One of my favorite things to do during the weekend is to sit on the deck of our home and enjoy the night sky. Despite living in a suburban area, a cloudless night reveals a multitude of stars that can be seen with the naked eye. It always amazes me that many of the very same stars that I view from my deck were seen by people thousands of years ago.
I understand that all generations, as they get older, look back on the past and long for the “good old days.” Even though they probably weren’t all that great. If you look at the big picture, every generation has had it’s challenges to confront and overcome. Some fared better than others. My concern is that I don’t think Americans today are up to the task at hand.
