OHIO COUNTY GETTING TOUGH ON ILLEGALS
By: Devvy October 25, 2005 NewsWithViews.com The Bush Administration's "security" henchman, Michael Chertoff, pledged earlier this month to "end the catch and release" policy that has allowed millions of illegal aliens to simply vanish inside this country. "Return every single illegal entrant -- no exceptions," Chertoff said in prepared testimony to a congressional committee." One has to wonder why Bush is even bothering to make noises about this massive invasion so far down the road? It certainly isn't about poll numbers. Bush is a lame duck president, a new world order elitist who isn't remotely concerned about the American people or what they want. The first order of business for Bush, as it was for his father before him, is to cement the ordering of the world. Citing an October 18, 2005, CNN report, "Chertoff said that in the just-concluded budget year 120,000 of the 160,000 non-Mexican nationals apprehended by the Border Patrol were released, often on their own recognizance, because there is no place to hold them. "That is unacceptable and we are going to change that immediately." Chertoff said it should be possible to achieve significant progress in reversing that policy in less than a year, noting that his department's budget for fiscal 2006 includes $90 million in new money to add hundreds of beds. He said his agency also plans to expand use of an expedited removal program that could cut the average time in detention from 90 to 45 days....Chertoff agreed with Kennedy that trying to deport all illegal immigrants would not be possible. "It would take billions and billions and billions of dollars to do it," Chertoff said." Chertoff is wrong that it would be impossible to deport all the illegals in the country and using money as an excuse is just that. This unconstitutional invasion of Iraq is costing we the people $7 billion BORROWED dollars a month. A few months ago a figure of $44 billion dollars was tossed around as the cost of rounding up and deporting all these criminals who have smuggled themselves across our borders. I don't know where those numbers came from, but I can tell you the cost of these criminals running around our country has probably already cost the states of the Union more than $44 billion over just the past five years: "In 1994 in California - where in 2003 the state found itself in the red some $25 billion to $35 billion, depending on estimates - then-Gov. Pete Wilson said the state spent $2.3 billion in unreimbursed costs to provide federally mandated services to illegal immigrants: $300 million for health care, $1.7 billion for education and $377 million for corrections. That estimate had risen to $3 billion by 2002. By the spring of 2003, lawmakers said 77 hospitals along the border were facing a crisis. In September 2002, the U.S.-Mexico Border Counties Coalition found U.S. border hospitals spent close to $190 million in 2000 to provide health care to illegals. The study calculated the losses at $79 million in California, $74 million in Texas, $31 million in Arizona and $6 million in New Mexico. It also said that emergency-service providers incurred another $13 million in uncompensated costs. The Federation for American Immigration Reform says that, according to its estimates, illegal aliens soak up $3.7 billion annually in Medicare and Medicaid benefits." "States incur about $13 billion in criminal-justice costs each year in housing illegal aliens, according to her office. Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano, a Democrat, went as far as billing the federal government in February for the cost of housing illegal criminal aliens in state prisons. She fired off a second invoice last month, with interest, when she received what she described as an "unsatisfactory" response from the Justice Department, which administers the program. She said the federal government owes Arizona $195.6 million for fiscal 2003, 2004 and a portion of 2005." "Households headed by illegal aliens imposed more than $26.3 billion in costs on the federal government in 2002 and paid only $16 billion in taxes, creating a net fiscal deficit of $10.4 billion, or $2,700 per illegal household," said Steven A. Camarota, author of the study. The costs outlined in the report include government services such as Medicaid, medical treatment for the uninsured, food assistance programs, the federal prison and court systems, and federal aid to schools." $2,700 of your hard earned income a year is being used to coddle criminals. Could you and your family use that $2,700 for the rent, heating fuel this winter, health care premiums or dental work for your children? Forget it, that money of yours will be used to give free medical care and other perks for illegals. Is it any wonder the middle class is starting to get a taste of sinking into "the working poor?" Do you pay medical coverage premiums to receive health care? Millions of natural born and naturalized Americans cannot afford medical coverage, yet illegals get it from the sweat of your labor: "Something called the "Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act," which