Each new 911 column brings mixed reactions from Americans who are just beginning to ask questions to those who call me all the usual labels. To give you an idea, here are just two samples with no changes:
"This is nothing I want any part of. I'm canceling right away. You conspiracy theory is nothing but garbage. Enjoy yourself." I have no idea what the reference to canceling right away is, but we're right back to the conspiracy theory rhetoric. I guess the federal government is the only entity that can use 'conspiracy' legitimately.
"Wake up and pull your head out of the sand!!!!!!!! You wouldn't know an actual lie or truth if it jumped into your face and proved itself. I'm never reading your drivel again. The only difference between Bush and Hitler - Hitler could speak." As with the former e-mailer, neither provided any example of what they disagreed with and I feel confident they didn't watch one single minute of the 911 Mysteries: Demolitions. Why? Because watching a video presentation like 911 Mysteries, which contains no political haranguing, no accusations, just science, might force the viewer to ask questions. This is a no-no because too many Americans are afraid to ask questions which is outside their comfort zone and they won't go there. When you're searching for the truth, you can't just ask the comfortable questions.
I would remind people that FDR knew the Japanese were coming and allowed the slaughter of 2400 Americans at Pearl Harbor. This isn't a conspiracy theory, but backed up by official government documents which a federal judge forced the release of from a FOIA lawsuit; see here. This is a very painful truth which cannot be denied because the authenticity of the documents cannot be denied.
There has always been a great deal of speculation about Flight 93 crashing in a field outside the little burg of Shanksville, PA. This bothered me so much, last summer I went there to interview witnesses and get my own impression of what happened; full report here. At the conclusion of my report I stated that in my mind, the county coroner was covering up something and that Flight 93 crashed in that field because I had no other hard evidence to say otherwise. Then came the question: was Flight 93 shot down by our military to prevent it from making it to Washington, DC? We know debris from a plane was found at Indian Lake about seven miles from the crash site. This is unexplainable if the plane had simply gone in unmolested by a missile of some sort. Unless this can be confirmed by testimony from the pilots who allegedly shot it down, it still remains speculation and you can't take that into a court of law.
Many disagree with me and proclaim emphatically that no plane crashed in that field. The reason for this insistence that no plane crashed in the field as shown to the world is primarily due to a press release issued by the Mayor of Cleveland, Ohio, on September 11, 2001, but was withdrawn a few hours later. In this press release, it states Flight 93 made an emergency landing at Cleveland-Hopkins Airport and that all passengers had been taken off the plane; view press release here. Of course, this immediately raised huge red flags. Was this an error made in the heat of total confusion as America watched the World Trade Center Towers burn along with the Pentagon, or did this event at Cleveland-Hopkins really happen? Did flight 93 land, taken to a "secure location" and passengers "evacuated"? You see, this is the million dollar question regarding theories about the Pentagon and Flight 93: If Flights 77 & 93 didn't crash as believed, where are the planes and the passengers? Judicial Watch filed a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request to get all the videos running on September 11, 2001, from cameras around the Pentagon. Earlier this year, DOJ released the same frames most of us saw a year ago; click here. This is the same film recently released to JW. This video is in slow motion, but I had to watch it over and over before I could finally see what appears to be a white plane that looks very small, but it's so hard to tell because it literally takes a split second to hit the building. Because it's so fast, you just can't see what kind of plane and it looks so small and tiny compared to the length of the building. Almost two weeks ago, Judicial Watch released another video they received from DOJ purporting to show a plane hitting the Pentagon. This one is from the CITGO gas station; click here. To say this video is a joke is putting it mildly. Not only does it show nothing but static blurred images, the date on the upper left hand corner is 01-01-93!
