In a calculated putdown, the Washington Post once highlighted conservative Christian voters as “poor, uneducated, and easy to command.” But that seems to be a more accurate description of the residents of Washington D.C., who will vote to convict former President Trump of anything presented to them by a partisan prosecutor and grand jury. That’s what a new opinion poll indicates.
These survey results demonstrate how the hallowed jury system has been weaponized against the people.
But things may be slowly changing in the nation’s capital, as illegal aliens flood the city, reminding people that Trump’s policies of stopping the invasion had some benefits for Americans as a whole.
The Babylon Bee’s humorous headline captures the scene: “Democrats Complain That Illegal Immigrants Are Destroying Their Sanctuary Cities.”
I skimmed the Washington Post and found a story about illegal aliens overwhelming city services in the nation’s capital. I regarded it as official confirmation that some Republicans had succeeded in outsmarting the Biden regime.
The first paragraph said it all: “It’s been about 17 months since Republican governors from Texas and Arizona started sending thousands of migrants to the District and other cities in protest of President Biden’s border policies, but questions and concerns remain about the availability of short-term shelter in the nation’s capital as buses continue to arrive.”
This was a convoluted way of saying that the rich elitists in D.C., a sanctuary city, are starting to feel the pinch.
After Trump was elected in 2016, Mayor Muriel Bowser issued a statement, “The values, laws, and policies of Washington, DC did not change on Election Day. We celebrate our diversity and respect all DC residents no matter their immigration status. We are a sanctuary city because we know that our neighborhoods are safer and stronger when no one is afraid to call on our government for help, and when our police can focus on protecting and serving.”
Now that the “sanctuary” is filled to the brim under Biden, the scribblers at the Post are starting to record the pain without gain. Even the liberals are squirming.
The Post writers, many of whom likely employ illegals as gardeners, nannies, maids and cooks, have probably had enough as well. The homeless on the streets and the tent cities are too obnoxious to ignore.
Those Republican governors sending the busloads of illegals have clearly outsmarted the Biden regime, sending a message that is resonating beyond the confines of D.C.
The same problems are apparent in New York City, where Mayor Adams is begging the Democrat Governor of New York to bus illegals into the suburban and rural counties that surround the city.
As a result, notes far-left Axios, “Tensions between President Biden and local Democrats are rising as shelters overflow and thousands of immigrants arrive in big cities.”
The headline over the story was “Blue state migrant crisis sparks political disaster for Biden.”
“In Chicago,” the publication said, “public meetings about converting buildings into shelters are turning accusatory, with Black residents asking why millions are being spent on new arrivals while their neighborhoods reel from decades of disinvestment.”
You don’t have to live in one of these cities to understand the stakes.
The popular reality TV show “Border Wars,” on the National Geographic Channel, captures the determined efforts of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, ICE, DEA, the U.S. Coast Guard, and local law enforcement to keep our nation safe. They fight terrorism and apprehend drug smugglers. They also intercept people entering the United States illegally.
A border wall, like that proposed and partly built by President Trump, would be one line of defense.
But faced with Biden dismantling the wall and abandoning his constitutional duty to provide for the common defense, Republican governors are doing the next best thing – sending the illegal aliens to the Blue states. This is finally getting the attention of Democrats and the liberal media.
The Washington Post also took note of the problem in New York City, explaining how Adams and other officials have “struggled to meet demand for shelter even as officials have converted hotels, dormitories and other residences into emergency sites.”
In Washington D.C., churches have locked doors and security cameras.
Sadly, many of the churches, who preach “Love the Stranger,” have brought us to this point.