mandates that U.S. hospitals with emergency services must treat anyone who shows up--including illegal aliens--was passed by Congress in 1986". See analysis here. Is this what you get up everyday and toil at work to pay for? And who passed this Act? Congress did. The so-called "smaller government" Republican controlled Congress (since 1995) refuses to abolish this insidious "Act." Yet, conservatives continue to vote these same scoundrels back into office - as do those who vote to return the same rotten, corrupt Democrats now serving in Congress. Voting this same Congress back in November '06 will be an act of pure insanity by the people of this nation. There is also the human tragedy. Illegals who attempt to smuggle themselves across our borders don't always make it: "Luna County, N.M. -- On a broiling-hot day in the middle of July, Ambrosia Martinez-Dominguez set out on foot with several companions in Mexico and entered the sprawling New Mexico desert. Her body was found by Border Patrol agents the next day. Like dozens of people before her, Martinez-Dominguez collapsed from heat exhaustion on the way to the promised land. In a ritual carried out almost weekly by New Mexico medical examiners, her remains were retrieved from the desert and taken to Deming, N.M., at a cost of $150 to taxpayers. An additional $330 was spent to transport her corpse north to Albuquerque for an autopsy that cost an additional $2,500. "Between 2000 and today, 90 bodies have been recovered in New Mexico near the Mexican border, state officials said. That number does not include illegal immigrants who died after they were struck by cars while trying to cross busy Interstate 10, or who were killed in accidents when their vehicles transporting them sped out of control, sometimes while fleeing police. "We have so many Mexican nationals in our crypts . . . we really don't know what to do," said Amy Wyman, supervisor of investigations for the New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator. Over the past five years, millions have been spent by states to examine the dead and prepare them for their final rest. But it is only one of the many ways that the uncontrolled flow of immigrants from Mexico is costing border communities that many Americans rarely consider. "Thousands of illegal immigrants are treated at local hospitals often for injuries suffered during the hazardous journey north. At Mimbres Memorial Hospital in Deming, nearly a quarter of all patients treated last year were illegal immigrants who law enforcement officials brought in, or who stepped across the Mexican border, said they had a medical emergency and persuaded a rancher to call an ambulance, said hospital administrator Derrick Yu. The border issue was thrust into the public eye last month when Democratic Govs. Bill Richardson of New Mexico and Janet Napolitano of Arizona declared states of emergency at their borders with Mexico. Richardson's declaration freed $1.75 million to help four border counties: Hidalgo, Dona Ana, Grant and Luna. The Arizona declaration granted law enforcement agencies about $1.4 million. Both governors said that unchecked border crossings are increasingly threatening the well-being of their citizens, and that the fight to stem the tide is draining their financial resources at an alarming rate." Let's not forget identity theft which is a multi billion dollar industry in this country. How do you think these illegals are operating in this country? Stolen identities using forged documents. Let's not forget how many illegals are voting in our elections. This is critical because even a 2-3% participation by illegals can throw an election. How do you think the racist, Antonio Villargarosa, got "elected" as mayor of Los Angeles a few months ago? Not to mention the cost of all these disease ridden illegals smuggling themselves across the border and of course, the terrorists we know have entered this country via the Mexican border. Keep repeating these costs year in and year out and you will blast past that $44 billion dollar estimate in a few shorts years, so don't tell me there's no money to get the job done once and for all. Within 24 hours after Bush's latest announcement which will likely turn out to be another smokescreen while he pushes to give legal status to millions of criminals already here, officials in Butler County, Ohio, launched a new county initiative to get rid of criminals (illegal aliens) smuggling themselves across the border. According to the Dayton Daily News: "Friday, Sheriff Richard K. Jones, county Commissioner Michael Fox and state Rep. Courtney Combs, R-Hamilton, announced a multi-tiered program they said is the first of its kind in the country. Beginning Monday, Jones said he will be requiring a declaration of citizenship from all inmates booked into the county jail. "Combs said he is drafting legislation that will make it a state offense for illegal immigrants to cross Ohio's borders. Fox is working on initiatives to discourage employers from hiring illegal immigrants. The three said they began working on the issue six months