One man's error, repeated and multiplied in every man ever since, has become the recorded history that we know as the Scriptures. Just as it takes more than one fallen leaf to create compost, and much more than one drop of water to make rain, so the collective errors of mankind will one day mount up to form a critical mass of catastrophic proportions. Such logic is the basis for the Scripture of Prophecy.
The Scripture is unerringly accurate in its calculation concerning the future of man, because it is based upon one profoundly simple, ultimately inescapable fact: that man through pride has become a mutation and will continue to slide towards oblivion in running from the truth of what he is.
Observation of the present leads us to an inescapable conclusion concerning the historical past: as it concerns the fall of man. Our helpless, choiceless responses only strengthen that legacy. From this observation, life presents a picture of an ominous future unless we are somehow rescued, for that same past heritage, repeated in our present lives, points a crooked finger to a future of tragedy and damnation.
If we deeply understand the mystery of how our heritage of past causes and effects accumulate in each present moment, we can find the way out. The chief hindrance to such understanding is culture, which sustains the false identity of pride which we inherit, and pride being what it is, tends to cling to tradition for assurance, and is defensive and resistant to Truth.
The knowledge that can destroy present claims upon your mind and body involves the penetration of the mysteries of how pride came into being, and obtaining self-control over the flesh by an awareness that is growing in the Light of Truth. Through each present moment, the past moves toward either a future damnation, or salvation. Only the (inner) Divine Presence can lift us out of the morass of our involvement with the present that is actually the extension of our past poised to become that ominous future. The Inner Light, alone, can show you more meaningfully all that is written here.
Seeing the Emotional Bonds That Bind Us
True awareness reveals to us how emotional we are, and how wrong that is. Awareness reveals emotion to be symptomatic of a deep flaw in our character. We see our emotional slavery to be an inheritance, a legacy from the past. Awareness then goes on to inform us how emotion sustains pride, its judgments and illusions about itself. Awareness lets us see how emotion is connected to two things, evil on one end and our falling pride on the other. We see too, that animal emotion is as hypnotic as it is compulsive. Then, awakening as if from a long sleep, we observe that our emotion has made us into fault-ridden animals, and kept us unconscious to the Truth Who could save us. Finally, we arrive at a point which has not yet been treated in depth--namely, how emotion reinforces all the prejudices of a racial or cultural identity, and can even go so far as to hypnotize us into believing we are "saved Christians."
Separatism: The Origin of Racism
In the beginning there were two: male and female. It makes little difference whether you view the original pair as fallen (angels) or risen (apes), for the entire human race sprang from them.
As with other higher animals, there were slight differences of appearance in each generation: eyes, hair colour, skin texture, and, individual pride being what it was (and still is), it seized on this fact to compare itself favourably with others. Observe your own unconscious inclinations and you will discover that you are still doing this every moment of your life.
It is the nature of pride to esteem itself very highly, to think of itself as a god. From its self-righteous state of mind (viewpoint), pride rejects as well as it looks down on people different from itself. No matter how degenerate the state it "awakens" (through pain) to find itself in, it always holds this to be the true and proper one. The drunk, the addict and the wife-swapper, all look down with contempt on all the "squares."
Natural differences, however slight, caused people to gravitate to and breed with others having similar differences.
Exploiting and degrading other races (war), became the means of obtaining power from the vanquished to feed and satisfy the egos of the people, who were in turn exploited by the leadership—so that there never has, or ever can be, any real value in conquest or in the good deeds done in the name of country, race or religion.
The demands for "religious" rituals and ceremonies that assured, distracted and uplifted grew. These rites could never satisfy the real needs of the soul, which in the long run, was always worse off. By these means, people were deluded that they were better off, giving the power of their victories to leaders that consoled them, and egged them on in their savagery. Many people and whole cultures become so degenerate and guilty that they spend more and more of their time practising "rituals of righteousness," until there is precious little time left for work or anything of real value.
Serenaded, Wined and Drugged to Final Degradation
As mankind multiplied and grew more corrupt, a new breed of "leader" arose and made music to soothe the savage beast, but it only made the beast more savage. Then drink, drugs, and a long list of distractions were added to reinforce racial identity, one upon another, until the culture became so top-heavy with pomp and ceremony that there wasn't enough religion, drugs, drink, music and entertainments in the world to drown out awareness of its utter futility and meaninglessness.
