PART 2

Last week we started to look at how the Founders used the faith and the principles of God's Word to lay the foundation for the greatest nation the world has ever seen. Everything they did was based on the Word of God. The Colonies charters, Constitutions, laws and even their personal conduct. Being based on the Word is to say that it was on Jesus that our nation was designed and built upon. They based it on the Word: John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

Reverend Benjamin F. Morris stated “The Christian men who formed our civil institutions were trained and prepared for their work in scenes of conflict in which the truest ideas of liberty and religion were developed.” “God sifted in these conflicts a whole nation, that He might send choice grain over into this wilderness.”

The time that lead up to the citizens of America declaring their independence defined, inspired and prepared our Christian Forefathers to develop the true form of civil government. The Christian religion has a clear and full recognition in the civil constitutions and state papers of the original colonies. This fact is embedded in our history and is undeniable. We see in every state constitution the spirit and sentiments of the Christian religion. Many states would not allow a person to run for office unless he professed his belief in Jesus Christ, the divinity of the Bible, and in the evangelical truths of Christianity. That requirement is against the law today.

Our Founding Fathers were not ashamed of publicly speaking about their faith. Today very few do and those that do speak are chastised and ridiculed by the far left. Our Founding Fathers affirmed, in every form, the indissoluble union of religion and liberty. It didn’t matter if it was in the pulpit or before assemblies, in court rooms or in town meetings, in the local papers and their everyday books, all were an extension of their faith and what they believed.

Even the Revolution and the call for independence and liberty had its beginnings in the Christian faith. No other basis would have allowed the rag-tag army of America to defeat the greatest military might on the face of the earth. The Christian religion was the breath of life for the revolution and carried it to victory by intervention of Providence time and time again. It was the inspirations of Christianity that strengthened the Founding Fathers for war, it was the inspirations of Christianity that inspired our statesmen, it was the inspirations of Christianity that filled the hearts of the people with hope and courage. Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Their faith in God was so strong and their prayers were answered so many times that George Washington stated: “I am sure that there never was a people who had more reason to acknowledge a divine interposition in their affairs than those of the Unites States: and I should be pained to believe that they have forgotten that agency which was so often manifested during the Revolution, or that they failed to consider the omnipotence of that God who is alone able to protect them. He must be worse than an infidel that lacks faith, and more than wicked that has not gratitude enough to acknowledge his obligations.”

Washington, DC is full of the people that would ‘pain’ George Washington today. All that he fought for, they are now fighting to take away. All that was gained by the sacrifices of that early ragtag army are being taken away by elitists and socialists that want to redirect America down the path of socialism. Russia tried that and failed, miserably. No nation has prospered as we have and that prosperity is the result of a nation of people depending on God for their existence. We can not forget what this nation was founded on “on the Gospel of Jesus Christ”.

Today we can see monuments to our heritage. Some have been removed because of actions taken by anti-American organizations like the ACLU, AU, People for the American Way. Many of these organizations have names that lead you to believe that they are standing up for the American heritage when in reality they oppose everything that America stands for. The founder of the ACLU Roger Baldwin stated that the ultimate goal of the ACLU was communism. The only way that communism will work is for the will of the people to be disallowed. No personal property. All property is state owned. Patriotism is strongly discouraged and then outlawed all together. Religion is decided by the state and as we saw in Russia, religion was outlawed. The state MUST be the ultimate power. The state is the resource for everything. The state controls everything including the size and makeup of the family. In China a family can only have one child and it must be a male. Now there are not enough women for the available men. Gee, maybe that idea of aborting all the female babies wasn’t such a good idea after all.

A nation is known by its monuments. Younger generations learn from these monuments. Our history is inscribed on the monuments. The thoughts and deeds of our Founders and national hero’s are inscribed on these monuments. In Washington, DC you will find Bible verses inscribed on virtually all of the monuments to our forefathers and all of our public buildings. The Ten Commandments are inscribed on the back of the Doors of the Supreme Court so that these Justices will have the Foundation of our law in front of their eyes at all times. We need to get a couple of these jurists glasses. These monuments are Biblical. We are to display the religious heritage to our younger generations so that they will know that we are a Christian nation.

Psalm 48:12 “Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.
(13) Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.
(14) For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.”

These monuments are under attack by the people that we thought fought for the rights of the American people. They are attempting to remove all vestiges of our religious heritage so that the younger generations will not know the truth about their heritage.

We are fighting against those who have rejected the knowledge of God, the wisdom of God and the will of God. Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”

The church needs to take back this country, it politics, the government and the laws. We need to repent of ignoring the will of God. God said He would heal our land if we turn from our ways. There are so many churches today that are churches in name only. You cannot call yourself a Christian church and support abortion, homosexual marriage and deny that Israel is still the apple of God's eye.

More than half of protestant denominations not 'recognize' gay marriage! God has never recognized it so why does the church feel the need to embrace it? The only reason I can see is political correctness and as I have said many times if you are politically correct, you have a 99.9% chance of being 100% wrong. 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

How long will we stand by watch our great nation slip down the path that most other nations have taken? How much do we have to lose before we wake up and say 'No More!'? I stand as a warning that we must act and act quickly.
