Similar to the economic leveling that has occurred with NAFTA, the European Union, etc., there has also been an educational leveling process under way in American schools for at least 50 years, and it has been joined by an international educational leveling process in the name of achieving an egalitarian world society. As American students have been "dumbed down," students from India and China have become more knowledgeable.

Thus, the New World Order will comprise a World Education System resulting from international educational standards, curricula and tests. John Dewey's "common faith" (based upon his co-authored 1933 Humanist Manifesto) will result in a syncretistic World Religion of Secularism (which will be based upon the humanistic ethical values upon which all people can agree, and this will exist until the dictatorship of the Antichrist begins). And a World Socialist (federal) Government will be accomplished indirectly by a New International Economic Order based at first upon regional economic groupings which will also have a leveling effect.

You are probably thinking now that the people would never let all of this come to fruition. However, remember that in George Orwell's 1984, after Big Brother's agent, O'Brien, said they want to be "priests of power," the character Winston asserts that the people will never accept totalitarian control, and O'Brien responds: "Suppose that we quicken the tempo of human life." This, of course, is what happened after Orwell's book was published in 1949. The pace of life has quickened measureably, making it more difficult for people effectively to organize against undesirable changes.

But also remember that O'Brien said: "We are not content with negative obedience, nor even with the most abject submission. When finally you surrender to us, it must be of your own free will. We do not destroy the heretic because he resists us....We convert him, we capture his inner mind, we reshape him." This means that contrary to the dictators of the past who forcibly enslaved people, the social engineers of the future want the people "voluntarily" to accept what is done to them. For example, since the 1950s, there have been economic inflationary pressures which have caused both husbands and wives "voluntarily" to choose to work outside the home to maintain their standard of living. This, in turn, has caused parents "voluntarily" to give their children over to often philosophically "progressive" childcare providers (sometimes state social-service workers) who help shape the children's values at an early age. In the future, rising health care costs will cause people "voluntarily" to choose to comply with insurance companies' dietary demands if they are to obtain affordable premiums.

This all, of course, is accompanied by a steady "diet" of propaganda in the following sense. In 1928, William Paley was beginning CBS and hired Sigmund Freud's nephew, Edward Bernays, to be his chief adviser. In that same year, Bernays' book, PROPAGANDA, was published showing how the American public could be manipulated. This "Father of Public Opinion," as Bernays was known, wrote: "Those who manipulate the organized habits and opinions of the masses constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country." He went on to explain that a politician could use a businessman's skills, taking "a survey of public desires and demands" and say, "I must lead the people. Am I not their servant?" This sounds a lot like Ross Perot in the 1992 presidential campaign.

And how is television used to manipulate the public? Dr. Robert Assagioli, founder of psychosynthesis and lifelong friend of occultist Alice Bailey (he was one of the "disciples" referred to in her DISCIPLESHIP IN THE NEW AGE), believed it is actually possible to train the "will." In that regard, Prof. Willis Harman of Stanford University indicated that a person's behavior is governed far more extensively than we realize by the unconscious or subconscious mind.

And Benjamin Libet, a professor of neurophysiology at the University of California, San Francisco, some years ago in the scientific journal THE BRAIN AND BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES said that "The conscious mind doesn't initiate voluntary actions." Monitors revealed that about a half-second before a muscle flexes, for example, an unconscious part of the brain sends signals seemingly to prepare the conscious part of the brain for action. Libet said that the conscious part of the brain can veto the unconscious signal, but the question is, "What if the person's "will" has been conditioned not to veto the signal?" What if the person has seen the Nike slogan "Just do it" so many times that he or she "just does it"---whatever "it" is?!
