IS AMERICA TOO YOUNG TO DIE?

By Betty Freauf

On January 17, 2010 in our local Statesman Journal newspaper the headline read, Measures 66 and 67 pits business against labor. On January 26 Oregonians will vote on a referendum to overturn huge tax increases implemented by the Democrat-controlled Oregon legislature in 2009 and which the Democrat Governor was more than happy to sign. The article was illustrating how the respective groups were raising money. But the headline was deceiving because if the truth was told, it is business against government union workers with vested interest in the passage of these two initiatives.

On the morning of January 19th conservative talk radio pundits were talking about the Massachusetts Special Election to replace former Senator Edward Kennedy and how the suburban tea-baggers were coming out of their comfortable homes waiting in long lines in miserably cold weather to cast their ballots and how signs were up all over those areas for Massachusetts Republican legislator Scott Brown. The Democrats considered Attorney General, Martha Coakley a sure winner. So sure, in fact, she went on vacation to the Caribbean at the height of the campaign and that is when Scott Brown made his move.

On that particular morning of the Massachusetts Special Election, it was 8:30 a.m. in Oregon and we had a furnace repairman at our home. It was 11:30 a.m. in Massachusetts. I brought up the exciting Massachusetts election and the first thing he said was that the Republicans were for the rich and those nasty corporations while the Democrats were for the poor. Noticing he was wearing a jacket with a corporate logo on it, I reminded him this nasty corporation and his employer were giving him a job while so many others are not working. He seemed completely oblivious that President Obama and his Chicago thugs have been nationalizing many industries this past year by creating monopolies for their friends that could eventually put his job in jeopardy.

Can you imagine what will happen to the competition between health insurance companies if Universal Health passes and jobs lost at these insurance companies will be at the mercy of Obama and AARP’s insurance company? There will be no competition and health insurance premiums will soar. Unemployed insurance workers will look to Barack for work and all will be forced to become unionized like Barack is hoping to do with the workers at the Transportation Security Agency (TSA), a subsidiary of Homeland Security, created under Republican President George W. Bush. This doesn’t just apply to the insurance industry, it applies to all industries that Barack is nationalizing, controlling and unionizing. The latest I heard was his desire to nationalize the Student Loan program and in our current cash strapped economy the Obama Administration has succeeded in dangling billions of our tax dollars in front of state and private sector businesses seducing them to submit to federal management of local and educational affairs.

My service man finally said the two-parties are meant to get us fighting against each other. I replied, “Bingo!” Communist Class Warfare.

How much background do employees know about the company for which they work? Unless they are born with a silver spoon in their mouths, most companies that later become incorporated upon the advice of attorneys may have had origins in someone’s garage or basement. Let me share portions of a letter an employer wrote to his valued employees as he saw the challenges his business faces during the current economy that helps to illustrate class warfare.

He says while it is easy to spew rhetoric that casts employees against employers he reminds his employees that while they may see his a Mercedes parked outside and when they came to his home for Christmas party, they saw his big house but the story employees don’t see is how he lived in a 300 square foot studio apartment for three years 28 years ago when he started his business and how he put 100% effort into building a company and how his diet consisted of Ramen noodles because every dollar went back into his company. He tells how he drove a rusty Toyota Corola with a defective transmission. He had no time to date and often stayed home on weekends while his friends went out drinking and partying.

His friends had 40-hour a week jobs and made a modest $50K a year and spent every dime they earned. They drove flashy cars and lived in expensive homes and wore fancy designer clothes while he strolled through the Goodwill store. His friends refinanced their mortgages and lived a life of luxury while he poured his money and life into the business and while his employees arrive at the office at 9 a.m. and mentally check in about noon and then leave at 5 p.m., there is no “off” button for him. There is no rest. There is no weekend. There is no happy hour. Every day his business is attached to his hip like a one -year -old special needs child.

He goes on to say the economy is falling apart and while he was the guy who made all the right decisions and saved his money, now he is having to bail-out all the people who didn’t. He describes all the taxes he must pay and because there are so many he has to hire a tax man to manage all the taxes and then he has to pay taxes for employing him. He touches upon the government regulations. He concludes that in order to stimulate the economy, you need to stimulate what runs the economy and if he didn’t have to pay $288,000 into the Washington black-hole, he would have hired more employees and generated substantial economic growth and his employees would have enjoyed the wealth of that tax cut in the form of promotions and better salaries but instead he tells them if any new taxes are levied against him or his company, his reaction will be swift and simple.

He will begin firing, close his company down and move to another country and retire because he’s done with a country that penalizes the productive and gives to the unproductive. (Barack’s Resdistribution of Wealth) His motivation to work and to provide jobs will be destroyed, and with it, will be his citizenship. He tells his employees if they lose their job, it won’t be at the hands of the economy, it will be at the hands of a political hurricane that swept through this country, steam rolled the Constitution and will have changed its landscape forever. If that happens, he says, you can find me sitting on a beach, retired, and with no employees to worry about. Signed “Your boss.”

