Our government is full of liars. How can you possibly believe anything they tell you? I’m not just talking about the Obama White House, I’m talking about government in general. What a bunch of freakin’ liars.
How can people act the way that they do? Don’t they have a functioning conscience? Isn’t there anything in them that makes them feel queasy when someone catches them “misspeaking” or “mis-remembering?” (Yeah, that one takes the cake for made up words.) The co-conspiring, lying media permits, and often abets, them in getting away with their deceit.
I feel bad when I lie. I feel bad when I misspell a word in one of these writings. I feel bad when I repeat something that I believed to be true, but later turns out to be false. I feel bad if I cheat in golf. I feel bad when I’m late to a meeting. I feel bad whenever I say something that someone took the wrong way. I feel bad when my wife is taken advantage of.
But we are governed by people who no longer appear to have a functioning conscience. (I wrote a piece on this a couple of years ago titled ‘Governed by Sociopaths’)
Lying is one thing, but not being bothered by lying is something much worse…far worse. Let’s face it: those who are supposed to protect the “public trust” are liars. Is it possible to get elected today without lying? Can an honest man remain honest once he enters into government? At what point are we no longer obligated to follow the edicts of liars?
According to a report that came out this week, the entire narrative about Ferguson, Missouri, was a lie. The “hands up, don’t shoot” slogan was a complete lie. Al Sharpton repeated it. Eric Holder fomented the racial rage. President Obama knew it wasn’t true. A city was burned. Businesses were destroyed. Individual citizens’ lives were destroyed. An innocent police officer had his life destroyed merely for trying to protect it. It was all lies.
Will anyone be held accountable? Don’t count on it. Lying is no longer a sin. Lying is merely a form of “misspeaking” or “mis-remembering.” You’ve done that haven’t you? You’ve misspoken, haven’t you? You’ve used the power of governmental-lies to stir up racial hatred, haven’t you? We all misspeak. Who are you to judge?
The Republican Party is full of liars. Boehner and McConnell are liars. They haven’t done anything that they’ve told us they would do. They parry and parse words as they make excuses for why they don’t keep their word. It is standard operational behavior. Lying has no consequence. There is no “redress of grievances” available to the American people anymore.
Hillary Lies. The IRS lies. Obama lies. Brian Williams lies. Sharing only part of the truth is also lying. FOX News lies. Just gives us the truth…not “fair and balanced” truth. Truth is neither fair nor balanced. Truth does not have two points of view. There are not two sides to the truth. Truth stands on its own. Truth does not require a roundtable of pundits to explain it.
Truth is stark. Truth clears the smoke of confusion. Truth is not an opinion. We have become a nation of lies.
Our pastors are also liars. They pick and choose which ‘truths’ they will speak. This is why the church has lost its power. Jesus told us, “…for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.” (John 18:37) But the pulpits have become “politically correct.” They will not speak about that which Christ came to destroy. They are HIS body, yet they will not represent HIS Truth. They are afraid to offend people.
