SILENT ASSERTION ON MASS IMMIGRATION

In 1964, the United States population remained at a sustainable 194 million people. The American female maintained a 2.03 fertility level that would have balanced U.S. population at 255 million. After the 1965 Immigration Reform Act, however, legal and illegal immigration-driven-population-growth added 106 million people in 40 years. By October, 2006, America will exceed 300 million people. The United States population will double sometime past mid century to over 600 million. The problems created will be irreversible and unsolvable.
Today, most Americans accept legal immigration as a vital aspect of American history. That was when this country enjoyed 75 million people in 1905 driving horses and riding trains. Today, America features 299 million people driving cars and burning 20 million barrels of gasoline daily—not to mention voracious use of food, wood, natural gas, coal, electricity and water.
Whether adding 1.5 million legal immigrants annually and 1.5 to 3.0 million illegal migrants annually according to Time Magazine September 20, 2004, any kind of mass immigration in 2010 stands as an environmental catastrophe for future generations.
Mark Twain said ‘silent-assertion’ stood as the “shabbiest of lies.” In 1855, northern leaders and intellectuals refused to speak against slavery. Today, with the United States being populated by millions of legal and illegal immigrants, ‘silent-assertion’ continues while America suffers in every sector of her society. Citizens and leaders sit while our educational standards degrade, medical systems suffer collapse, diseases spread, welfare fraud grows, language chaos explodes and tax systems are defrauded.
When the rate of immigration exceeds the rate of assimilation it is a recipe for the downfall of any civilization. Look to Paris, France; Sydney, Australia; Amsterdam, Holland and London, England for clues as to America’s future.
When the number of human beings outstrips the ‘carrying capacity’ of a given amount of land, brutal consequences follow. We can no longer keep painting the deck chairs on the Titanic to make them look pretty. We must act by changing course toward a more viable future. Immigrating people from an unending line that grows by 77 million annually is no longer a sustainable or viable course for the United States or her citizens.
As I write these columns for national readership weekly, I continue to be amazed that few Americans understand their own fate or the fate of their children. Few can be bothered. They busy themselves with ‘other’ things. Yet, this national ‘predicament’ cannot be solved by ignoring it. It won’t go away on its own like a hurricane or snow storm. It won’t get better by allowing it to continue. And, most importantly, our U.S. Congress drives it instead of solves it.
For those of you that care about the future, you may well take action at the local, state and federal levels by involving yourself, by running for office, by speaking out at every chance on TV, radio, letters to the editors and in your city councils.

The only way we can change the course of history for our civilization remains with each of us as members of this country that care enough for our children’s futures.
