On my Friday morning radio show (www.1180wfyl.com) I had an interesting conversation with a Constitutional Attorney. He asserted that once the Supreme Court has ruled on an issue then it is final, it is essentially settled law. For example, I was speaking about the issue of marriage and the fact that the Supreme Court has no power, and indeed no authority to change the definition of marriage. God defines it, they cannot redefine it. They do not even have any jurisdiction over marriage whatsoever even if they were able to redefine it. Why? Because We The People are the ones who created the Federal Government. We created it, it is our creature and we therefore define the limits of its powers and we never gave it power to even deal with the issue of marriage at all. I asked the good attorney to consider the implications of the theory that the Supreme Court has the final say, and that once it has spoken there is no further recourse.
In Nazi Germany, everything done was done according to laws that were duly passed by the legislature and approved by the judiciary. That’s right, Nazi judges said everything they did was all perfectly legal. What they did not account for is the fact that man is not sovereign, man is not the source of law; they did not account for the fact that there is a Divine Standard, what our Founders called the “Laws of Nature and Nature’s God.” Any manmade statute is only valid in so far as it fully complies with this eternal, fixed, unchanging Divine Standard – God’s Law.

So, when World War II was over, the Nazi officials had to face the music at the Nuremberg trials. At the trials they tried to use the argument that everything they did was according to law and that they could not be held accountable, for after all, they were just obeying lawful orders. But on Oct 16, 1946 they were held accountable. Ten prominent members of the political and military leadership of Nazi Germany were hung by the neck until dead. Hermann Göring was also scheduled to be hanged on that day, but committed suicide using a potassium cyanide capsule the night before. Martin Bormann was also sentenced to death in absentia, but he had already committed suicide while attempting to escape Berlin on May 2nd the previous year.
There is an eternal, everlasting, unchanging standard of justice and it is given to us by the Ruler of the Universe who created all things including all the laws of the Universe – both physical and moral laws.
So that was my morning radio show; then segue to a conversation later that same day with officials in local government regarding a situation at the local community college. That institution, which by the way 2/3rds of its funding comes from taxpayers, demands diversity courses be taken by every student. These courses are thinly veiled propaganda for the LBGTQ community, that is, the homosexual agenda. Therefore every student must be indoctrinated with the pro-homosexual mindset or else they cannot graduate. The local officials basically told us that the citizens of our county have no choice in the matter. The decision to demand this diversity requirement, and a gun-to-the-head of the taxpayers, forcing them to pay for these courses, comes from the State Board of Education. The fact that every institution of higher education has to be accredited in the state and must comply with these diversity requirements is astonishing!
Contrast this with a list of rules for teachers, posted by a New York City principal in 1872, that included:
Each teacher will bring a bucket of water and scuttle of coal for the day’s sessions. Men teachers may take one evening each week for courting purposes, or two evenings a week if they go to church regularly. After ten hours in school, the teachers should spend the remaining time reading the Bible or other good books. Any teacher who smokes, uses liquor in any form, frequents pool or public halls, or gets shaved in a barbershop will give good reason to suspect his worth, intentions, integrity and honesty.
What has happened in 145 years?
America has become the land of the pagan and the home of the insane. For truly when you reject the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God, you don’t become wise – the Scripture says you become a fool. When you reject and deny the Laws of the Universe, the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God you are no longer in touch with reality; you could be certified as insane.
Truly, when you turn away from the fear of the Lord you do not become educated no matter how many letters follow your name, you become woefully ignorant, ignorant of the most important fact of all – that God is Sovereign and brooks no fools.
What these two conversations on Friday reminded me of was that we have a very large task ahead of us as disciples of Jesus Christ. Our Land has been overrun by pagans and lunatics. It is not the time to retreat, to give up the fight as we hear from some quarters. No, not in the slightest bit. It is instead, time to prepare ourselves to cross over the Jordan; it is time to enter the land and conquer it for the One who is King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the One who has been given all authority in heaven and all authority on earth: Jesus Christ our Savior. Did you know that He owns these united States? They belong to Him. He will discipline them when they reject Him. It is folly to oppose Christ Jesus because His will will be done, His Kingdom will come and every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. He is Master, He is Ruler, He is King, no nation can defy Him and survive.
We are in the same situation that Joshua and the children of Israel faced looking Westward over the Jordan River. The Jordan was at flood stage, so crossing it would take a miracle. The cities on the other side were extremely formidable. The task was huge; in fact, realistically you could say it was impossible. But our God loves the word impossible. As the angel Gabriel said to Mary in Luke 1:37, “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”
God commanded Joshua to lead the children of Israel across the Jordan (an impossibility) and into the Promised Land (impossible) to take possession of it (impossible). The impossible would be made possible by the mighty hand of God. And the promises to Joshua are parallel to the promises Jesus made to us. Jesus commanded us “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” That ‘all nations’ of course includes these united States. So, let’s get to work and cross over the Jordan.
