Christians are known for being people of prayer   In fact, it is not unusual for a Believer to mention prayer as a solution to many of our problems.  Often you will hear them refer to “hitting their knees” as a synonym for praying about a troubling situation or when seeking direction from God. A bended knee is a sign of submission.

I love using sports analogies because they often reflect the issues of life.  It is common to hear a football announcer refer to a “Hail Mary” pass, a “wing and a prayer”, or a “miracle” escape from the clutches of defeat.  Whether we will admit it or not, prayer is a part of our daily lexicon…but not necessarily in a Holy and righteous way.

It is not unusual at the end of the game for a team to “take a knee” … which is a reference to the QB taking a snap and immediately placing his knee on the ground as a signal that the game is over.  It is an outward understanding by both teams that the struggle is complete.

“You win and we lose” is the agreement that both teams make when the team with the ball “takes a knee.”  Game over.  We win.  You lose.  Good try.  Shake hands and head to the locker room.

Taking a knee is glorious gesture for the winning team, but a sad public admission of defeat by the losing team.  In fact, it is a merciful act by the victors…not inducing more shame on the defeated foe.

Which brings me to the issue of our time.  Has the American Church taken a knee in the cultural war?  Have Christians begun to accept the fact that the Luciferian Left has won the game and that the job of God’s team is to humbly bow in compliance to Satan’s victorious minions?

“We win in the end” I often here the players on God’s team shout as they tuck their tails between their legs and head to the locker room in embarrassing defeat.  They hope soon in the future to be rescued by the Rapture Bus…praying that their Daddy is about to come and beat up on the Devil and his Squadron of Demon powered players.

“We win in the end” is the sorry lament of a weak and defeated foe…sort of the modern version of “My Dad can beat up your DAD.”  What a sad state of affairs for the complacent team coached by the King of Kings.

I was pondering this subject the other day as I ruminated over the unwillingness of most of America’s pastors to “get in the game.”  Entrusted with building HIS Kingdom most of America’s churches are building their own Kingdoms waiting anxiously for the last play of the game so they can get on the “bus to Heaven.”

(I guess they are willing to leave all the expensive equipment behind.  You know, all the stuff that the Prosperity Gospel enabled them to buy.)  Sort of like Joe Biden and our Rapture out of the Middle East.

Look.  My purpose is not to make light of the end time Rapture Theory because if there is an imminent return of Christ, I am on the first busload out.  I pray for the return of Christ, but wonder how happy He will be that HE had to come and clean up the mess we left behind.  He told us to take care of the place until he came home.  Instead of being caretakers of HIS creation we have treated it like a wild weekend at Animal House.  We better pray He is merciful.

Just for the record.  The Bible records that God told Adam to Take Dominion of the Earth.  He said the same thing to Noah before the flood and instructed him to build a boat for future “seed”. After the crucifixion, His Son ordered His people to “go and teach everyone else to obey” because He had “all power and authority” over “all nations.”

Not one time in all of Scripture will you ever see God telling HIS people to “take a knee.”

Either God is all powerful…or He is not.  If He is NOT all powerful, let’s take a knee and let Team Lucifer run out the clock.

If He IS all powerful then that means HIS CHURCH is in charge.  How do you explain this verse?

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Or this

Of the increase of His government and peace.  There will be no end,

Or this one:

“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Jesus Christ is returning as a Conquering King.  In fact, HE IS KING RIGHT NOW!  The KING of all KINGS.

So, if Jesus is King right now, and He has done a tag team hand off of His power to the Saints here on earth, why does Lucifer seem to be wielding so much power?

We are in the final drive to win the game.  It is time for the defense to blitz and for the offense to put together a long, sustained drive for the endzone.  I promise you this. Jesus Christ, the King of the Kings ain’t bowing to Lucifer.  Jesus is Champion of the World!

Fasten your chin strap, tighten your belt, and lock on the Full Armor of God.  This will be our finest hour!!

Stand up!  Suite up! Show up!  All hands on deck. Our King is calling.

Will you pick up the phone?

Onward Christian soldiers.  It is time for God’s team to get off of our knees!