JW isn't the only organization filing FOIAs. Ed Haas of the Muckraker Report filed a FOIA regarding the authenticity of the infamous Bin Laden tapes. He received the standard reply I have received to some of mine: "....Department of Defense...lacks the records that document the authenticity and the factualness of the reported circumstances surrounding the discovery of the December 13, 2001 Osama bin Laden "confession video" - that there is not government provided evidence to accompany and substantiate what the government has told us about the "confession video" - it's time to revisit recent history from a dutiful perspective." The feds are saying these Bin Laden videos plastered all over the world via satellite TV they claim have been authenticated don't have any records to prove they're authentic or factual! How many billions are the taxpayers pouring into "intelligence operations" and this is the best they can come up with?
At this point in time, what we have is speculation that Flight 93 landed at Cleveland based on a press release later withdrawn. Civilians have a difficult time in getting answers and hard documents on 911 and other "events" such as the OKC bombing, TWA Flight 800 and Waco. Family members and journalists have done incredible work in digging for the facts for all the aforementioned because what we seek is the truth. We the people are doing the job the government refuses to do because their hands are dirty. On that note, and because I want to know if Flight 93 did or didn't land in Cleveland, I filed a FOIA on November 14, 2005 against the FAA seeking routine data which is released to the public all the time without a FOIA. I had been trying to get this documentation through a friend who has a good working relationship with a member of Congress, but this request was being stonewalled, so I had no other choice but to file a FOIA requesting:
All take off and landing logs for Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport for September 10, 11 and 12, 2001. This list of landings and take offs at Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport should include: All flights which landed from midnight to midnight (24 hour period) on those dates. All flights which took off (departed) from midnight to midnight (24 hour period) on those dates. This list should include the carrier (i.e., United, Delta, American Airlines), the flight number and time landed. The same would apply for all flights which departed this airport on those dates during the 24 hour period: carrier, flight number and departure time.
On January , 2006, I sent a certified letter to the FAA asking why they refuse to process my FOIA. On February 14, 2006, I again sent another certified letter notifying them there still was no response and that they were clearly in violation of the legally mandated time for response. On February 28, 2006, I received an electronic response from a Vicki Morris at the FAA. This mail wasn't even directed to me, it was a copy of her e-mail to someone named Karyl (no other identifying information or agency) asking this individual for some information regarding hold on requests for the dates in my FOIA. Upon receipt of this baloney, I e-mailed Ms Morris with the request she process my FOIA.
On April 15, 2006, I sent another certified letter to Morris reminding her that I still have not received the information I requested. On June 15, 2006, I received a letter from the FAA notifying me that they're busy gathering, scanning and indexing all agency 911 records and should be finished in about three months. Of course, this is just more stalling so I notified them back that if they didn't get my FOIA processed by September 19th, I would sue them. No surprise, they never responded. On September 19, 2006, I filed a lawsuit in in the U.S. District Court, Midland, Texas, Case No. MO-06-CV 119. Much to my shock, the filing fee went from $150 to $350! Let me tell you it hurt to write a $350 check because I live on a very tight budget and can't print up money when ever I need it. I don't have some big media organization behind me with a fat budget.
I can tell you from experience that the government will stall and use every trick in the book to fight this FOIA. I have filed FOIAs in the past, i.e., obtaining McVeigh's medical records and the lying - supported by their own documentation - is beyond sickening. But, I feel it is absolutely imperative that we the people find out if Mayor White made an honest mistake that day in the confusion or did Flight 93 land at Cleveland. And, I feel so strongly about it, I shelled out the $350 filing fee. The defendants have 60 days to respond to the lawsuit; I will keep readers updated.
As for those who continue to sling the ever popular Ministry of Propaganda labels like conspiracy nuts, I suggest we the people demand the federal government prove their version of events: prove fire brought down the World Trade Center Towers. Prove there were actually 19 foreigners who hijacked those four jet liners and provide their real identifies with iron clad documentation. (Based on some hard research, it appears that some of the alleged hijackers are alive; see here.) I submit to you they can't and neither can popular pro-war media mouthpieces like Shawn Hannity and Bill O'Reilly or Popular Mechanics Magazine.
