My last two columns dealt with promises by the new Trump administration to give the American people a transparent government instead of more secrecy and lies to protect rotten, crooked politicians, unelected bureau-rats and those – military or civilian – who are still in their jobs and outright hate President Trump.[1]

It’s taken 62 years to release the files who really killed President Kennedy? A 62-year cover-up. Yes, promises have been made to release everything that’s been withheld, 63,400 pages which I haven’t read. However, many who are combing through those pages say it’s pretty much nothing we haven’t known for decades. [2] I’ve read several books on the assassination. One in particular is worth the time to read: The Man Who Knew Too Much: Hired to Kill Oswald and Prevent the Assassination of JFK by Dick Russell (Amazon)
If you read my two columns above you know the cover-ups and those responsible are still walking free (just like the OKC bombing) but perhaps we are making headway.
I’m guessing probably 90% of the American people have no idea what happened regarding KAL Flight 007 which happened 42 years ago in 1983.
Incident at SAKHALIN The True Mission of KAL Flight 007, Mine, November 19, 1999:
“For those who might be unfamiliar with this tragedy, on September 1, 1983, KAL Flight 007 was allegedly shot down by the Ruskies with all 269 civilians perishing in this crash, including United States Congressman Larry McDonald. Of all the accounts I have ever read, no luggage and no bodies or remains have ever been found. Incident at Sakhalin is not only compelling, it screams with cover-up, deception and demonstrates how this puppet government has decayed almost beyond redemption.
“Like Waco, OKC, TWA Flight 800 and Vince Foster, just to name a few major “incidents” in America, KAL 007 is another reprehensible and immoral cover-up. When enough Americans find out the truth about these tragedies, they will shed their final innocence and recognize how evil this puppet government has become over the past 90 years.
“I have found this particular incident quite fascinating since 1994 and have done a great deal of reading up on it from various sources, trying to sift through the conspiracy people’s fantasies to on- site investigation of the crash site and surrounding terrain.
“However, nothing prepared me for Incident at Sakhalin – the truth literally jumped from the pages and left me stunned. Sometimes it’s strange how things sometimes happen but I recently did a book review for this site regarding a new 1999 publication titled War Scare. Dr. Pry’s work reinforces what the author of Incident at Sakhalin discovered. These cross-references of some material between these two works lends a great deal of credibility to a massive cover-up.
“I personally wish to say God bless you Mr. Brun for all the sacrifices you had to make to bring the truth to light. The same applies to Mr. & Mrs. John Keppel for their sacrifices in helping bring the light of day on this travesty kept from the American people…
“Contrary to “official” reports from the United States and the International Civil Aviation Organization, KAL 007 was not shot down over Sakhalin but was destroyed off Honshu, the main Japanese island, nearly an hour later than the reports claimed and by means and for reasons still not clear.” (That’s a lie.)
“To say Incident at Sakhalin had me riveted to my reading chair is an understatement; it also raised the specter of absolute fear in my gut. Fear for something so lost in our great Republic, fear of how close America came to nuclear war and fear that the American people have become so apathetic, so dumbed-down and so “I, me, my” that they no longer care who this government kills as long as it doesn’t disturb their self-induced coma that protects their comfort zone. As you read the report below, let me quote from page 4 of Incident at Sakhalin:
“At precisely ten o’clock, the South Korean minister of foreign affairs announced that he had received confirmation from the CIA that “the plane had landed at Sakhalin. The crew and passengers are safe.”
Pg 5: “Let us examine the CIA announcement about which so much has been written: The aircraft did not explode in flight and did not crash, but is known to have landed on Sakhalin. The passengers and crew are safe and the aircraft is undamaged.”
Continuing: “Now, another remarkable thing happened back in 1994 during my first run for Congress: I was sent an eye-opening report by an individual in Israel who I didn’t even know, but the content of this material shocked me. Suddenly KAL 007 loomed in front of me and began my intense interest in this case.
“Additionally, this document led me to contact Senator Jesse Helm’s office, which turned out to be a rather intriguing but frustrating dead end, and one which raised big red flags. What I want to know is why Helms’ shelved the investigation and why those senior staffers who worked on the investigation in his office were replaced with a bunch of yuppies?
“Incident at Sakhalin was published in 1995 and I received this report in January of 1994; the report is dated March 1993. This report, which I discussed with Avraham Shifrin on a long-distance call that cost me plenty, contains some amazing allegations that led me to Jesse Helms’ office. I inquired of Mr. Shifrin how is it he had my name and address? He responded by saying that friends in the U.S. had sent them a list of people they thought would do whatever it takes to get the truth out about this “horrible cover-up.” A sigh from a butterfly would have knocked me over upon hearing that.
