CRISIS IN AMERICA AND THE SELF ESTEEM MOVEMENT

I listened for days about another massacre of innocent people in an Aurora, Colorado’s “gun free zone” movie theater and the political hacks that were quick to rush to judgment. You’ve heard it repeated hundreds of times about Brian Ross on ABC’s Good Morning America with George Stephanopoulus. Brian said, “I found something (on google) that might be significant. There is a Jim Holmes on an Aurora, Colorado page the Colorado Tea Party section – talking about him joining the Tea Party last year. We don’t know if it is the same Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colorado.” Brian later apologized. ABC apologized but the pimp’s mission was accomplished. The liberal media doesn’t like the Tea Party so they show their bias every opportunity they get. And then after the apologies, David Gregory pushed the point again.
Additionally, Bill O’Reilly on his 7/23 show reported the attorney for the Holmes family in San Diego commented the mother said, “You have the right person, I’m his mother.” Did the call come in the middle of the night? Did the mother fear something happened to her son? The media again conveniently left off the “I am his mother,” which suggested the mother may have been fearful something of this nature would happen. Randy Murray, a contributor to News With Views, wrote an article entitled: Controlling the Ignorant Masses. He said, “As far as journalists go, hey, I am a journalist and I know we are the most arrogant airheads since the dawn of time.” It so happens that Aurora, Colorado Jim Holmes is an upstanding law, abiding 55-year old citizen and yes, a member of the Tea Party.
Talk show host, Michael Medved originating out of the Seattle, Washington area is also a movie critic. He said the movie DARK KNIGHT RISING cost $250 million dollars and is projected to make back over $500 million. Medved called the movie a very dark, depressing movie and definitely not a movie for young children and ear plugs should be required. One caller to his show said this wouldn’t happen if we took the guns away from crazy people. Medved, a second amendment advocate, reminded the caller there are over 100 million Americans that must be crazy then who have them for protection. The caller insisted he knows no one who has a gun.
Rush Limbaugh said “blaming guns for this tragedy is like blaming the fork for obesity.” All this seemed to be a distraction and correlated with the “Fast and Furious” Congressional hearings where Attorney General Holder was held in contempt for refusing to release additional requested information by committee members. So can we speculate the Aurora distraction may have had some type of mind-control involved? Another talk show host, Michael Savage in his 2005 book: LIBERALISM IS A MENTAL DISORDER says, “It is made in much the same way as sausage – it’s a blend of fascist, communist, and socialist ideologies from twentieth century Europe, with a pinch of Nazism, all ground together, yet retaining the flavor of its various parts.”
This is also reminiscent of the UN agenda and the Rio+20 summit held in June in Rio DeJanero to further the “Gaia” concept – the “green religion” attempting to take over the Christian religion. In fact, during the summit, Rio’s iconic Christ the Redeemed who sits high on a hill was illuminated using green lights in what several analysis said reflected the progress of “environmental religion.” The scary thing, however, according to the 7/23/2012 NEW AMERICAN magazine is that there are close to 10,000 corporations participating in the UN Global compact, which aims to have businesses submit to the global body’s schemes – abortion, property rights, energy usage and personal consumption. In the final analysis, a “collaboration” between business and governments is something Italy’s Benito Mussolini defined as fascism: “A merger of state and corporate power.”
Although President Obama did not attend this gathering in Brazil, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, without citing any constitutional or congressional authority, pledged $2 billion of your tax dollars to advance the UN “sustainable” agenda. In all, more than $500 billion in pledges and commitments from governments and companies were secured to advance the UN agenda – more than at any previous UN summit so while many scientists who once endorsed this “green movement” are renouncing their support, the beat goes on.
While the mainline media didn’t report what actually happened, we can count on the NEW AMERICAN team to do so. Despite the summit being touted as an effort to increase “sustainability,” it tells about the waste evident throughout the conference as being astounding. Every building was running the air-conditioning at full blast with the doors wide open, for example. In some rooms, the AC was so cold that journalists were moving out from under the vents.
There are still those environmental whackos who believe that Americans are consuming more than their share of “Mother Earth’s” resources and that we should give up our cars and get on bicycles (like they are doing in Portland, Oregon); however, consuming less apparently is a requirement for the ruled while the rulers and their representatives stayed at five-star hotels and lived a lifestyle unimaginable to most of the world – not to mention the millions of destitute Brazilians living in squalor throughout Rio’s slums. When environmental dignitaries left, security did too and at that point, residents of the slums in the area began pouring into the venue to scavenge for the remaining scraps left behind, looting the food court as the few remaining security guards were overwhelmed.
The NEW AMERICAN further reports massive motorcades of gas-guzzling limos transported dictators and mass-murdering gangsters calling themselves “Presidents” as well as their oversized entourages, to and from the venue while dozens of military helicopters swarmed overhead with turrets aimed downward, checkpoints manned by machine gun-wielding Brazilian troops, federal police dressed in futuristic costumes. All of these happenings at the UN conference can be tied directly to the politically correct agenda.
