SENATOR LAMAR ALEXANDER: NEO-CON TROTSKYITE
PART 5

“The best way to take control over a people and control them utterly is to take a little of their freedom at a time, to erode rights by a thousand tiny and almost imperceptible reductions. In this way the people will not see those rights and freedoms being removed until past the point at which these changes cannot be reversed." Adolph Hitler

"The portrait that emerges of this early Lamar looks an awful lot like that of his mentor Howard Baker -- centrist, non-ideological, and, as one Washington insider put it, 'quintessentially establishment.'" Lisa Schiffren

What is a Neo-Con Trotskyite?

Forty or fifty years ago or more, those who have become leaders in today's Republican party drifted away from Trotskyism and began to identify themselves as democratic socialists. Still later, under the guise of neo-cons Irving Kristol and William F. Buckley, who emasculated true old right conservatism, slithered into the Republican party as "moderates." They stole the name of "conservative" and seized intellectual control of the true conservatives, as well as the entire Republican party.

Leon Trotsky must not be ignored. Trotsky, unlike Stalin and Lenin, favored the slow and patient imposition of Marxist socialism without murders and gulags. Trotsky wished for the people to "choose" Marxism, rather than having it forced upon them. Irving Kristol, father of Bill Kristol, stated, "I regard myself as lucky to have been a young Trotskyite and I have not a single bitter memory."

The current followers of Trotskyite socialism and internationalism are the neo-conservatives. Most have no objection to steering America away from personal freedom and national independence and literally undermining and eroding the people's freedom. There are several books which expose the reality of the Republican neo-con Trotskyites. Undeniably the best, is John McManus's brilliant book, "William F. Buckley, Pied Piper for the Establishment." This book is so well documented, you will want to keep it in your library for reference.

Senator Lamar Alexander, along with the vast majority of Republicans, both those in Congress, the White House, and the governor's mansions, are neo-con Trotskyites. This is why they have no chutzpah, no backbone, no stalwart stand for Constitutional rights. They are holding the door open for the far left's agenda. They are the false friends, and they are more dangerous than an open enemy.

So, let's take a look at what other leftist agenda items Senator Lamar Alexander has promoted over the years.

"We must raise taxes so that we can lower taxes" See Part 1.

What kind of political double speak is that? That's what our elected officials are saying, Senator Lamar Alexander, Bob Corker, Governor Bill Haslam, and Lt. Gov Ron Ramsey, and Speaker Beth Harwell want to raise your taxes so that they can lower your taxes. They are all pushing hard for the Internet sales tax They could cut our taxes and license fees on our small businesses, but charging another tax on all is their preferred answer. [Link]

Gibson Guitar

Lamar Alexander joined the effort to change the law after Gibson guitar was raided. However, it was Lamar Alexander who was one of the sponsors of an amendment to the Lacey Act in 2008 which banned the use of protective wood and led to the raid. [Link]

Amnesty

Tennessee senators, Corker and Alexander, voted to open the door to formal Senate debate on the most wide-ranging rewrite of U.S. immigration policy since 2007 and indicated their desire to see real reforms occur. Alexander says he'll vote for the amnesty bill if the border is secured. [Link] (Sure, like it's been secured in the past with the tax dollars set aside for same which have disappeared down a black hole!) What they never tell you is that, according to FBI statistics, 10,000 Americans die per year at the hands of illegal's. However, Alexander believes we're missing out on a lot of scientists and workers that would grow our economy. (Idiotic statement) Senator, there's not enough jobs for Americans!

Despite volumes of phone calls against S744, the Immigration Reform Bill was passed. All Senate Democrats voted for this horrid bill, along with these 14 Republicans: Alexander, Ayotte, Chiesa, Collins, Corker, Flake, Graham, Hatch, Heller, Hoeven, Kirk, McCain, Murkowski, and Rubio. Traitors!

Gun Control

Guess who voted to overcome the filibuster of the gun bill? The following 16 Republicans voted with Democrats to defeat the filibuster. Sens. Lamar Alexander (Tenn.), Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), Richard Burr (N.C.), Saxby Chambliss (Ga.), Tom Coburn (Okla.), Susan Collins (Maine), Bob Corker (Tenn.), Jeff Flake (Ariz.), Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Dean Heller (Nev.), John Hoeven (N.D.), Johnny Isakson (Ga.), Mark Kirk (Ill.), John McCain (Ariz.), Pat Toomey (Pa.) and Roger Wicker (Miss.). [Link] The NRA apparently gives an A-rating to anyone who gives them big bucks. The NRA rating carries the same prestige as the Nobel Peace Prize, eh? The majority of Senators of both political parties are traitors to the Republic and need to be removed.

