BEING ESTABLISHED IN GOD'S WORD
PART 3

To be able to be assured that we are established in the Word of God we have to understand that our feelings have nothing to do with it. We may not feel saved but that doesn't mean we aren't. We may not feel righteous but that doesn't mean that we aren't. Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:21 "For He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." Jesus became sin for us and paid the price for our sins and because of that our future has been made secure and our righteousness has been established because of what Jesus did.

To the church in Rome Paul stated in Romans 5:17 "For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)" and Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

(24) Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
(25} Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
(26) To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus." None of us are perfect and because of the price that Jesus paid for us to be saved and made righteous, we should act that way. To do otherwise would be saying that what Jesus did was not good enough.

We must remember all that Jesus did for us when He went to the cross. Jesus told Nicodemus that to enter heaven we had to be born again. John 3:3 "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." We keep thinking of how we used to be before we were saved but we are not the same person. We are not a new physical person but we are a new spiritual person. Because we are born of God we have the power and authority to overcome the world and everything it throws at us: 1 John 5:4 "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith." We were born again to do the work of God in His power not ours: Ephesians 2:10 "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." A lot of Christians have a problem believing that we can do great things. They judge their future in Christ by their past without Him. Paul reminds us that we have promises in God and that as long as we keep our eyes on Him and His promises we will always end up on top but we have to do everything by faith: 2 Corinthians 5:7 "(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)" You have to remember that we are not responsible for the results, God is. We are only supposed to do what He has told us to do.

Christianity is the only religion in the world that claims to have a God-head that lives inside a human. No other religion would even dare to make such a claim because all the other so-called god-heads are supposedly so holy that man is not worthy of such action. No other religion claims creation by a divine being. All other religions attempt to deal with the fact that we are here either by chance or by accident and that works alone will get you to heaven, if there even is one. In dealing with creation there must be a reason for that creation. God didn't create us because He didn't have anything to do and was bored. Things are created for a reason. He created us because for fellowship. After the fall He couldn't do that anymore so a plan was put into motion that would bring back that type of fellowship. Because of our sin we could not be close to God because our sin would destroy us in His presence but because of the blood of Jesus we can now come boldly to the throne. Hebrews 4:16 "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." After the resurrection the need of a physical temple was removed because we are now the temple of the Holy Spirit: 2 Corinthians 6:16 "And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people." On the day the Jesus was crucified the curtain in the temple that hid the Holy of Holies was torn from top to bottom. This was done in this manner to prove that God was the One Who tore the curtain as no man could have done that and it was done to fulfill what Jesus said in Mark 14:58 "We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands." Paul confirms this in 1 Corinthians 6:19 "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

(20) For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."

The reality of the Integrity of the Word of God

Integrity means wholeness, moral soundness, purity, uprightness and honesty. It is with these qualities that we have to look at the Word of God. There was a time in our history when a man was judged by the integrity of his word. There have been some Christians that have stated that they prayed for healing or for finances but God didn't answer their prayer. I have to question that for several reasons. If they prayed for healing, the Word says that by His stripes we were healed, 1 Peter 2:24. The word 'were' states that it is already done. He also states in Psalms 107:20 "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." If they prayed for finances the Word says Philippians 4:19 "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Healing and meeting our needs is promised in the Word and Paul confirms this in 2 Corinthians 1:20 "For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us." I am convinced that if we prayed for something and prayed for it correctly and according to His Word then we have to look at ourselves and our walk of faith because if God lied then satan has already won. We are also told in Isaiah 55:11 "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

Abraham proved this. God told him to separate himself from his father's house and he would prosper him. Abraham left and God prospered him: Genesis 13:2 "And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold." He told Isaac to stay and plant in a land where there was a famine: Genesis 26:12 "Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him." God told Moses to rescue His children from Egypt and Moses acted in faith and God worked mighty miracles through him and brought Egypt to her knees. God made good on His Word.

When we look at all of the great men and women of the Bible they all did one thing, believed what God had declared. Some had to be convinced like Moses and Gideon but others like David, Solomon and Paul simply believed and acted and when they did, God backed up His Word.
