Pastor Glynn Adams

November 10, 2024

I certainly don’t claim to know everything about what is going on in our nation today but I read the Bible and books written by men and women who are influenced by the Book.  The Bible is our instruction book on how to follow the LORD Jesus Christ and to live His abundant life.  Hopefully, you will find out today if you can “handle the truth” of Scripture and commit to its obedience!!!

Today in this article, I want to bring your attention to some most important facts that most pastors and those of us in the Body of Christ have forgotten or never knew.  There is so much I could write on but I am going to state what I feel are the most important to our current situation in America.  I am amazed how little we follow the Word of God and Constitution today and how little we actually know in order to be obedient to the LORD Jesus Christ.  If Jesus Christ is your LORD, then He is LORD of everything in your life including your golf game, your money and how you use it; everything and God means everything!!!!

Deception is a powerful word.  One of the profound truths which most followers of Christ do not know is, “by definition, a person who is deceived does not know he or she is deceived.”  Once deception is cast down, there is light and revelation that amazes the one who was deceived.  A major deception among the followers of Christ in America is the work of Satan in the world and in the lives of believers.

We are taught that Satan is bound and chained.  Yet many cannot account for the attacks that come our way and the besetting sins in our lives that we cannot seem to overcome.  We pray and pray, we struggle, and we just ignore hoping all will just go away.  Much of the thought and counsel concerning dealing with Satan in the American religious systems today is “ignore him and he will flee.”  What a deception.  Most Christians today are confused and deceived about the work of Satan and how to effectively defeat him in their lives.  “Submit therefore to God.  Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)

In Ephesians 4:11, the Bible says that we have been given apostles, prophets, evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the Body of Christ until we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God……  Is that going on in your religious system today?  I doubt it!!!  Is that what your pastor is doing?

Most pastors I know and interview, don’t want to talk about Satan, demons, and strongholds.  They ignore the subject while the Bible says to resist and that pastors are to teach this to the Body.   I can tell you I went seven years to the best Bible School, university, and seminary that Southern Baptists have and not at any time in class was I taught about Satan, strongholds, and demons.

Most pastors in America know how to bring people to the light but know nothing about how to protect his congregation from the deception of Satan!!!  I learned about casting out demons and anointing the sick with oil and praying for them from a Charismatic lay person and in the pastorate, it sure came in handy as a young man was brought to me who was on drugs, in the occult, used a Ouija board, a DJ at an acid rock radio station and in all types of sexual activity and perversion.   Was I suppose to tell him Jesus can’t help him?   The Southern Baptist denomination I was in thought so. They labeled me a “Charismatic” and fired me!!!    I praise God I was set free from all that demonic religious mess!!!!

Because we have ignored Satan and refuse to resist him, America has been captured by Satan, we are ruled by Satan and not by God and we have become a habitation of demons in our culture and nation, and now the gods of Egypt and Babylon are now sitting up their high places and only God knows what else in our nation and we ignore Satan and his powers of darkness!!!!!

This revival of the occult such as witchcraft, satanism, and spiritualism have invaded our land in flood tides. Eastern religions have found new footholds in the land of the free and the home of the brave.    We are a deceived nation – all because our pastors and religious institutions are deceived and ignore Satan and his powers of darkness and refuse to resist him.

We are in a war and we must get on a war footing; put on the whole armor of God and do warfare.  Most people ask, “What warfare?”  This is the response which often results when spiritual warfare is mentioned.  Traditionally, the subject of spiritual warfare is disregarded by most people.  Though the devil is admittedly a part of the total theological spectrum, he has been largely disregarded and ignored in most generations in this nation.

Why do we ignore Satan?   First of all, we are deceived but Hosea 4:6, tells us, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.  Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest.  Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.”   Knowledge and the law of your God comes from the Bible – the Word of God.  Are we as the followers of Jesus Christ prepared to continue to attempt to live the life of Christ without reading and abiding in Christ – the Word of God?  My God what is it going to take to wake us up?  Rejected from being His priest and God will forget our children.