In 2009, Senator Tom Coburn proposed the National Park Carry Amendment to the credit card bill to restore concealed carry rights in national parks. The amendment needed 60 votes, according to C-SPAN and passed with 67 votes. Lamar Alexander, who allegedly gets and A from the NRA, voted against it.

Destroying Compounding Pharmacies

The Verifying Authority and Legality in Drug (VALID) Compounding Act of 2012 was co-sponsored by Lamar Alexander, [R-TN] Alan Franken, [D-MN] Barbara Mikulski, D-MD] Pat Roberts, [R-KS] Elizabeth Warren, [D-MA] (joined May 16, 2013). Obviously, these co-sponsors feel more government control is necessary. I have had to order compounded medications for two of our dogs in the past, and recently ordered a compounded cream for elbow tendonitis.

Compounding is a process in which a pharmacist combines or alters medicines to change the dosing or form to address specific patient needs - for instance, removing a dye or preservative, or changing a pill into a liquid. The practice has typically been regulated by states, as opposed to traditional drug manufacturing, which is regulated by the FDA.

Under the proposal, the compounding manufacturers would be regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. However, they would not be subject to the same regulations as traditional drug manufacturers, although they would be required to register with the FDA and report the products they sell, report and investigate any adverse events and pay a fee to offset the cost of inspections, under the proposal. Environmental Votes

Senator Alexander has a penchant for passing environmental bills that play right into UN Agenda 21. Last July, 2012, Alexander attacked a newspaper in his state, the Chattanooga Times Free Press, for criticizing his vote to help President Barack Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency implement what the paper considers an economically devastating regulation. The paper found that shortly after Alexander’s vote in favor of the EPA regulation, a liberal environmentalist organization – the Environmental Defense Fund – launched a $200,000 ad campaign to thank Alexander for his vote. Tennesseans now know the answer since Sen. Lamar Alexander traded his vote in defense of the wrongheaded, ridiculous Utility MACT regulation in return for $200,000 in ads courtesy of an alarmist environmental outfit. [Link]

Lamar Alexander voted against Senator James Inhofe's bill to overturn the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Utility MACT rule. Inhofe stated, "We will continue to do everything possible to expose what the Obama-EPA’s damaging regulatory regime will do to destroy jobs and weaken our economy, and work every day in our efforts to stop President Obama’s war on oil, gas and coal.” [Link]

The Senator’s leadership in securing additional funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund, helped catalyze President Obama’s America’s Great Outdoors initiative. [Link]

U.S. Sens. Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker are once again asking Congress to add nearly 20,000 acres of wilderness in East Tennessee to the Cherokee National Forest. The two Tennessee Republican Senators, re-filed legislation in 2010, which would take another 20,000 acres to expand the amount of federally designated wilderness in the Cherokee National Forest to about 86,000 acres. Eliminating the filibuster

In late April, 2013, Alexander penned a joint op-ed in the Washington Post with Carl Levin advocating that Republicans relinquish the right to filibuster the motion to proceed with debate on bills. At present, the minority has the power to block debate on bad legislation through the use of the filibuster by denying Harry Reid’s unanimous consent requests, unless Democrats have 60 votes to proceed with debate. This has been an effective tool in preempting bad legislation from getting off the ground. All too often, once bad legislation is allowed to be debated, enough Republicans are enticed into supporting it, especially after they receive a worthless vote on their choice amendments. Alexander wants to give away any chance the Republicans could have in stopping bad leftist legislation.

Patriot Act (Firearms Purchase Records).

During consideration of the Patriot Act extension bill (S. 990), Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who opposes the Patriot Act on Constitutional grounds, offered an amendment that would have banned the use of Patriot Act searches for American citizens’ firearms records without the Fourth Amendment’s protections of probable cause, warrants, and particularity. Senator Alexander voted FOR tabling (killing) this amendment.

Patriot Act Extension.

This legislation (S. 990) extended for four years three Patriot Act provisions that were set to expire — the “roving wiretap,” “financial records,” and “lone wolf” provisions that allows the federal government to wiretap any number of a suspect’s telephone/Internet connections without specifying what they will find or how many connections will be tapped; the “financial records” provision that allows the feds to seize “any tangible thing” that has “relevance” to an investigation; and the “lone wolf” provision that allows spying on non-U.S. citizens without a warrant. These provisions violate the 4th Amendment. Senator Alexander voted for the extension.

Indefinite Detention.