Later in the day, Glenn Beck came on our TV at 2 p.m. in Oregon. It was his first anniversary and he commented on the Massachusetts special election and how people were waking up. I grin and think, “God is never late. He’s always on time and He remembers Mary Jo Kopechne.” A whole generation hasn’t heard about how Senator Ted Kennedy left her behind to drown in the waters underneath the Edgartown Bridge in July 1969 when his car went off the road. It’s been rumored that Kennedy even joked about Chappaquiddick. The creator who gives us our every breath saw in the future how Massachusetts and a second Boston Tea Party could be a starting point for the rebirth of America and perhaps He thought, “America You Are Too Young To Die” and we’re being given a reprieve.

David Walker, former U.S. Comptroller General was a guest on Glenn Beck’s TV show. I wrote about his warnings in my article America is Insolvent on February 24, 2007. Walker’s family fought and died in the American Revolution. He said the $12 trillion debt isn’t the biggest problem, it’s the off sheet balance obligations which are multiple times greater and threatening. By that I’m assuming he means the future promised entitlements that could be upwards of $100 trillion. He said we have less than five years to be able to demonstrate to China and other foreign lenders that we are going to get our act together and he said President Obama had better step up to the plate in 2010 or we are going to have much higher interest rates with significant adverse affects on the economy. In his book Come Back America he describes how our gerrymandered system that allows entrenched incumbents to remain in office must be changed along with a Constitutional Amendment for Term limits. However, a Constitutional Convention could open up even a bigger kettle of worms.

The Marxist motto: Two Steps Forward, One Step Backward and by using incremental maneuvers under the radar for the past 50 years or so, its agenda has been accomplished. John Stormer writes in his 1964 book, None Dare Call it Treason that almost unnoticed by most Americans, Congress, while appropriating billions for defense against communism, had at the same time given over $6 billion in direct military and economic aid to the communists and he quoted numerous examples and there have been more since 1964.

Then Stormer tells what Nikita Khrushchev predicted in a speech in Bucharest, Rumania on June 19, 1962. “The United States will eventually fly the Communist Red Flag…the American people will hoist it themselves.” Yes, even then the communists were telling how they’d bury us and that we were digging our own graves.

Former FBI agent, Senator Thomas Dodd (D-Conn) was vice chairman of the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee, and a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Speaking in Los Angeles, California on August 28, 1961, just eight months after President Kennedy was inaugurated said:

There is a developing mood of anger and frustration in this country and there ought to be for we are losing round after round in the Cold War and our people do not like it. At the close of World War II, our forces stood triumphant on the land and sea and in the air. We had at our command the mightiest array of military power in all history. Yet, the last 126 years have witnessed a calamitous retreat from victory. During all these years we have suffered defeat after defeat at the hands of international communism. We have retreated from positions after position and committed folly after folly.

Did that frustration and anger finally surface in Massachusetts on January 19th? Will it be sustainable?

Stormer writes another warning had been issued by General Albert C. Wedemeyer, chief of strategic planners during World War II, when he appeared before the House Committee on Un-American Activities. Weyemeyer was asked: “Based on your background and experiences and current studies of the operation of this conspiracy, how late is it on the communist timetable for world domination?”

Richard C. Arens, staff director of the Congressional committee, reported that Wedemeyer dropped his eyes to the floor, looked up and said:

“Sir, my humble, honest judgment is, that it is too late.” Before it was printed, Wedemeyer edited his testimony. He struck out those words and wrote:

“I am not completely a pessimist, but it is very, very late. If I were the senior planner to the Soviet hierarchy, I would advise Khrushechev, “Continue to do exactly what you are doing now. Do not involve the Soviet Union in major war, but employ the satellites in brush fires or limited wars against our enemies, the capitalist countries.” Stormer writes that is exactly what happened. Khrushechev had threatened war to get his way.

And now the Marxist Progressives have their guy in the White House. We are experiencing the evisceration of our sovereignty to a one-world U.N. government. We have the threat of the Muslim invasion and Sharia law. When President Reagan admonished Gorbachev to “take this wall down,” Gorbachev already had his passport and bags packed and he was on his way to the Presidio in San Francisco where he set up the Gorbachev Foundation. He holds several conferences a year to consult with corporate CEOs. He also was founder of the International Green Cross and he admits in the past the communists used the nuclear threat but in the nineties it would be an environmental crisis to save Mother Earth.

While Gorby also gets paid for speaking at certain academic facilities, an October 23, 2993 Human Events newspaper reported the National Republican Senatorial Committee was going to pay Gorby $70,000 to address its top contributors on November 4. When Gorby won the Nobel Peace Prize for ending the Cold War, one wag said it was “a little bit like bestowing the award on Hirohito for surrendering to the U.S. in World War II.”
