Other Sheriffs Need to Take The Lead

THE EROSION CONTINUES
By Jim R. Schwiesow March
26, 2007 To say that we are currently living in the goofiest of times since the inception of the nation is an understatement of monumental proportions. These times are not just different they are soaked in madness and insanity. Daily we are a witness to the downhill slide of the country in regard to the erosion of rights and liberties, and we are given a front row seat to the ascendancy of treachery and deviousness in our government offices. We also find that the societal conditions of our non-governmental institutions are no less dishonest and debauched. Our schools resemble brothels more than institutions of learning. Teachers are fornicating with students all over the place, and this disease has filtered down even to the junior high level of the national educational system. Here and there we see a few bright spots of sanity, but not enough to bring any ray of hope that the system will recover to the point of its former excellency of several decades ago. There is no authority or control over the system. The moral leadership is weak or non-existent. The teachers unions dominate with their egocentric agenda, and they view the students only as a means to an end. That end is a totally selfish quest for ironclad security and a guarantee of never-ending tenure for even the most deprived in terms of both ability and moral character. The entire system is being ruled from the bottom up instead of from the top down. If there is one institution in the nation that escapes this putrescence, I dont know about it. This country is a mess, and yet the national media trumpets how wonderful we are. Oh, we have money all right, but we have no morals and no scruples. From the perspective of the media it is better to be rich and dishonorable than to be poor and honorable. The institutions of the government have been corrupted from the top to the bottom. Not one facet of our system escapes the insidious rot, which eats away at the pillars, upon which the nation was built. One can no longer gaze upon the Office of President with any pride or feeling of admiration. That office has been sullied by a series of perverts and tyrannical despots, who either cavorted around like deviates or lumbered through the office with autocratic abandon. This week the pollsters queried a number of citizens as to whether or not Attorney General, Alberto Gonzales, should be pilloried for the political firing of eight U.S. Attorneys who serve, and always have, at the pleasure of the president. Not surprisingly a very large majority of both Republicans and Democrats, who have absolutely no idea of the legitimate political ins and outs of their government, opined that Mr. Gonzales should resign and do penance for the firings. People seem to have exceedingly short memories. Is there no recollection of the fact that Bill Clinton, as president, fired an entire staff of U.S. Attorneys? He did so without compunction or remorse, it was a part of the political spoils of his victory, and he availed himself of those spoils with relish. I do not recall that any polls were conducted as to the validity or rightness or wrongness of his actions in these firings. Whether or not polls are conducted apparently depends entirely on whose Ox it is that is being gored. The truth is that Mr. Gonzales is being politically excoriated for the wrong reasons. The fact that he is around for an objurgation over these political firings is in itself ridiculous. In point of fact he should have been fired long ago for his dirty dealings with foreign agents in regard to the setup and prosecution of those who protect our borders from criminal intruders. His complicity in the program to railroad two patriot border patrolmen and a Texas deputy sheriff into prison for righteously doing their duties merits him our deepest execration. The commendable performance of these officers in protecting and securing our borders against criminal aliens and foreign drug runners makes them worthy of our highest commendation for excellence in the performance of their duties. Instead Mr. Gonzales and his conspiratorial henchman, U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton, corroborated with foreign agents to fabricate the charges, which put these dedicated officers in prison. To add insult to injury Gonzales and company engineered the intrigue, which completely absolved the foreign felons who came against these dedicated lawmen of their criminal conduct. Gonzales and his alter ego Sutton were protected in this skullduggery by the fact that their commander-in-chief, George Bush, was likewise involved in this conspiracy to condemn patriotic Americans to prison. The president has been kissing the butt of the Mexican government in order to facilitate his dreams of a North American Union. Those who have failed to pick up on the traitorous and reprehensible sell-out of the peoples sovereignty by the president in his quest for an amalgamation of the United States into a North American Union along with Mexico and Canada are either obtuse or deluded. From the mail that I have been receiving from Canadian citizens I have picked up on the fact that they would also like to preserve their national identity and protect their heritage. They want no part of such a setup. Mexico is another story; they are so corrupt, socially backward, and culturally deprived that they have nowhere to go, but up. Just to entertain the thought that the U.S. would eventually be merged culturally with Mexico is enough to scare a buzzard off of a rotting corpse. To get back to the point, the present condemnation of Gonzales for his perfectly legitimate act in the firing of these attorneys is beautiful in that it amounts to justice, which has been too long delayed. What goes around comes around, and Mr. Gonzales and company are now on the end of that circle, and are paying the price for their deceit and treachery. Of course none of the above, in regard to perverseness of the country, would have been possible without the complaisance and acquiescence of the American people. It may be disconcerting to some to hear this, but the absolute truth is that the entire population of this country is as much responsible for the perversion, the moral decadency, and the progressive putrefaction as those reprehensible politicians who are so rightly condemned. Millions in this country are caught up in utterly depraved and filthy life styles, and when our people are polled in regard to these perversions a very large majority of those polled have expressed their approval for such foulness. Righteousness in this country has gotten up and scurried away on spindly legs like a spider skittering into a dark corner. Paul the Apostle wrote the following, But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God having a form of godliness, but denying its power. From such stay away. This is a powerful treatise by Paul. And whether we are or are not living in the last days it fits our society like a glove. I say this knowing that this very statement will enrage many and bring into play some vitriol. Nobody values an honest appraisal; it is always difficult and disconcerting to be introspective in regard to our moral failings. This is why our pastors are so reticent about preaching the truth from the pulpit. If they preach the truth they will most likely be forced to leave so that their parishioners will no longer have to face their shortcomings. One hates to admit turpitude or an association with turpitude. We would rather stick our heads in the sand and pretend that we are basically good and undeserving of condemnation or censure. This is in complete opposition to Biblical teachings.
We have always had the luxury of being able to look back upon the societies of other times and wonder about the failings of the people, which allowed truly decadent governments to come to power. What a great feeling of self-satisfaction we have derived from looking upon Germany during the Nazi era, Russia during Bolsheviks times and the other Godless derelict societies in history and then comparing our culture with those, which allowed tyrants to come to power with such dire effects. Well we can quit patting ourselves on the back. We have arrived, and are finding that we have been taken captive by the same national apathy and cowardly assent, which allowed those people to be taken over with such devastating consequences. It would be extraordinarily good to be able to heed Pauls admonition to stay out from among them, but that is extremely difficult when the entire nation is seemingly immersed in a cultural cesspool. 2007 - Jim R.
