The Moral Voter: Calling All Judaeo-Christian Soldiers

The enemy today isn’t “Biden” or “Obama”, or “Globalists”, or “RINOS”; it is Lucifer, the patron saint of the Left, as always. This battle to save our nation and our God-given freedom is between good and evil. America is being purposely destroyed, our Constitution, shredded, and we all know it. In order to win this battle, we need every moral human being in this once-glorious nation to help. To stand on the side of the right.

Some of our number have become unwitting slaves to the very government that is taking us down. They have been captured by the Johnson Amendment, aka 501(c)3. Money, as it turns out, IS the root of this evil. Add that to the fact that over 30 million Christians are not even registered to vote, and you can see that our ranks are dangerously diminished.

Many religious leaders, and congregants, refuse to actively address that which is destroying all of our freedoms, because they fear losing the vaunted 501(c)3 tax-exempt status. They believe that churches must refrain from anything “political”. This is NOT TRUE.

The tax exemption, or “Johnson Amendment”, was passed to keep moral voters out of the way, so that what we are seeing today could happen. Here’s that story.

* * *

The 501(c)3 law has NOTHING to do with separation of church and state, as so many believe. Churches were added to the tax code by an amendment introduced by Sen. -Lyndon Baines Johnson in 1954, in his greed for power.

LBJ was NO friend of the church. As part of his political agenda, Johnson had it in mind to silence the church and eliminate the significant influence the church had always had on shaping public policy. He was, after all, a member of the British Pilgrim Society and became the 36th POTUS, many say, because of their hand in the assisination of JFK.

In the 1954 primaries, Johnson was being politically opposed in his run for US Senate by several non-profits which were becoming very effective: the Facts Forum funded by H.L. Hunt, and the Committee for Constitutional Government. Both stood against communism and the United Nations, AND LBJ who supported both. Johnson believed both were working together against him.

“Christian churches were strongly aligned and outwardly vocal about the anti-Christian actions of communists worldwide”. Lyndon Johnson made them pay for it. He shrewdly offered the tax exemption as a “favor” to religious groups, which they never, by law, actually needed. He anticipated that they would take the bait and back off.

LBJ was also a member of the British Pilgrim Society which favored the UN and the Globalist agenda. With their help, LBJ became America’s 36th President. One “good turn” deserves another??

The Johnson Amendment of 1954 was quickly added to Congressional legislation without debate, effectively silencing Christians, and any who stood against the UN and communism, by removing them from the political discourse. The current attack on our moral society was present even then.

The irony of this all is that churches were never subject to taxes before 1954. The First Amendment of the US Constitution places churches and other places of worship outside the jurisdiction of civil government, thus not subject to taxation. “Congress shall make NO LAW respecting an establishment or religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”

Johnson Amendment aside, we can still do lots. According to a mailer published by the Faith and Freedom Foundation in 2019, here is a list of what churches MAY do. What a church MAY DO:

♦ REGISTER VOTERS

♦ DISTRIBUTE EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS, which endorse neither a candidate nor a party.

♦ Conduct CANDIDATE FORUMS, where all candidates are given the invitation and opportunity to speak.

♦ LOBBY on potential legislation as long as the amount spent on such activity is no greater than 5% of the church’s annual budget.

♦ PASTORS MAY ENDORSE CANDIDATES in their capacity as private citizens, AND may allow their title to be used in the endorsement.

♦ PASTORS MAY PARTICIPATE IN POLITICAL COMMITTEES that are independent of the church.

What a church may NOT do:

♦ Pastors may NOT ENDORSE CANDIDATES ON BEHALF OF THE CHURCH, and should never do so from the pulpit or at any other church meeting or function. This does NOT prohibit a pastor from personally speaking out, away from the church.

♦ CONTRIBUTE DIRECTLY TO CANDIDATES.

♦ PAY FOR POLITICAL EVENTS FROM CHURCH FUNDS

♦ FORM A POLITICAL COMMITTEE WHICH CONTRIBUTES DIRECTLY TO CANDIDATES.

♦ Allow a campaign or political committee to SOLICIT FUNDS

WHILE SPEAKING AT A CHURCH.

Be additionallly reassured by the Word. Bible verse after Bible verse charges Christians and Jews with stewardship for our God-given resources and blessings, in a way that honors Him. To wit:

♦ Voting recognizes the equality of all people and their right to speak and be heard (Deut. 10:17-19)

♦ Voting publicly recognizes that we submit to the authority of the body politic, in a nation established and operating (bold faced, mine. Options here would be the subject of another treatise.) under principles from God. (Romans 13 1-7)

♦ Voting is a simple yet significant way to do something about what is happening in a nation. “The only thing necessary for the truimph of evil is for good men to do nothing, Edwin Burke. (Psalms 34:14)

♦ NOT voting is a form of voting for the opposition and its causes which you do NOT support. (Luke 10:25-37)

♦ Voting has Biblical precedence. Early Christian elders were elected by voting. (Acts 14:23)

♦ Voting is the one way we can participate in and obey God’s command to seek the good of those around us, and our nation as a whole. (Jeremiah 29: 5-6) *We must not take our blessings for granted.

To waste our vote is to squander a gift and a responsibility.

It is the responsibility – duty – of the moral voter to stand against what is happening in our society today. Our civilization is at stake. Jesus overturned the tables of the moneychangers in the Temple. So must we do our part. Our churches must help to lead the way back to a stable nation that stands on our founding principles.

Onward, Judaeo-Christian soldiers! Not just a hymn