Could the “self-esteem” movement implemented in the public schools in the mid 80s possibly have caused the Aurora shooting? A July 1995 article in the WALL STREET JOURNAL said gangs deal drugs openly on street corners wearing $125 shoes and $300 jackets in gang colors. This is not low self-esteem as social workers claim, it is arrogance. A March 1996 article in our local paper said “Self-esteem can trigger violence.” According to three research psychologist who evaluated dozens of studies of violent behavior, high self-esteem more often is associated with violence than is low self-esteem.
Benjamin Baruch in his 2004 book, THE DAY OF THE LORD IS AT HAND says in the last days their minds will be absorbed with what they foolishly call their “self-esteem,” which is self worship and by all that I heard and read about Jim Holmes, he certainly fits the bill. In addition, it was estimated as of 1990, over 50,000 American teenagers had committed suicide since the introduction of death education in America’s public schools in the early 1970s. Advocates of death education appear to be obsessed with the notion that the earth is overpopulated so suicide, euthanasia, abortion, birth control – all topics at the recent Rio+20 UN summit in Brazil – were introduced. The purpose of death education is to desensitize children.
A letter to the September 1999 Education Reporter tells about the death education curriculum the writer endured almost 15 years earlier in Ohio. He said his Senior English course included trips to cemeteries, funeral homes and they were shown how a body was embalmed or incinerated into ashes and they explored tombstones and wrote epitaphs. Not surprising, the National Education Association has played an active role in promoting death education.
Schools got sidetracked into worrying about feelings, says Charles Sykes in DUMBING DOWN OUR KIDS: Why Children Feel Good About Themselves but Can’t Read, Write or Add.” “Self-esteem has virtually become an official ideology,” he writes. Pat Green, a teacher since 1982, said a 1991 teacher training session in the Houston area taught the evils of red ink and told teachers to pick another color because it had a very negative impact and was so symbolic of wrong answers.” Some also said grammar and spelling errors should be overlooked so students wouldn’t be discouraged from writing. Roy Baumeister, a psychology professor at Florida State University in Tallahassee, says he had “high hopes for the benefits of boosting self-esteem when he began studying it more than 30 years ago…but now admits, “It’s been one of the biggest disappointments of my career.” So, do we have a correlation of self-esteem, death education, prescribed or illegal drugs and these shootings?
Lynn Stuter in her article “How To Create A Monster” writes how operant conditioning and Pavlov used it to produce his slobbering dogs and B.F. Skinner used it to produce his rats in a maze. Lynn, who lives in the State of Washington, mentions the Moses Lake, Washington school shooting in early 1996. I live in Oregon and on May 21, 1998 in Springfield, Oregon two students died and 19 were wounded during a shooting rampage at Thurston High School by 15-year old Kip Kinkel who first killed his parents and then went to school to kill again. More would have been killed if Kinkel hadn’t been stopped by Jacob Ryker, a senior who turned 17 that day and who had been struck in the chest by a shot that pierced his right lung but despite his injuries, Ryker (a member of the school wrestling team) confronted and subdued the assailant. He later received numerous awards for his heroism.
In the January 1999 Oregon legislature a bill was introduced to target gun-toting kids. The proposal required detention for youths who carry firearms to school. Springfield police were criticized after the killings for briefly taking Kinkel into custody a day earlier, then releasing him to his parents. (Mark 13:12-22) “If this bill would have been in place, Kip Kinkel would have been placed in detention, and many lives would have been saved,” said one legislator who apparently failed to recognize the problem started when the school recommended parents put their hyperactive children on Ritalin- a nervous system stimulant for hyperactive schoolchildren. The May 31 TIME MAGAZINE said Kip Kinkel was on Ritalin, then Prozac. Eric Harris had Luvox in his system when he joined Dyland Klebold in the massacre at Columbine High School on April 20th, 1999 which left 15 dead. Once again, legislators reacted and passed the Child Medication Safety Act preventing school personnel from forcing children to take mind altering medication such as Ritalin. Dr. Ann Blake Tracy, Executive Director of the International Coalition for Drug Awareness said Eric had been started on Zoloft for depression the year before Columbine. Within six weeks he reported having obsessive homicidal and suicidal thoughts so he was taken off Zoloft and put on Luvox.
As I am drafting this article, a shooting at a SIKH Temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin kills six and extreme weather and lightning kills one at a NASCAR event. Habakkuk 1:5 asks why God doesn’t move into the affairs of men and stop the violence, injustice and suffering and God replies he’s very much involved and doing something about sin by allowing one great crisis after another until we repent and turn back to God.

The 6/24/1983 Salt Lake Tribune told how Madalyn Murray O’Hair, a member of the Communist party, succeeded in bringing the Supreme Court a high-powered brief which apparently befuddled the justices into banning prayer and the Bible reading in school. Her son, William Murray, who was allegedly the victim of prayer and Bible reading in his school, subsequently left his mother to become a convert to Christianity. Her next goal was to have “In God We Trust” off our money. She got God out of the schools and guns came in – the outcome of a Godless culture. Ironically, she and her other son and a granddaughter disappeared in 1995 and $600,000 was missing from her organization. A January 28, 2001 ABC news out of Campwood, Texas said authorities had found bones of three people believed to be the three of them.
