Finally, voting fraud is very prominent in many elections that have taken place in the past ten years. In fact, the outcomes of many elections that have occurred in the past few months are being questioned by some election “watchdog” agencies. Also, many of the names that are appearing on voter registration forms are the names of people who have been dead for several years. But, it appears that the Justice Department under the direction of Eric Holder intends on preventing the stoppage of voter fraud in upcoming elections by declaring laws that require voters to prove who they are with a proper ID to be a civil rights abuse. According to Dave Blount’s article on Moonbattery, a website that discusses left-leaning factions in America, “Mr. Holder argues that voter ID laws disproportionately discriminate against poor blacks and Hispanics — citizens who cannot afford to acquire a driver’s license, passport or other form of photo identification. Liberal Democrats — taking their cue from the White House — are portraying the national movement for election reform as an authoritarian assault upon civil liberties.” Also, Mr. Blount said, “It is perverse to have a society that requires a photo ID to go through airport security, drive a car, purchase expensive consumer goods using MasterCard or Visa or get a simple library card, but not to cast a ballot — the most sacred act of citizenship in a deliberative democracy.”[6]
The major problem that could occur because of Fascism in America would be the many restrictions placed on the civil liberties of its citizens. As Americans lose their freedoms, a police state mentality replaces the constitutional democratic republic established by the Founding Fathers. Also, as funding for National Public Radio and the Public Broadcasting System decrease, more state control of media could occur. This informational blackout would prevent Americans from knowing the truth about their government.[7]
As Fascism expands in America, more and more restrictions will be placed on American citizens. The rationale for these restrictions will be America’s need for more security. Terrorism has created fear in the United States among the masses. As is so indicative of the Patriot Act, many Americans are willing to sacrifice civil liberties for so-called protection from terrorism. However, government control of the Internet is not needed. It would only hinder free communication. But, in the name of eliminating terrorism, it is highly possible that Big Brother will prevent access to the informational highway.[7]
In a fascist society, churches will face extreme pressures from the government to pay taxes on all forms of revenue. Also, they would not be able to preach against certain groups of people that are becoming dominant in the American society. By doing so, they would be considered anti-American. Christians in America would encounter more persecution than ever before. When pastors and lay persons cannot preach the truth as described in the Bible, religious persecution does exist.[7]
The economy in America has had some major recessionary problems. Outsourcing of jobs is one of the major reasons the American economy is struggling. Since the goal of those who control corporations and business is to make large profits, it makes sense that American jobs are being sent overseas. The profits made from factories and other businesses headquartered in foreign nations would be much larger than in the United States. Since salaries, wages, and overhead would be lower, it would be natural to assume that profits would double or triple. American workers, as a result, would become powerless and financially stressed.[7]
Owning a home is a major asset that all Americans desire to obtain during their lifetime. However, if fascists achieve their goal, the banking industry would attempt to stop the ownership of family homes. Those who control the money in America know that they would make more profit by continuing to rent property. Therefore, as in the 1930s, it would be more difficult to obtain a mortgage to purchase a house. Also, with all the credit card debt that most Americans owe, it would difficult for many people to convince a bank to lend them money to purchase a house. Possibly, the fascist scheme is already in place.[7]
One of the worse scenarios that could happen during a fascist regime in America would be the criminalization of anyone who protests the agenda of governmental leaders. As a result, anyone whose opinions are unfavorable to the government would be labeled as unpatriotic and un-American. Arrests, detentions, and harassments would follow. America already has a large percentage of its citizens in prison. In fact, there are more prisoners in the United States than any other nation in the world. Based on the fascist agenda, the number could increase drastically.[7]

In conclusion, elements of Fascism do exist in the United States. However, regardless of the uncertainties that exist in America today, all fascist ideologies must be eliminated immediately. The last thing that America needs is a police state. Of course, the elements of Fascism are not the total responsibility of any one leader in America, such as the President. But, because of the anti-terror movement in the United States and the current economic crisis, these elements are coming out of the closet and mushrooming into a cloud of unpatriotic and un-American political thought in the greatest democracy in the world.
