If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack. —Winston Churchill
One ought never to turn one's back on a threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do that, you will double the danger. But if you meet it promptly and without flinching, you will reduce the danger by half. Never run away from anything. Never! —Winston Churchill
Every year I've tried to do a Christmas article that will touch the hearts of NWVs readers. In 2012, I wrote, "The Christmas Thing," and in 2014, "Kissed By God." I believe both articles were written, not by me, but by the Holy Spirit who inspired me. This year is a little different approach.
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is a God of second chances. How many second chances he gave to His beloved Israel in the Old Testament, and how many second chances He gives to His people today when we stumble and fall. Yes, God gives second chances, and sometimes reprieves, even to nations.
Remember the story of the city of Nineveh, Jonah, and the big fish? The entire story is only four chapters long in the book of Jonah. It starts out with God telling Jonah to go to the great city of Nineveh and cry out against it because of its wickedness. Jonah ran from God because the last thing he wanted to do was to go to evil Nineveh. So Jonah paid the fair for travel on a ship to Tarshish. A fierce storm arose and the seamen even threw cargo overboard to lighten the load. The Captain of the ship wanted to know who brought this storm upon them, so lots were cast and Jonah was found to be the guilty party.
They asked Jonah what they should do to stop the tempest, and Jonah told them that since he was the cause, to toss him into the sea. What awaited was a great fish that swallowed Jonah up. He was in the belly of this fish for one 24 hour period and parts of two other 24 hour periods which makes up three days. Each part is counted as a full day.
Jonah prayed and the Lord told the fish to vomit Jonah out of its belly onto dry land. At this point Jonah knows there's no escaping going to Nineveh and preaching what the Lord tells him to preach. So, Jonah went and told Nineveh they'd be overthrown in 40 days unless they repented and returned to God.
The King of Nineveh sat in sackcloth and ashes, a symbol of sorrow, repentance, helplessness, and despair. So what does Jonah do? He gets angry because he knew God would spare the Ninevites if they repented, and he did not want these enemies of Israel to be spared. Jonah forgot that God spared him even though he was disobedient. So, Nineveh was spared for a time at least. Can the Lord spare America? I believe He's giving us a second chance, but perhaps the last one.
Presidential Candidate, Mr. Donald Trump
Obviously Donald is no Jonah, but he has come to preach the truth to America, a truth we've not heard out of Republican candidates' mouths for over 50 years. The fact is that Donald Trump is not a globalist, new age puppet whose strings are pulled by the masters of America's destruction. This makes him quite dangerous to the elitists on the right and left.
Mr. Trump isn't perfect, but he listens to the people, and he can be educated on the many unconstitutional laws that have been passed and need to be erased. Those who dislike Trump say he's brash, a braggart, cocky and narcissistic. In a recent article in Town Hall, the author told of a Trump hater who said we needed another Winston Churchill instead. Obviously, the Trump hater didn't realize what a mouth Mr. Churchill had on him. Winston said exactly what he was thinking every time. Mr. Trump has not done that. What Trump has stated is the same thing American taxpayers have been saying to each other, especially about Islam and the illegal alien refugees. This is why he resonates with the people.
Other Trump haters have said that Trump doesn't meet the Christian criteria. One article went on to mention some of the Bible heroes and how well they'd fare in a presidential run. Moses wouldn't stand a chance because he murdered a man, had a terrible temper, and was married to Zipporah, a black woman. Of course King David wouldn't make the cut either as he lusted after a married woman, took her as his own, had the husband murdered in battle, and then admitted it all. Others were mentioned, Samson, Abraham, and even Jesus Christ who roasted politicians.
Paul of the New Testament would never pass muster as he'd killed many Christians himself before he came to faith. The MSM would have a field day with all of these Biblical heroes. What the MSM doesn't know is that a huge amount of Christians love Mr. Trump.
Trump looks pretty tame compared to our men of the Bible, but Trump knows what has happened to America and like us, he doesn't like it. He wants to make America great again, and because he's beholden to no one, he can say exactly what he wants to say and expose the reality of what's happened to our beloved country. When the left, right, and MSM go after him, he brushes them away like a pesky insect.
Phyllis Schlafly believes that Trump is the "Last Hope for America", I agree. I believe God is giving us another chance with Mr. Trump. He's an outsider, and he's a skilled and brilliant businessman who could run this nation quite well. Will we have a Nineveh, a respite from the destruction? I believe we have the chance, and that God is handing it to us on a platter. It's now up to us. Please pray for this man, pray for our country, and cover Mr. Trump with a hedge of protection. God willing, we can turn the tide with Donald Trump at the helm.