ago, but shelved it when racial tensions boiled over in Hamilton after a Hispanic man was accused of raping a girl. In retaliation, two teenage boys set the house on fire, destroying it. The suspect remains a fugitive police said and may have fled to Mexico. "Under the new booking program, Jones said detectives will double-check the inmate's citizenship information against his or her birth records. Those in jail on misdemeanor offenses who falsify their information or are found to be illegal immigrants, will be reported to the federal department of Immigration and Naturalization Services for possible immediate deportation. Those jailed on a felony offense will first stand trial and then face possible deportation. To force INS officials to take the local measures seriously, the sheriff said he intends to bill the federal government $70 a day for every illegal immigrant housed at the county jail." Bravo for these elected officials in Butler County for showing leadership and courage in taking on this critical issue with a forceful game plan. Every county in these united States of America should be making rounding up illegals their number one priority. Round them up, deport them and then bill the federal government. Locating these criminals shouldn't be a problem in some states like Indiana where banks have knowingly given mortgage loans to illegals in violation of federal law, see here. It's time the 50 states Attorney Generals start doing their job or vote their backsides out of office in '06. The AGs for all states of the Union should immediately begin looking into any banks or any other businesses operating within their state boundaries who are knowingly doing any kind of business with illegals and go after them. No fine, either. Banks have lots of money. Sending these bank execs to jail will send the strongest possible message: If you break the law by doing business with illegals then you will serve jail time. The voters should boot out every state legislator who has voted to give criminals (illegals) driver's licenses. Call your state rep and state senator and find out if they have voted to give any "rights" to illegals in your state and then vote them out of office in November 2006. No exceptions. Illegals who are criminals because they violate the law by smuggling themselves into this country, are not entitled to any constitutional rights. They are not citizens and the only thing they can expect is to be deported with the clothes on their backs. If the states don't get tough on this issue, the invasion will continue and may very well turn into a war with Mexico. Vote out all four border governors: Janet Napolitano (Arizona), Arnold Schwarzenegger (California), Bill Richardson (New Mexico) and Rick Perry (Texas). None of them have done their job on this critical issue and only began knee jerking after those fabulous Minutemen became a force to be reckoned with. This invasion of illegals didn't just start two or three years ago, it's been going on for decades. These governors should have played hard ball on this issue the minute they were sworn into office. Why continue to reward non performing employees and that's exactly what elected public servants are: your employee. You hire them, you can fire them and get someone into the Governor's mansion who the guts to get the job done - even if it means putting the National Guard along the border while an effective fence system is built.. Call your congress critter, house and senate and demand that the Department of Justice start indicting and prosecuting banks that are giving home mortgage loans to illegals. Alberto Gonzales, another cockroach in the Bush Administration, is not doing his job as Attorney General of the U.S. because Congress has not done theirs by hauling him in front of an open session. Grill him on why he refuses to prosecute officials at the FDIC and banks in this country who are giving home mortgage loans and opening bank accounts for criminals in violation of federal law? Stop spending your money with any company that knowingly does business with illegals. Call that business and tell them you will no longer patronize them because they are hiring or doing business with criminals. The only thing these companies understand is money and the most effective weapon you can wield is to take your money elsewhere. They will get the message, but you need to tell them why you will no longer do business with them. And, last, but not least: Run for local office - deadlines looming. Please attend every city council and county board of supervisors meeting - that includes all you retirees out there. Park the Winnebago and get to those meetings. Demand paper ballots, hand counted in front of the general public and get rid of these easily rigged machines. Vote fraud is worse than you think. If your elected officials refuse, tell them they will be the target of a recall, and if you don't have recall, make it clear to them they're gone in '06. The 2006 elections are our last hope to get individuals elected who can and will get the job done in saving this republic. Do you really want to "take back America?"