When the "master" races weren't working at building for greater glory, or fighting wars, then all they did, full time, was to drown themselves in pleasure, wine, women and song, drugs and "religion," and thereby degenerate. Meanwhile, the humiliated, defeated nations merely awaited their day of revenge. The rise and fall of the Roman Empire was an excellent example of this process. Today's decadence, the headlong pursuit of escape through drugs, music, "religion" and pleasures of all kinds, is simply history repeating itself before your eyes.
For the last time!
Seeking the Identity That Made Us
You cannot possibly be restored to grace as long as you identify with race, religion or creed--because the practice of any ritual reinforces the faulty self, and prevents the true self from coming through. Jesus said that the laws of God were to no avail when we cling to our traditions. Indeed, the only people you can help are those lost souls who have already deserted their heritage, in their search for the Truth.
If we are to live happily ever after, we must seek out the identity of the Parent Spirit that made the first pair in the beginning, before they fell and assumed that wrong identity and leadership. Bolstered by the "security" of all our wrong supports, man in his pride has fallen a long way from the Identity of the Parent Spirit. He has become an anxiety-ridden beast, seeking and "sniffing out" like dogs a growing variety of assurances from bitches and sons of bitche. The chief villain of the tribe is the politician, next comes the priest craft, medicine man, minstrel, all the way down to the lesser rank and file.
Because of a contrasting inner standard, our ego has devolved into a creature of comparison. If others are wrong or different, we become relatively right by comparison. So much of the error in the world involves seeking in a wrong way, clinging to our traditions and trying to get security from what corrupted us in the beginning (mother, wife, culture, music), and then comparing that identity with the peculiarities of "lesser" cultures.
It is interesting to note here that once a person's identity has been changed, any attempt to change him back or convert him to some other persuasion only gives him the energy he needs to consolidate and strengthen his position. Unless you are a stronger personality who can overwhelm his present conversion, resistance gives power to him and consequently the leadership that corrupted him. (War is a means of charging our batteries at the enemy’s expense, when society has been enervated and thoroughly drained and corrupted by the vultures of leadership and exploitation.)
Culture is a pacifier as well as a tempter. It supports pride’s identity, and carries forward to the present generation all the prejudices of the past. The conflict between Protestants and Catholics in Northern Ireland is a more recent example.
The feuds of the past have been carried forward to the present time only because people were so busy being “Catholics” and “Protestants,” that they forgot to be Christians, sharing the same Father-Christ Identity. Instead, each side was imprisoned by the respective identities established by 300 years of history, brainwashing and corruption. The same scene is played over and over again all over the world, with changed faces assuming the same old roles.
Pride Seeks a Scapegoat
Pride, being a vulgar creature of comparison, needs the established proud wrongs of other groups, or individuals, to feel right. Each faction is cheered on by leaders, who offer "lost dignity" and a sense of dignity as if the enemy had stolen it, reminding them of their "glorious" heritage. The leader doesn't really care two hoots about the people he is leading. His real interest is in power and glory for himself, through their misfortunes and strife.
When a family or national identity is built on feuding and war, no solution is possible--because "happiness" cannot exist without militant leaders to assure the people, and enemies to ravage and hate, so as to reinforce a feeling of superiority.
The cause of such conflict--like all conflicts--is based on the "other side" having an obvious character fault (all, of course, fortified by wrong leadership, music and false customs of the culture). All of that has given power to, and maintained, a collective sense of righteousness through the centuries, destroyed individuality and caused sickness, corruption and violence. Individuals brave enough to stand up against the system are ridiculed, driven insane, thrown into concentration camps or put to death. Leaders, you see, are the real enemies of the people, but the people rarely see it that way. The leader exploits his people in exchange for giving them the lies that they grow to need.
You see, if any warring faction would seek out and find their original identity, they would see the differences to be merely egocentric ones based on culture. Underneath it all, we are all fallen children of the same Parent Spirit.
If we are willing to abandon the opiate of culture by which we are lulled into a false sense of security about what we are, and if we are willing to think of ourselves as individuals, not as Italians, Jews, Catholics, Buddhists, French, Russians and what have you--we would then all be the same, of one mind, of one accord and of one identity, brothers and sisters under the Fatherhood of God. Paul reminds us that in Christ there is no Jew, Gentile or Greek, slave or free.