We can’t continue to be disengaged in this war going on in this nation.  As a follower of Christ, you can’t hide, you can’t play it safe – you try to save your life you will lose it so said Jesus.   We have no fear of God among too many of the believers in this nation.   In the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 24:14, Jesus explains you are a wicked and lazy slave if you try to play it safe in the Kingdom of God.

Let me before I continue on help your fear of God.  Folks, I am not trying to be unkind or mean here but we have turned following Christ into a religion and a game and it is neither.   We have been lied to by pastors and religious systems that following Jesus is a comfortable religion and you can do as you please and still go to heaven.   You will be held accountable by Jesus Christ, Lord of Lord, King of Kings!!!  In Revelation 21:8, the first to be cast into hell are cowards, immoral people, liars and etc.

When you made a covenant with God to follow Him and to obey, commit, submit, to be faithful, and show allegiance to Him, God one day will hold you accountable for what you did with what He gave you.  You are not a follower of Jesus because you say you are but what you really did with what God gave you!!!  As Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer said in trying to wake the followers of Christ in Germany up against Hitler, “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil; God will not hold us guiltless.  Not to speak is to speak; not to act is to act.”   To follow Christ is no game here.  We are talking about life or death, heaven or hell, blessed or cursed, light or darkness, right or wrong, and truth or lies.  This is not “Ho Hum!!!”   This is serious stuff!!!

Jesus really will send you out as lambs among wolves.  You will be hated, reviled, persecuted, and you will be handed over to authorities and put in prison or worse.   If you can’t take that, then you will probably end up in hell.  Jesus said in Matthew 24:13, “But the one who endures to the end, he shall be saved.”  With Jesus, you are all in or not in at all.

Again, we have been lied to.  All you have to do to follow Jesus is go to a building, be comfortable and care-free, be yourself, sit there in your sins, listen to the sermon, its friendly, no challenge and you can feel good because you went to “church” and then go home do as you please because you have hyper-grace.  When is the last time a pastor said you have spiritual responsibilities and you will be held accountable to carry them out.  I really do hope this will help your fear of God.  It’s all in the Word of God for you to see and obey.

Yes, we are at war, like it or not and our war is not going away by ignoring it.  It is a real war with real antagonists, real battles, and real weaponry.  It is unseen but no less real than the smoking battlefields of Israel’s exploding war going on today.  It is more than likely that we shall understand more and far better as believers as we continue to face the fact of this warfare in our nation today.  Doubtless, the time has come for the followers of Jesus Christ to wake up, repent of our deception, and to sound the battle cry, get on a war footing, mobilize, train, and equip the soldiers and “fight the good fight of faith.” (1 Timothy 6:12)

Even a casual observance of the Apostle Paul’s writings will reveal that they are sprinkled with military terms denoting an intense warfare.   (If you can’t see this it is because you have not read it in the Word.)   Paul told Timothy to endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ in 1 Timothy 2:3, and to fight the good fight of faith in 1 Timothy 6:12.  Paul’s own testimony was I have fought a good fight, I have kept the faith in 2 Timothy 4:7.

In writing to the church at Corinth, he declared, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

That one statement contains at lease seven implications of warfare (war, weapons, warfare, pulling down strongholds, casting down, and captivity.  In Romans 8:37, Paul announces, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.”  Our Savior Himself announced, “Think not that I am come to send peace on the earth.  I came not to send peace but a sword.” (Matthew 10:34)    It is clearly and very obvious that the ministry of Jesus on this earth was a continuous warfare.    He announced to His disciples that in the world they would have tribulation and further declared that He had already overcome the world (John 16:33]   Folks, we worship “another” Jesus that we have made up and not the real Jesus in the Bible.

Peter informs us that we should be sober and vigilant, knowing that our adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8)   But nowhere in the Bible is the subject of spiritual warfare treated with more seriousness and depth than in Ephesians 6:10-19. “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.  Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The Apostle Paul is saying in this passage to all Americans to: “WAKE UP TO THE WORLD OF SPIRITUAL WARFARE.”    We must discern who Satan is using to carry out his destruction and then openly confront them in the power of God and the authority of the Word of God.   We have been given all power over the enemy and we must take the fight to them starting now!!!  We have tolerated too much evil from Satan already!!!
