Pete Hegseth’s children were given the privilege of witnessing their dad becoming Our United States Secretary of Defense last week, and they were thrilled. Oklahoma Sen. Markwayne Mullin escorted them to the Senate gallery to watch the roll call vote.
They were there, as our Vice President, JD Vance, cast the tie-breaking vote by which their dad became our SecDef., by a vote of 51-50.
As they came running out to greet their father, they excitedly said, “Dad! You won in overtime!”
What a powerful observation, from a young child.
First, it is obvious that this family has been taught to keep trying, keep working toward a goal, regardless of “the score” at any given moment. They know what causes overtime victory, and they were proud of their dad, for it. What a great lesson THAT is!!
My grandma used to call it “sticktoitiveness.”
It seems that THIS is the mark of the whole Trump administration so far, especially our President. Never give up; keep forging ahead.
The media, unsurprisingly, had been gnawing at the Hegseth nomination since it was first made. Their own brand of persistence, nauseating as it is.
My rule of thumb on that is, if the MSM doesn’t want it, I probably DO, even if I need to learn more about the FACTS of the matter. Their apparent attack on Pete Hegseth was based on his having been involved in multiple marriages and the fact that he drinks (drank?) alcohol. Oh, yes, and comments on women in the military – NOT the disparagement insinuated by the MSM.
Despite repeated clarifications of main stream “misunderstanding” and the denial of his former wife, that there had ever been domestic violence in their home, the trained pack of left-wing journalists wrote dozens of pieces slamming Hegseth. Even the former sister-in-law – from whom the media managed to get a damning statement about Hegseth before his confirmation hearing – was tagged as “incorrect” by the former Mrs. Hegseth. His ex-wife denied abuse, and all she said about his drinking is that “he drinks more often than he doesn’t”. That applies to everyone who regularly enjoys an evening glass of wine, of course.
Here’s my take.
The fact that DC insiders had to choose the use of alcohol, marital relationship issues and DEI in the military as their reasons for attack is laughable at best. Drunken orgies, marital infidelity and sexual perversion is THEIR “MO” (modus operandi). They are familiar with this world, so they use it to accuse others.
They have tried the same kind of character assassinations with other nominees.
Didn’t your mom teach you that “those who live in glass houses should never throw stones”? Yeah, just an other wisdom of the ages that our Marxist infiltrators have tried to remove.
Kristi Noem, they suggested, wasn’t capable of running such a large agency as DHS, despite the fact that she was a twice-elected state governor and former US Congressman.
Noem’s predecessor, Majorkas, born in Cuba, is a lawyer; a former assistant DA in central District of California; a member of Obama’s transition team, as well as Obama’s Dir. of Immigration Services. Majorkas implemented DACA (wherein “dreamers” often became nightmares) for Obama, then open borders with voting privileges for non-citizens, under Biden. He met secretly with Soros in 2022, as the Junta tried to convince us we didn’t have a migrant problem. Look him up sometime, and be sure to catch my substack on his involvement in the voter registration of illegals Tucker Carlson talked of this several days later.
I’ll take Kristi Noem over all that this Cuban-born anti-American has done to America. OH, yes.
I could go on, but I want to get back to the idea of “winning in overtime” because it’s such a good message for us pro-Americans. Past, present AND future. We must learn it, teach it, and use it.
We could say that our 47th President won that way. His massive love for freedom, along with God’s grace, carried him through many perils. Some of those, we will always remember; some, I am certain, we may never know. But, he is here among us, and, if his first week as “47” is indicative, Donald Trump’s drive for “overtime” may help to save a nation. A nation on which we and the rest of the world depend.
We also, must slip our patriotism into overdrive so that we can help Donald Trump to take back our constitutional republic. Very few of us even realized all that we had lost, until TrumpForce began to dismantle DEI, Gender “fluidity”, the World Economic Forum and its UN Agenda offshoots, and a lot of “departments” of our own government – FEMA comes to mind – that were ravishing our budget to destroy our core beliefs. And, of course, to fund eternal wars, which waste both our human and monetary capital.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion was nothing but a Marxian attempt to remove personal merit as a key to success. It was an INSULT TO EVERY HUMAN BEING, to suggest that the grounds for achievement need be mandated rather than earned. “Pssst…, hey American fool…you need US, the government, to achieve anything in your miserable lives.”
The United States of America was designed to be a meritocracy, where our Constitution and founding documents provide us the tools to build our lives as we would make them, according to personal merit. Equality of opportunity and all that good stuff. Equality of results is Communism.
The message of “diversity, equity and inclusion” was that women, those of color, and even the gay community that the Left loves so much, could NOT make it on their own; it would take government to put them into higher paying positions. One of my best friends is gay in his private life, and a growing success in his business life; I know he finds great offense in the public discussion of such private matters. He has and will succeed on his own.
While I’m at it, we do NOT need the government to take care of our family members, except in the most catastrophic of situations. Yes, our families are farther scattered geographically than a century or so ago, but we can deal, if we want. Covid was a horror show of separating families in times of crisis – eliminating hospital visits, refusing entry to family members in “health care” facilities; forcing barriers of plastic, useless masks, and FEAR; fear of assembly, of defying Marxian mandates.
They were killing and maiming our children with the gender fluidity wars, and many will be lost to the mental and physical issues created by this insanity.
GOD ONLY MADE TWO GENDERS, AND HE DOESN’T MAKE MISTAKES!
Thank you, Donald Trump for putting God back into our lives by removing the Marxist mandates which had saturated our world this last decade. Obama tried to be somewhat more subtle about it all when he was POTUS. In his third term, using the old aphasic named Joe as the curtain behind which he hid, Barry’s team let go with as much as they could to destroy America.
I’ll stop here, for now. Let’s watch as weeks 2 – 207 of the second Trump administration unfold. Week one was a dandy! Let’s get in line to help wherever and whenever we can. Only God can work miracles singlehandedly, and much as we admire, respect, and – yes – even perhaps love Donald Trump, he is NOT God, nor has he ever pretended to be.
Donald Trump is just really good – as is Pete Hegseth’s son – at recognizing that overtime efforts can save the day – AND our world.
