WHO PERSECUTED JESUS?

After reading and listening to different debates and opinions about Mel Gibson's "The Passion of The Christ" movie, my wife Lorraine and I decided to see it for ourselves. Some people said they hated the film and some said they loved it. We knew the best way to have an informed opinion was to see it for ourselves, and we highly recommend everyone do the same.

So, on it's third day out we got in line, waited three hours, popcorn and drink in hand, to see this highly controversial movie. We were glad we did because here's what was revealed to me.

First of all, this movie was not entertainment. From beginning to end, it was about the cruelty inflicted on an innocent man.

Who were the perpetrators that hated Jesus so much as to subject Him to so much pain and suffering? The persecutors of Jesus were the religious leaders of His time. Why did they hate Jesus so much? The reason was obvious -- among other things, Jesus taught that the Kingdom of Heaven was within. This threatened the self-righteous religious leaders (power over the people) power-structure.

Who really killed Jesus? Since the religious leaders' law forbade them to murder Jesus, they manipulated the Roman government (the state) into doing their evil, dastardly deed.

The Roman police (government employees) did the actual beating, obeying orders as they sold their souls for a few pieces of silver. They laughed and enjoyed tying an innocent man to a pole, severely beating and mocking Him, and enjoyed watching Him suffer. What I realized was that the Roman police had utter hatred and contempt for the people, and if Jesus was to come back today, He would be persecuted all over again.

Who would His judges be and what court would He be taken? To our modern day courts in front of our black-robed judges, of course! The modern day state would persecute Him all over again and the modern day police, following orders to arrest an innocent man, would unequivocally sell their souls for a paycheck, because today's guilty system still hates and persecutes those who speak the Truth.

Have you noticed that they're obeying orders to remove all religious icons off all public property?

Our church-attending politicians tell us that we need to compromise and get along. If compromise is so good, how come things are getting worse instead of better? Obviously we are compromising in the wrong direction! And, what right does a church-attending politician have to compromise our God-given rights away? Would Jesus compromise for the sake of consensus and social harmony? Not on your life! And that is precisely why they murdered Him.

The luke-warm, politically correct Christian(?) churches of today are selling America down the river. They are the enemy within the gates who pretend to be your friends.

"This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."
-- Matthew 15:8-9

What is the true meaning of the word "Christian"? To me it means Christ-like. Are we Christ-like? Hardly!

  • Every time we resent (hate) some one for their opinion - we hate Christ.
  • Every time we are impatient and mean - we hate Christ.
  • Every time we judge someone falsley (paying God) - we hate Christ.
  • Every time we're impatient with a little child - we hate Christ.
  • Every time we gossip behind someones back, lie, cheat, steal or manipulate - we hate Christ.
  • Every time we look at pornography, giving in to lustfulness - we hate Christ. Etc., etc., etc.....

Most who profess to be Christians are phony. This is why America is losing the battle. Most 'talk the talk' but don't 'walk the walk'. There is nothing more repugnant to Jesus then those who talk 'Jesus', but don't live His Commandment: -- "Love one another as I have loved you".

It's about the betrayal of the religious leaders of Jesus' day who hated an innocent man who exposed their religious phoniness and threatened their purpose for existence. How is it any different today?

Can a blind man lead you through a dense forest? Can compromising, politically correct church/synagogue leaders bring you to God?

Before you point your finger at anyone, look at your hand and see the 3 remaining fingers pointing at you. Let those among you who are without sin (blame) cast the first stone, said Jesus.

There is nothing worse than a church-attending Christian, or any other religion, who professes to love the Lord, and hates the Jews, or anyone else.

Truth is the light of the world. Sin/deceitfulness is the darkness.

In my opinion this movie is not about Jews, it's about evil, and evil comes in all colors, races and religions.