To Live, the Falsehood Needs Feeding
The lie has in itself, no basis for being, but must be constantly reinforced and reassured--because the ever-present Truth (conscience) erodes the lie, as it (conscience) tries to make us aware of the faulty basis for our sense of well-being. The power of the liar is based on the power we give him, to tell us what we vainly need to hear, to reinforce its original message in ourselves and to erect a mental bulwark against our growing conscience concerning the lie of that message. Our ego-need thus gives evil the power to tell us the lie that evolves to embody itself as our cultural leader or witch doctor. As each lie crumbles in the (inner) Light of Truth, we have to give more power to other liars within the culture to invent more fancy superstitions ("truths" to us), religions, folk music, and medicines that act as additional distractions, and reinforce our collective ego-sense of identity as being the true and original one.
Then weird forms of music emerge (which identify with the culture), to act as a powerful, complex, suggestive force, so that whenever the music is played, the cultural identity of the person comes alive again, and is reinforced with more power going to the piper and to the religion or cult employing the "piper." We like our own folk music, not so much because it is beautiful but because it has "grown on us." One can learn to like any silly combinations of sounds that jar or corrupt the senses by shocking them. Once the jingle has violated the mind of the group, and is accepted by the culture, any number of variations (more distractions) on that theme can be produced (with the original still recognizable), growing to be a more complex hypnotic suggestion that fortifies the total cultural behaviour of the social man. This opiate is what we fondly call "music appreciation."
Tradition works against God's salvation and keeps alive pride, prejudice, war, disease and famine-you name it. In India, they worship the cow rather than eat it; so cows walk the streets eating the food while children starve to death.
All "righteousness" that depends on tradition is destructive, ruthless and merciless, caring only about one thing: power to sustain itself in self-righteousness. The more desperate pride is to be right, the more it is forced to ravage the unwary to maintain its good standing in the eyes of our tempter leaders, who egg us on; and round again we come to being more desperate to look right in their eyes.
The pride of man doesn't care who or what it destroys, who must suffer or die, as long as it is able to look and feel good, and maintain its illusion of true identity with its sense of well-being, through its leader. The most wicked scoundrels in the world are "patriotic" in that sense: "righteous" to the letter of the law and loyal to its customs.
|
The ego-sense of well-being that is rooted in tradition and custom is a false one. We must therefore cease having high regard for any heritage, because it was created by temptation in the beginning, and that foul spirit still lives in the leader. The ego-centric masses don't want their illusions disturbed. They will destroy all who do "disturb the peace"-- both enemies, criminals and Christ!
Mama cannibal needs to be proud of her baby cannibal; she has no tolerance for a gentle child lest its innocence shame her. As "god," she is obliged to make a child in her own image (created as she was)--to give up power and homage to her. A "loyal" American or a Russian reared in Borneo would be just as "loyal" a cannibal as he now is an American or a Russian. He would regard cannibalism, with all its weird rituals and customs, as the only "true religion," and his people as the master race. (Which doesn't say much for that kind of loyalty!) Roy Masters who in his 80s continues to broadcast the longest-running counseling show in talk radio history, his internationally syndicated daily radio program Advice Line, grew up in pre-WWII England. He started his journey toward understanding human nature when as a teen he saw a stage hypnotist at a vaudeville show in Brighton. The hypnotist easily put volunteer subjects in a spell and made them do outlandish things, like dancing with a broom and forgetting their own names.
Puzzled by the hypnotist's mysterious power, Roy distinctly remembers pondering the question: "Why can't hypnotism be used to make people act sensibly, rather than foolishly?" Inspired by the idea of harnessing this baffling force for good, he later pursued the art of hypnotism and established a successful hypnotherapy practice.
After several years of practice, Masters made his central and pivotal discovery about the root of people's emotional problems, addictions and complexes. He realized that people did not need hypnosis, because their core problem was that they are already hypnotized not by a clever stage performer, but by the stresses, pressures and seductions of daily life.
He used his knowledge to discover a way to help us become de-hypnotized, and discovered that the root of the power of negative suggestion lay in our wrong emotional response, that of resentment. Masters' remarkably effective exercise, a simple observation technique called Be Still and Know is at the core of his unmatched track record in helping people overcome even the most serious mental-emotional problems, and is the centerpiece of a successful program within the U.S. military community (Patriot Outreach) that is helping thousands of military personnel and their families cope with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