“One of the important things to remember as you read this: The United States of America and every other “official” mouthpiece for the Ruskies all maintain that KAL 007 was shot down. U.S. Says Soviet Downed Korean Airliner; 269 Lost; Reagan Denounces ‘Wanton’ Act
President Demands Explanation For ‘Horrifying Act of Violence’ – “Santa Barbara, Calif., Sept 1 – President Reagan expressed revulsion today at the reported downing of a Korean Air Lines plane off the Soviet Coast.”
“Let’s read that sentence again: President Reagan expressed revulsion today at the reported downing of a Korean Air Lines plane off the Soviet Coast. Are we to believe that Ronald Reagan expressed revulsion over something that is “reported” to have happened? Are we to believe that with all the sophisticated equipment this nation has funded from planes to encryption devices, and everything in the arsenal of the NSA and DoD, that Reagan reacted with intense outrage over something that has only been “reported?”
“We’re to believe that the President of the United States of America didn’t really know what happened – and, this – two full days later – I’m supposed to believe this malarkey? Either the plane was shot down or it wasn’t and the President would darn well know the truth. Once you read Incident at Sakhalin, you’ll understand why I say this.
“When one considers that this government has repeatedly lied to the American people on one issue after another and that sometimes we don’t find out the truth about certain things until 50 years later, I would say that due to the enormity of the Ruskies holding a U.S. Congressman back in 1983 right at the time of important talks between the U.S. and Russia, that we have been lied to for political expediency. We also have to remember this was 16 years ago, before FOX news, before CNN and the Internet capability we have today. There was ample time and strong-arming to get the cover-up in place, i.e. withdrawing troops from the 32nd Parallel and foreign “aid”.
“Do you really think that the Vice President of Korean Air Lines just hopped a plane to go negotiate for the return of the passengers if there wasn’t something solid to make Mr. Choong-keun get on a flight? Come on. You can bet a number of people were notified that the plane set down either on Sakhalin or right off-shore, the passengers were alive and it was time for tea and talk. Remember Mr. Choong-keun’s statement: “I cannot tell how the plane came to land on Sakhalin….” In his own mind, he was positive the plane had landed and he was on his way to see about the passengers. Do you think Mr. Choong-keun became the vice-president of an airline company because he’s stupid?
“While Mr. Choong-keun was preparing to head for Sakhalin, already there was talk, at least to UPI, that American officials would join in on the negotiations for return of the passengers. Are we to believe that the Korean Broadcasting Service “quoting government officials” that the jumbo jet landed at Sakhalin at 4 a.m. was just a big lie put out? What purpose would that serve? Remember, this is within a few hours after the incident when everything was happening at once – just like OKC, just like TWA flight 800. The Ruskies forced another KAL flight down in 1978 – they didn’t shoot it down – they accompanied it to a forced landing. How come they just decide to blast this one out of the sky? Read Incident at Sakhalin and you’ll see what was really going on over that island.
“Notice the details provided in all coverage on September 1st, yet the next day, suddenly all that is pushed aside in favor of the Russians blasting the plane out of the sky. Not consistent at all, just like OKC and TWA Flight 800. Suddenly in all these horrible events, those who saw things, actually didn’t’ see them at all. Only “government officials” know or see anything. There were all kinds of speeches and blustering done by America and the Ruskies but in the end, the cover-up was firmly jelled where it has remained for 16 years and 4 months.
“The New York Times piece September 1st adds that an airline official in Seoul said that afternoon that an explosion might have occurred in midair. Which airline official? Remember, the vice-president of KAL is already on his way to negotiate for the return of the passengers.
“Remember the Rocky Mountain News and New York Times on September 2nd stating that the United States had sent all this sophisticated AWACS surveillance aircraft and so forth to search for the wreckage? If you read Incident at Sakhalin, you know this was nothing more than pap for the people who had no way to verify anything being said.” Do read the whole column.
Flight KAL 007 – Bring Our People Home Now, Mine, August 29, 2001
“In a dramatic turn of events, evidence has now surfaced (some quite literally from the bottom) proving that KAL 007 had indeed ditched successfully off the shores of tiny Moneron Island, and that the passengers and crew were rescued to be held captive in the former Soviet Union.
“Here in this book, are the unparalleled transcripts and chronicling of the whole Soviet hierarchy from the Commander of the Far East Military District down to Major Osipovich squeezing the trigger.
“Here are the high level, and sometimes vehement, interchanges that resulted in both the shooting down and the ordering of rescue missions involving KGB patrol boats, helicopters, and civilian trawlers around Moneron.
“And, here finally, is the evidence we need to bring our people home. Senator Jesse Helms to Boris Yeltsin – December 10, 1991: “The KAL 007 tragedy was one of the most tense incidents of the entire Cold War…Please provide a detailed list of the camps containing live passengers and crew, together with a map showing their location.”
