Fact: 80% of kids raised by evangelical Christian parents leave their faith behind when they enter college.

It gets worse. Universities have become the recruiting grounds of the jihad. If this doesn�t run chills up and down your spine, nothing will.

If you love your children--and I know you do--don�t permit our corcorrupt culture to mold them into secular liberals.

"Religious parents should exercise the opportunity that has always been theirs. They should remove their children from state schools with their instruction manuals for turning them into secular liberals, and place them in private schools - or home school them - where they will be taught the truth, according to their parents' beliefs." ~ Cal Thomas

Universities are turning out hundreds of thousands of anti-American, anti-Christian, Neo Marxists, moral relativists. So much for respecting parent�s beliefs.

Yet Christian parents continue to send their teenagers to secular universities and colleges with little or no training on how to defend themselves. They�re being thrown into a den of hungry lions with no weapon to fend off the beasts.

A number of university elites are vehemently anti-American and anti-God. Make no mistake about it; these men and women are intelligent and clever, and they�re on a mission. They want to impose their secularist view on gullible students, especially the ones with a Christian worldview.

In her book �Left Back: A Century of Battles Over School Reform� Diane Ravich argues that textbook publishers are guilty of self-censorship. Hence, students are not taught accurate history. Revisionist history is the name of the game. The dictionary defines revisionism as advocating �the revision of an accepted, usually long-standing view, theory, or doctrine; especially a revision of historical events and movements.� Many professors advocate revisionism in an attempt �to alter the way a people views its history and traditions in order to cause that people to accept a change in public policy. For example, during the 150 years that textbooks described the Founding Fathers as being devout men and Christians who actively practiced their faith, civic policy embraced and welcomed public religious expressions. But in recent years as the same Founders have come to be portrayed as atheists, agnostics, and deists who were opposed to religious activities, public policies have similarly been reversed.�[2]

Gone are the days when an educator�s concern was to teach children how to think rather than what to think. Columnist Michael Baron has this to say about the elites who run our universities and our schools,

�They teach an American history with the good parts left out and the bad parts emphasized. We are taught that some of the Founding Fathers were slaveholders�and are left ignorant oof their proclamations of universal liberties and human rights. We are taught that Japanese-Americans were interned in World War II�and not thaat American military forces liberated millions from tyranny. To be sure, the great mass of Americans tend to resist these teachings. By the millions they buy and read serious biographies of the Founders and accounts of the Greatest Generation. But the teachings of our covert enemies have their effect.�

The teachings of our covert enemies has also invaded our churches. According to Paul Proctor,

�Many today are simply turning themselves and their kids over to the capricious care of "Manchurian Christians" who teach and encourage them to follow their feelings, follow the crowd and emulate the very culture Jesus Christ came to deliver us from - in the name of Jesus, of course. They have been so thoroughly indoctrinated into the new spirituality of Results and Relationships that they no longer know or really even care what "doctrines and ideas" are being taught at their church today or what activities their kids participate in, as long as everybody is having fun, making friends and occasionally hears that sugary, deceptive and egocentric clich�: "God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life."

�That's like saying: "Love God? - Check here - Thanks for coming - Have a great time!"

Spiritual counterfeits are rampant in all of Christendom. Hence, Christians must be equipped to recognize aberrant and heretical teaching to avoid being taken in by false teachers and cultists. The Bible is clear that believers are to be apologists for their faith. 1 Peter 3:15 says, �Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.� Moreover, Christian parents should have solid answers to their children�s questions about the Bible.

The breakdown of our society is a direct result of liberal social policy. So what�s the solution? First and foremost Christians must start behaving like, well?Christians. As Nancy Pearcey so aptly put it, �We must let go of the worldly motivations that drive us, praying to be motivated solely by a genuine desire to submit our minds to God�s Word?and then use that knnowledge in service to others. She goes on to say, �Outsiders must be able to see for themselves, in the day to day pattern of our lives, that we do not treat Christianity as just a private retreat, a comfort blanket, a castle of fairy-tale beliefs that merely make us feel better.�

In order to achieve this, people of faith have got to stop serving two masters�God and the World. �But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve�But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD" (Joshua 24:15). Who will you serve, God or the World?

Society will continue its downhill slide into the secular humanist abyss unless it�s defeated. How do we go about slaying the dreaded dragon? To begin with, parents have got to stop being friends with their kids and take control! Moms and Dads must become proactive in raising their children. God has entrusted parents with the responsibility of bringing children up with moral character. �Even a child is known by his actions, by whether his conduct is pure and right� (Proverbs 20:11). Kids must learn what the Bible teaches about right and wrong, the value of all life, respect for others, and respect for our laws and our lawmakers. And it wouldn�t hurt if youngsters were taught good manners.

In public schools your child will not learn that God created the world around them. Instead they will learn about Darwinian evolution. They will not be taught about moral purity, they�ll be exposed to sex-ed classes that teach them the proper way to use a condom. They will not be taught that God created woman to compliment man, instead they�ll be taught that homosexuality is normal and natural, and that anyone who opposes this lifestyle choice is hateful. Kids from Christian homes will be confused by attacks on the traditional family.

In government schools, no child will ever hear that Jesus is the answer to his or her problems.

The loss of parents as the primary guidance counselors and teachers of children has had dreadful consequences. �Age-old Biblical wisdom tells parents to �shepherd� their child�s heart. A book called �Shepherding a Child�s Heart� puts it this way: �Speak to the heart of your child. The things your child does and says flows from the heart. Luke 6:45 puts it this way, �...out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.� (NIV).�[4]

What else can parents do? Immerse your children in a biblical worldview. �Why is our worldview important?� asks the Rev. Mark D. Roberts. �Because it shapes how we think and act every moment.� For parents who are up to the challenge, homeschool your kids. If you�re unable to homeschool and your kids attend a government school, pay attention to what they�re learning in the classroom. Read their textbooks. Attend parent teacher conferences and ask teachers probing questions. Most importantly, talk to your kids. Take advantage of teachable moments, especially with your teens. Monitor what they�re being exposed to in books, on TV, at the movies, in the music they listen to, and on the Internet. Talk about it! Explain why it�s immoral. Expose the motivations that create such filth. Are the behaviors they�re witnessing right or wrong? Does blatant immorality produce a healthy society?

Parents should never feel like they�re powerless. A group of parents in Oveland Kansas took the bull by the horns when they discovered some of the things their children were assigned to read,

�Janet Harmon, one of the parents, told Concerned Women for America (CWA) her reaction to her son reading one of the books: �This is a 14-year-old freshman boy, and [the book] had references to oral sex and homosexuality. I thought it was a mistake!

When these parents spread the word about the books� contents to others, they were met with disbelief.

To address the school�s failure to provide appropriate reading material, Janet joined Lisa Friedrichsen and Sherry Millen to create Classkc.org (Citizens for Literary Standards in Schools), a Web site to inform parents about the contents of their children�s reading material and about how to get involved to make changes.�[5]
