Not wanting to appear partisan we have to look at what I call traitors to the American people from the Republican Party. These people are RINOs and do not represent the Party nor the American people. The person that first comes to mind is Senator John McCain. Some call him a hero, some don’t. He did spend time in the Hanoi Hilton and that was not a vacation but there are those that were there that nicknamed him ‘Songbird’. “www.vietnamveteransagainstjohnmccain.com/”; have released a fact sheet on the highly decorated hero’s service in Vietnam. If this is reminiscent of the Swiftboat shits against John Kerry, at least these vets have the official records and news reports. Apparently John McCain III crashed a total of five planes, received one and a half medals per hour of service, and while the admiral’s son was pampered in the Hanoi Hilton, his “www.vietnamveteransagainstjohnmccain.com/cin_declassified_la; earned him the name “POW Songbird.” [1]
I bring him up because he betrayed the American people and led the fight deny an American citizen the constitutional right to our 6th Amendment which reads: In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence. Even Senator Rand Paul opposed what Senator McCain did: Conservative Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (R), slammed the change, singling out Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in the process.
“The decision by the NDAA conference committee, led by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) to strip the National Defense Authorization Act of the amendment that protects American citizens against indefinite detention now renders the entire NDAA unconstitutional,” Sen. Paul said.
“I voted against NDAA in 2011 because it did not contain the proper constitutional protections. When my Senate colleagues voted to include those protections in the 2012 NDAA through the Feinstein-Lee Amendment last month, I supported this act,” Sen. Paul continued. “But removing those protections now takes us back to square one and does as much violence to the Constitution as last year’s NDAA. When the government can arrest suspects without a warrant, hold them without trial, deny them access to counsel or admission of bail, we have shorn the Bill of Rights of its sanctity.
“Saying that new language somehow ensures the right to habeas corpus – the right to be presented before a judge – is both questionable and not enough. Citizens must not only be formally charged but also receive jury trials and the other protections our Constitution guarantees. Habeas corpus is simply the beginning of due process. It is by no means the whole.
“Our Bill of Rights is not something that can be cherry-picked at legislators’ convenience. When I entered the United States Senate, I took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. It is for this reason that I will strongly oppose passage of the McCain conference report that strips the guarantee to a trial by jury.” [2] Why would a person who is sworn to uphold our Constitution, as Senator McCain is sworn, be so callous as to deny an American citizen any of his/her constitutional rights? In my opinion, only a traitor would do so. In September of 2017 the NDAA was reauthorized by a vote of 89-8. Only eight Senators voted against it, 3 Republicans, 1 Independent and 3 Democrats. The pathetic thing is those that voted against it was for the military spending NOT the violation of constitutional rights! Again, I must point out that we don’t need a Con Con, we need people who will adhere to the restrictions of the Constitution.
You can simply look at who we have in Congress and see that there is very little attention paid to the confines of the Constitution. The federal government established Medicare and Medicaid but there is no provision in the Constitution that gives them the right to do so. The feds also control public education even though there is no provision in the Constitution for them to do so. They claim that they have nothing to do with curriculum which is half-truth. They set the testing standards which dictates the curriculum. They think that we are all Democrat voters, uninformed and not able to think for ourselves. Even Social Security is not an area that the government has the right to be involved with not to mention healthcare.
In attempting to rebuild America we must get the government out of all the things it is not supposed to be in and get it back to doing what it is supposed to do like protect our border which is one of its specified constitutional responsibilities; Section 8 of the Constitution states that Congress is to “provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States”. This means protect our border, but they refuse to build the wall that is necessary in this day and age that will protect our border from an invasion from hostile forces or just people that want to take advantage of the riches of this great country. The Democrats don’t want to stop the invasion of these people because they will end up voting for Democrats thanks to all the freebies they give the illegals. Democrats have also found ways to get these people not eligible to vote because they are not citizens to vote through underhanded means such as registering them to vote when they get a driver’s license. California just allowed illegal to get driver’s licenses as a few other states have done. All these states that practice this dishonest maneuver are Democrat controlled. Typical.
The problem we have is that for far too many years we have not paid attention to who we send to D.C. nor have we paid a lot of attention to what they do when they get there. We are paying for that apathy today. If we expect to reverse this damage, we must be determined to replace the vast majority of the people that are in D.C. today. This can’t be done in one election. But we must replace them with people who will stand up to the elites in both Parties. We are seeing the push back these anti-Americans are giving Trump in his quest to ‘drain the swamp’ and give the rule of law back to the people. We used to have a government of the people, by the people, for the people but it has become one for the government at the cost of the people. It’s our choice to keep it the way it is or take our government back.