“The son-in-law of one of the passengers of the ill-fated Korean Air Lines Flight 007, shot down by a Russian air air-missile in 1983, Bert Schlossberg has dedicated the past ten years to researching the question of passenger rescue and survival, as well as Soviet resistance to disclosure connected with this mysterious flight.” -End-

All the survivors have lived their lives in captivity; no doubt many have already died since this happened 42 years ago. Can you imagine the agony of the families both American and South Koreans all these years? And the hostages? Jesse Helms took the truth to his grave but all the official documents will tell the truth.
Unresolved Questions Surround KAL 007, Sept. 1, 2009: “After KAL 007, President Reagan addressed the nation, referring to the incident as a “crime against humanity which must never be forgotten.” However, within a year, Reagan’s administration was working to restore normal relations with the Soviet Union. Among the passengers of KAL 007 was Rep. Larry McDonald (D-GA), who was both a member of the House of Representatives and chairman of the John Birch Society, but the “collateral damage” from the Soviet attack included another member of Congress: Senator Henry “Scoop” Jackson (D-WA), whose last public appearance was at a press conference denouncing the Soviet Union. Sen. Jackson died of an aortic aneurysm on September 1, 1983.
“In a Foreword to Jeffrey St. John’s 1984 book on the KAL 007 attack, Day of the Cobra, Sen. Jesse Helms (R-N.C.) recounted meeting the family of Neil Grenfell from flight 007 while his own plane, KAL 015, was on the ground at the Anchorage airport at the same time as KAL 007, and his immediate emotional connection with the two Grenfell daughters: “In the quiet of the night, I can still hear those precious children laughing. “I can feel their little arms around my neck. I can see them waving good-bye and blowing kisses to me as they departed. I simply cannot accept their deaths. My mind rejects any notion that a civilized country could wantonly, intentionally, premeditatedly shoot down an unarmed plane loaded with innocent men, women, and children.”
“With time, Sen. Helms continued to make inquiry of Soviet, and later Russian, rulers seeking to determine what actually happened to the passengers of KAL 007. As was recounted for The New American last year,” Rest at link.
Are KAL 007 Passengers Held by Russians? Mine, April 3, 2005: “No bodies or luggage was ever found at the alleged crash site and wreckage didn’t amount to anything larger than a Piper single aircraft. All passengers disappeared from this Russian controlled area.

Jesus taught that!
“In the light of this I have written up a manual for these people to read. Not a book, an illustrated (Photos, Charts, etc.) Manual that they read, that they can reread, that they can study, and decide to do something about, even be inspired to devote themselves to. A Soviet Sukhoi 15 fighter jet, piloted by Major Gennadie Osipovich, was sent up to destroy the intruding Boeing 747.
“This, at the height of the Cold War era, was a major international incident. At the time, it was – and still is – widely believed that the plane “exploded”, “plummeted uncontrollably” into the ocean, and was “destroyed”, killing all aboard, including Lawrence (“Larry”) Patton McDonald, Representative (D), 7th District, Georgia.
“The evidence, however, tells another story. Japanese radar tracking, Soviet ground-to-ground and ground-to-air communications, KAL 007’s flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder, the debris (and lack thereof), eye-witness testimonies… All these and more, when pieced together, tell of a plane which was, indeed, damaged, but which managed to land safely, and of passengers who survived and were rescued by the Russians — only to be imprisoned to this day.” End on the web site. He is absolutely right.
Send this link to X and your social media platforms. True transparency would mean Trump’s State Dept pursuing the truth from the Russians and any and all classified documents released. There were children on that flight who, if survived, are now adults.
The EVIDENCE doesn’t lie. If you read my columns above (and I’ve read the books) this is an on-going immoral, grotesque cover-up. One I believe President Trump would take great interest in if he sat down and spoke with Schlossberg personally. Considering the dangerous environment over in Ukraine, the insanity of the EU and the terrorist threats that are very real, think about all the passengers on KAL 007 who innocently boarded their plane and a few hours later, never to be heard from again – think it can’t happen to YOU or your family if you fly to another country this summer for a vacation?

To explain. After World War II and the unspeakable, malignant horrors of the Holocaust were revealed for all the world to see––six-million Jews, from infants to centenarians and everyone in between––rounded up, crammed into suffocating cattle cars, hauled off to concentration camps, and gassed to death in Hitler’s crematoria, effectively eliminating half of the microscopic Jewish population of 12-million Jews in the entire world.
There is not a baby in the world born with hate in his or her heart. Hate is taught. Hate is learned. What we have been witnessing––really since Obama made his ignominious debut in our body politic––was that the hate that is learned has remarkable staying power. It transcends education and objective reality and cold hard facts. It is animating and energizing. After our most powerful emotion, fear, come jealousy and hate, which are often in desperate competition with each other.
