WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO PARENTS?

God has always had a high priority for children. It is obvious that our children are our future. Without them we have no future as a society. That is why it is necessary to raise our children up in the reverential fear and admonition of the Lord. Scripture tells us in Ephesians 6:4 "And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." God has never allowed the mistreatment of children in any manner. Even when the disciples held the children back from Jesus He rebuked the disciples: Mark 10:13 "And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. (14) But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God."

In the Old Testament the worship of false gods required the sacrifice of children which God detested: Jeremiah 32:35 "And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin." When God mentions something once in scripture we need to pay attention. When He mentions if twice we really need to pay attention but the reference to child sacrifice He mentions 15 times! There is no doubt that God intends for mankind to treat children kindly. God even cares how a man treats animals: Proverbs 12:10 "A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.", and if He feels that way about animals, how much more does He want us to treat our children with loving kindness?

In today's society we are seeing a very disturbing trend that shows an increasing number of parents that simply have no regard for their children. Part of the blame has to go onto the church but our places of so-called education are part to blame as well. When neither the church nor our education system teaches personal responsibility it leads only to a complete breakdown in society as a whole.

Looking at 2005, the report from National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System shows a staggering number of children being abused. According to NCANDS whose latest statistics are for 2005 an estimated 3.3 million referrals of child abuse or neglect were received by public social service or CPS agencies. Of these referrals, 899,000 children were confirmed to be victims of abuse or neglect (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2007). That means about 12 out of every 1,000 children up to age 18 in the United States were found to be victims of maltreatment in 2005 (USDHHS, 2007).[1]

Because there are many agencies that collect information on child abuse different information is collected but for this article we will look at the 2005 statistics. Also remember that some children may suffer multiple types of abuse.

Here are the categories defined in the 2005 report:

Neglect 62.8%
Physical Abuse 16.6%
Sexual Abuse 9.3%
Emotional/psychological abuse 7.1%
Medical neglect 2.0%
Other 14.3%
[2]

Another report shows the astounding number of child deaths as a result of abuse:

1,520 child fatalities in 2013 and rising
71.4% child fatalities due to neglect
1.8% of fatalities were caused by psychological abuse
1% of fatalities were caused by sexual abuse
46.8% of fatalities were caused by physical abuse
8.6% of fatalities were caused by Medical neglect
23.2% of fatalities were caused by multiple maltreatment
60-85% percent of child deaths resulting from abuse or neglect are not recorded as such do to the lack of comprehensive investigations
80% of child abuse fatalities are children 4 and under. These children are the most vulnerable for many reasons, including their dependency, small size, and inability to defend themselves.
Over 5 children die every day as a result of child abuse. More than 80% are under the age of 4.
Less than 1% of child abuse fatalities happen in Foster Care.

As a parent I cannot imagine how one can mistreat a defenseless child to the point of causing physical harm. I have read stories of where a father or stepfather has beaten an infant to the point of several broken bones, collapsed lungs, concussions and other injuries that have actually caused the death of the infant. How can an adult be so callous as to do such a thing to a small child?

There is only one explanation and that is society has begun the downward spiral that will end up in a society steeped in chaos and violence. Paul warned us about those times in 2Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

(2) For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
(3) Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
(4) Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
(5) Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." I believe that we are in those days. We see in the news literally on a daily basis how people are more concerned about themselves and what makes them happy. They don't want to be inconvenienced in any way. There have been over 55 million babies aborted since the 1973 Roe vs Wade decision. Over 95% of these abortions have been for convenience not for 'healthcare'. God warned us about this. He warned about shedding innocent blood and there is no more innocent blood than that of an unborn child.

Our society has gone from a society that valued life at all stages to a society that values the life of an animal more than that of a human being. Save the eagle, save the whale, save the polar bear but kill the unborn human. One of the great ocean explorers, Jacques Cousteau, was more concerned about animal life than human life and stated "It's a terrible things to say. In order to stabilize world populations we must eliminate 350,000 people per day. It's a horrible thing to say, but it's just as bad not to say it." Dr. Lamont Cole, a professor at Cornell University, stated: "To feed a starving child is to exacerbate the world population problem. " One late term abortionist, Warren Hern, did not have anything good to say about the human race, which he is a part of: "The human species is an example of a malignant ecotumor, an uncontrolled proliferation of a single species that threatens the existence of other species in their habitats..." he wrote in a paper published in Population and Environment in 1990.

He concluded that, "The idea that the human population is a planetary cancer is a profoundly disturbing conclusion, but the observations of the scientific community over the last 20 years have provided massive support for this hypothesis and little, if anything, to refute it." Even Microsoft's Bill Gates believes that we need to depopulate. I've noticed, like Ronald Reagan did, that all the people that are for abortions have already been born! You have to ask yourself if God was so incompetent that He designed a faulty system that could not support the population of the world or did man abort the people that God had destined to devise a plan to be able to feed the word? Just asking.

From these attitudes that are being taught in our entire school system our children are being indoctrinated into a political philosophy that does not value the individual life, only the collective. Jesus tells us in John 10:10 "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." When the life of a child is taken it is the result the actions of someone that is influenced by demonic forces. No normal person could treat a child in such an ill manner as to cause such severe physical trauma and even death.

As I stated earlier the church is partly responsible and that is a large part. Not many churches teach the true Word of God any more. They have their finger in the air testing the winds to see how society is going. Preachers are supposed to tell the people what they need to hear not what they want to hear. Paul told us in 2Timothy 4:3 "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; (4) And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." We have reached those times. Churches call evil good and good evil. It is very difficult to find a church that will teach the uncompromised Word of God.

Society will not be able to continue long on the road that it is on. It will reach the point of no return where all just men will be hated. We are seeing the beginning of that today. The end days are here. We are in them and I believe we are in the last of the last days. It is time to look up for your redemption draweth nigh.
