Florida has a deadly problem, and too many are afraid to speak about it.
Radioactivity at dangerous levels has spread through the air, soil and water in significant parts of the state. This comes from phosphate mining, of which uranium and radium are byproducts. The decay of these produces radon. Per the USDA.
The dreaded disease, cancer is a byproduct of these.
The underlying cancer, possibly the most toxic of all, seems to be in the body politic. This, an observation from those who have been in the battle for years. It is this, which causes the problem to be whisked away under the rug of human greed for money and power.
Always those two, money and power. They are at the root of most of what is wrong with our world today. This is why my attitude towards people – especially politicians – is changing.
I am by nature a forgiving and understanding person; my family taught me well. I cannot forgive, however, those who ignore the death of land and the people who live on it. Still think Mom would be proud.
Yesterday, I posted the first in a series of articles on the toxicity of phosphate mining and the apparent lack of concern – even assistance – given the issue by Florida’s politicians. There were several responses which I’d like to highlight before I write more. Just more of what was to be expected I guess, when you try to herd a sacred cow.
One wrote that the toxicity might be an issue, but that I was to be harshly criticized because some of the data I’d quoted was out of date. He had other and better sources he said. He failed to see – or chose not to – that this first article was but a sampling of the problem; that there is as much conflicting information as the scientific community can come up with. Often, as we know, that, too, is false or purposely misleading. Another, just unsubscribed. I guess the truth hit, somewhere, too close for comfort.
I was sorely tempted to ask how long these folks had been with the government. But, I refrained.
Also, even though the issue has been researched and written about in various Florida news outlets and by universities for several decades, some are still afraid to touch it. Proves beyond the proverbial shadow, just how toxic is the subject in the Sunshine State today.
I am not telling you here anything that the victims and crusaders on radiation poisoning don’t already know, thousands of times over. They have suffered massively.
I just wanted you to know that this issue is something about which “they” do not want you to know. THEREFORE, I will help you to know, and share any and all information I can bring forth on the subject. “They” are not our friends.
The series on radiation toxicity will not be sequential; I will write of other things as I gather information.
Soon, I hope to address Florida’s power issues. There is much the same; state structural issues causing citizens to grossly overpay for grossly underperforming energy sources. I hope this will be one, probably longer, article. The energy truths are readily apparent, and again, the people must know to demand change – before their land and their pocketbooks are destroyed.
A new month always brings new promise. Thanks for being an earnest patriot, and continuing to dig for the truth.