Detainee-related language in the Defense authorization bill (S. 1867) was written in such a sweeping way that even the United States can be considered part of the battlefield in the global war against terror — and even American citizens accused of being terrorists can be apprehended by the U.S. military and detained indefinitely without habeas corpus, and without even being tried and found guilty in a court of law. Several attempts were made to revise the language, including an amendment offered by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) to prohibit U.S. citizens from being held indefinitely without being charged or given a trial. Senator Alexander voted AGAINST this amendment.

Then there's Alexander's vote for a second four year term for Ben Bernanke as head of the Federal Reserve. Sonia Sotomayor was confirmed with a yes vote from Alexander. I wrote asking him to vote against her. His response letter stated that the president had the right to nominate anyone he liked. And thanks to the likes of the neo-con Trotskyites in Congress, Sotomayor was confirmed.

The Senator voted for Cash for Clunkers, for raising the minimum wage, for the TARP bailout, for embryonic stem-cell research, for Amtrak reauthorization, for Head Start, for the Peru Free Trade Agreement , for mortgage relief, for the Farm Bill, for funds for War and Welfare, for foreign aid, for the bailout bill, and on and on. How He's Made His Money

Lamar Alexander and his wife Honey made a fortune with a string of at least 15 -- that's fifteen -- sweetheart deals from political supporters and businesses that lobby the government.

Just to give you one example, a newspaper chain sold Lamar a stock option for $1.00. That's one US dollar and no cents. When the chain was sold, he made $620,000. For details on many of his scandals, click here. The quick summary; when Lamar was elected governor, his net worth was $151,000. By 1991, when Bush appointed him secretary of Education, he had between $1.5 million and $3 million. (Candidates are only required to report general ranges of wealth.) In 1991, his net worth had grown to between $3 million and $6 million. Even worse, he often transferred these assets to his wife Honey, as if that made these deals any less sleazy. (See WSJ, March 5, 1991.)

The Senator also gets paid many thousands to sit on the Board of Directors of big corporations, such as Lockheed Martin (the result of the merger of Martin Marietta and Lockheed Corporation). In fact, he received a special $236,000 bonus when that merger went down -- one third of which was paid by taxpayers.

Alexander likes to brag that he founded Corporate Child Care, Inc. (CCCI) with his wife in 1987, and that in the 90s, it had 1200 employees and has been on Inc. Magazine's list of fastest growing companies three years in a row. The success of CCCI is true enough, but Alexander's role is a bit less than founder. In fact, he was barely involved.

The company was founded in 1986. Lamar invested $5,000 in 1987. Jack Massey, a founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken, and the massively profitable Hospital Corporation of America, invested $2 million in venture capital. Massey was one of Lamar's biggest patrons and was involved in several deals that profited him and Honey. (Captain Kangaroo -- Bob Keeshan -- was another investor.)

Lamar's connection to CCCI was Marguerite Sallee, who Lamar had appointed as State Commissioner of Human Services for Tennessee. Here is the resolution honoring her for same. (She had worked for a board which Honey Alexander was on earlier.) Sallee quit her state job to help launch CCCI in 1986, and became CEO. (She is married to Mort Kondracke.)

Sallee says, "Lamar was a founder in the classic sense of the word; he was instrumental in raising money." (Lamar's patron, Massey, invested $2 million.) Sallee insists that Lamar's involvement was "hands on" in 1987, even though he spent 6 months in Australia, wrote a book, and was paid $125,000 by Whittle Communications as a consultant on a magazine. But when pressed, she says, "If you ask me, did he come to work and sit beside me at the desk, that's not literally true."

Far from being evidence of business acumen, as Alexander would have you believe, this experience is just another example of the sweet insider deals that he often receives. His 1987 investment of $5000 was worth $800,000 as of 1991, four years later.

Lamar Alexander is the 17th wealthiest Senator and is worth from $6,198,948 to $31,029,996. Here is a complete overview of his personal finance disclosure.

Conclusion

Senator Alexander is certainly no old-right conservative, as he'd like you to believe, but then neither are the rest of the Republican senators. Alexander needs to be replaced, but has enough money and enough backing from wealthy Republicans in Tennessee, that he will be difficult to unseat, (See Part 1), and he's smug about it.

Several years ago I wrote and asked him why the southern border patrol was cut in half. He didn't give me an acceptable answer, so I kept writing him about it. Finally he wrote back to me and told me he'd send my letter to Homeland Security and they would contact me. They never have, and I keep asking.

Leon Trotsky would be proud of Senator Lamar Alexander.
