AND THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH

With Christmas Day, we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. According to John 1:14, He is not only our Savior through His sacrificial death on the cross, but He is also the "Word of God" made flesh. Therefore when Christians claim they are "saved" because they have accepted Jesus as their Savior and Lord, they must accept Jesus' Biblical admonitions (the Word of God). This is only logical, because if being saved only depended on Jesus' death, He didn't have to spend 3 years teaching us the Word of God presented in THE HOLY BIBLE.

However, we must accept the Word of God (Jesus and Biblical teaching) in order to be saved, and our acceptance must be COMPLETE. Unfortunately, many preachers today allow their church members to believe they can accept Jesus as Lord in most things most of the time and still be saved. For example, Bill Clinton believes he is "saved" even though it's doubtful he has accepted Jesus as Lord of his sex life. The same is true of many so-called Christians who have fornicated despite 1 Corinthians 6:9, which indicates they "shall not inherit the Kingdom of God." Remember, THE HOLY BIBLE is referring here to so-called Christians, because those who reject Christ as Lord and Savior aren't going to heaven anyway, even if they don't fornicate.

Matthew 25:44-46 is an excellent example of the need for one's complete acceptance of Christ, because Jesus is talking to people who profess He is their Lord when He says what they haven't done for those in need, they haven't done for Him. And verse 46 clearly tells those so-called Christians that they "shall go into everlasting punishment."

Regarding those in need, have you personally helped the most vulnerable among us? Have you helped preborn babies not to be aborted? If not, what would be Jesus' judgment of you?

It's not opposing abortion that "saves" a Christian. But if one is really a Christian, if one has COMPLETELY accepted Jesus as Lord, then that person will defend the lives of these little ones made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26).

Jesus' mother Mary was not married when she became pregnant. Therefore, she probably would have been advised by abortion rights advocates to kill her preborn child, Jesus.

What will be God's judgment on a nation that has allowed 50 million babies to be brutally killed by abortion? Similarly, what will be God's judgment on those who purchase products (including Christmas gifts) made in Communist China, even though it's common knowledge that evil regime persecutes, tortures, and brutally kills many Christians who don't bow to their will?

Everyone can do something to end abortions, even if it's just contributing to an organization like the Christian Life Home (www.christianlifehome.com or call 919-510-5400) which helps women who choose not to abort (kill) their babies. According to Jesus' admonition in Matthew 25:44-46, how can you not do something to end this anti-Biblical shedding of innocent blood of children (Proverbs 6:17), and still call yourself a Christian and think you are saved?

Our Declaration of Independence says we are endowed by our Creator with the right to life, and one obviously is "created" prior to birth (Jeremiah 1:5). U.S. Rep. John Bingham who drafted the 14th Amendment to our Constitution protecting the rights of "persons" clearly stated this protected all human beings based upon "those sacred rights" to which our Declaration of Independence referred.

Thus, preborn children should be considered Constitutionally protected "persons." Remember that even Dr. Seuss' Horton the elephant says: "I'll just have to save him. Because, after all, a person's a person, no matter how small."

On December 25, we should celebrate Christmas Day as the birthday of Jesus, rather than making it seem like "Commerce Day" emphasizing materialistic acquisitiveness. And when we celebrate the birth of Jesus as a baby, we should resolve to protect the lives of all babies, including preborn babies.

We must all work to stop abortions as soon as possible. They are the deadliest form of child abuse.
